Falcons miss several key players and promote two from the practice squad for Sunday’s game
The Falcons activated cornerback A.J. Terrell to the active roster from injured reserve, the team announced Saturday. Terrell injured his groin in Week 2. He returned to practice this week, and now back on the 53-player roster, Terrell no longer carries an injury designation. He will play. The Falcons also announced they placed offensive tackle Michael Jerrell (biceps) on injured reserve and signed defensive end Drake Jackson to the active roster. They elevated running back Khalil Herbert and linebacker Brian Asamoah from the practice squad for Sunday’s game against the 49ers. They ruled out wide receiver Beaux Collins (hip) and offensive tackle Cameron Williams (ankle). Defensive back Avieon Terrell, who was questionable with a hamstring injury, also now has an illness and remains questionable
The Falcons listed both of the Terrell brothers as questionable to play against the 49ers in Week 7. A.J. Terrell has been on injured reserve for the last four weeks because of a groin injury, but he returned to practice this week and will need to be activated by Saturday afternoon in order to play this week. Avieon Terrell has been limited by a back injury. The Falcons also listed wide receiver Beaux Collins (hip), linebacker Kendal Daniels (neck), defensive tackle Gervon Dexter (hamstring), defensive end Samson Ebukam (hamstring), cornerback C.J. Henderson (groin), defensive end Za’Darius Smith (neck), offensive tackle Cameron Williams (ankle), and wide receiver Olamide Zaccheaus (shoulder) as questionable. Collins and Williams are also on injured reserve and would need to be activated to play. Defensive back Billy Bowman (hamstring), linebacker Divine Deablo (forearm), offensive tackle Michael Jerrell (bicep), and running back Brian Robinson (hamstring) have all been ruled out
The Falcons have joined the four-quarterback club, keeping Michael Penix Jr, Cooper Rush, Jack Strand, and Tua Tagovailoa on the initial roster
Drops: Beaux Collins
The Falcons are signing free agent wide receiver Beaux Collins, Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports. The Giants waived Collins with an injury settlement last week. Collins, 23, signed with the Giants as an undrafted free agent in 2025. He played nine games as a rookie last season, catching two passes for 25 yards. Collins saw action on 84 offensive snaps and 109 on special teams before going on injured reserve, which is where he finished the season

Collins (concussion) reverted to the Giants' injured reserve Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Collins is set to spend the entirety of the 2026 season on injured reserve unless he is waived with an injury settlement. The wide receiver out of Notre Dame played in nine games for the Giants during his rookie season, logging two receptions for 25 yards over 84 offensive snaps

The Giants have placed defensive lineman Roy Robertson-Harris on injured reserve, ending his season. They also waived wide receiver Beaux Collins with an injury designation and signed defensive backs David Long and D.J. James
The Giants waived Collins (concussion) with an injury designation Wednesday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. Unless he is claimed by another club during the current waiver period, Collins is now on track to spend the entire 2026 campaign on the Giants' injured reserve list. His absence clears more space for players like Dalen Cambre and Xavier Gipson to make a run at the final 53-man roster for the upcoming season
Collins (concussion) was spotted working with trainers on the side at practice Monday, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports. It appears Collins has still not returned to full health after missing the Giants' final eight games last season with a neck injury and a concussion. The Notre Dame product caught two of six targets for 25 yards across nine contests in 2025, contributing on both offense (84 snaps) and special teams (110 snaps). Once fully healthy, Collins is expected to compete for a similar role ahead of the 2026 campaign

We are now in the throes of the NFL offseason, and the vast majority of roster building has been done. So, let’s begin going position-by-position through the New York Giants roster to see if they are better, worse, or perhaps the same as they were in 2025. We will begin at wide receiver. Key additions: Darnell Mooney, Calvin Austin , Malachi Fields Key losses: Wan’Dale Robinson Roster : Darius Slayton , Gunner Olszewski , Malik Nabers , Darnell Mooney, Ryan Miller , Jalin Hyatt , Isaiah Hodgins , Xavier Gipson , Malachi Fields , Beaux Collins , Dalen Cambre , Calvin Austin III *** Rookies in bold For starters, because they should have some version of their best player, Malik Nabers for more than three-plus games. Even if Nabers isn’t fully back to 2024 form, he will still make some plays and be a weapon defenses need to pay extra attention to. His presence alone should make the group better than it was a year ago. Next, because they have depth. Darnell Mooney and Calvin Austin are legitimate NFL receivers, and Malachi Fields adds youth, size and potential to help the passing and running games. The Giants shouldn’t be stuck playing Jalin Hyatt, or trolling the NFL scrap heap for players like Ray Ray McCloud . Maybe Nabers won’t be healthy, or will just be a shell of the star he was in 2024. Maybe the Giants will miss Wan’Dale Robinson more than we think. Maybe Mooney and Austin aren’t the upgrades we think they are, and Fields turns out to be a big, slow guy who can’t get open and can’t catch. Maybe Darius Slayton has one of those years he is prone to where catching the ball seems optional. Maybe tight end Isaiah Likely , who is expected to often function as a big slot receiver, isn’t up to the task of being more than the secondary target he was with the Baltimore Ravens . SHOULD be better. They should have Malik Nabers for more than three-plus, and they should be deeper than they were a year ago. If Darnell Mooney remotely close to the 1,000-yard season he had playing for Matt Nagy with the Chicago Bears in 2021, that would be massive. You never know what will happen with injuries, but when I look down the depth chart I feel better about what I see than I did a year ago

Collns' (concussion) 21-day practice window expired Wednesday, and he'll remain on injured reserve for the rest of the season, Patricia Traina of SI.com reports. The Giants designated Collins for return from injured reserve Dec. 10, but after concussion was added to his existing neck injury on Dec. 12, he didn't practice again before his window to return from IR closed Wednesday. The undrafted rookie will finish the campaign with two catches (on six targets) for 25 yards in nine appearances
Collins (neck/concussion) didn't practice Wednesday, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports. Collins' DNP on Wednesday suggests he won't be activated from the injured reserve list by the end of his 21-day practice window, meaning he's ineligible to return for Sunday's matchup against the Cowboys. The Notre Dame product has appeared in nine games this season, catching two of six targets for 25 yards
Collins (neck/concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's matchup against Las Vegas. Collins will miss his seventh straight contest after suffering a neck injury Nov. 2 in a game against San Francisco. He was designated to return to practice Dec. 10 and initially logged a full practice, but he's now been unable to practice in any capacity the past two weeks. It's not clear if Collins has suffered a setback, but he'll need to be activated by next Wednesday or he will be ineligible to return for New York's final contest of the campaign
