The Chargers made a handful of roster moves on Tuesday, signing three players and waiving four in a corresponding move. Per The Athletic’s Daniel Popper, the Bolts officially signed tight end Johnny Pascuzzi, safety Myles Purchase (formerly a cornerback in 2025), and offensive tackle Laekin Vakalahi . To offset the additions, the team waived edge rusher Niles King and tight ends Tanner McLachlan and Thomas Yassmin . The team also waived/injured cornerback Jeremiah Wilson. Pascuzzi was signed by the team following a rookie tryout last week. He played three seasons at Iowa before one season at Tulane. While not a productive pass catcher in college, he brings potential as a move-blocker and on special teams. Purchase signed with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent in 2025 as a cornerback. He played well during the preseason and has since made the transition to safety in the NFL. The 6’5, 320-pound Vakalahi is an international player who originally signed with the Eagles in 2024. He won a Super Bowl as a rookie and mainly played as a backup left tackle. At 6’5 and 320 pounds, he is a project with good physical traits whom the Chargers will look to develop this season
The Chargers are shuffling their roster in the wake of their rookie minicamp. They announced on Tuesday that they have signed tight end Johnny Pascuzzi, safety Myles Purchase and tackle Laekin Vakalahi. ‘ Pascuzzi was undrafted out of Tulane this year while Purchase spent time with the Chargers and Giants after going undrafted last year. Vakalahi was a rugby player in New Zealand and came into the NFL through the International Player Pathway program. He previously spent time with the Eagles. The Chargers also announced that they have waived linebacker Niles King, tight end Tanner McLachlan, cornerback Jeremiah Wright, and tight end Thomas Yassmin
