Reid went undrafted after a injury-plagued final season at Pitt, but he showed his upside the year before when he ranked fifth in the nation with 154.9 all-purpose yards per game while becoming the first player in school history to record 100 rushing yards and 100 receiving yards in the same game. Undersized at 5-foot-6 and 174 pounds, he ran a disappointing 4.58 40-yard time at his pro day, but there's always the hope that a player with his stature and skill set can become the next Darren Sproles. Reid joins a crowded Bills backfield that already has James Cook, Ty Johnson and Ray Davis entrenched in the top backfield jobs, and Davis led the NFL with an average of 30.4 yards per kickoff return in 2025 as well. Reid could be in for a tough battle just to stick on the practice squad in Buffalo

The Bills made five roster moves on Thursday. They signed wide receivers Deven Thompkins and Max Tomczak, waived cornerback Dorian Strong with a non-football injury, waived/injured running back Desmond Reid and waived wide receiver Gabriel Benyard. Thompkins is entering his fifth year in the NFL and was a minicamp invite with the Bills this week. The Utah State product made a memorable play on Wednesday, laying out to secure a deep touchdown pass from quarterback Shane Buechele. Thompkins previously played for the Falcons (2025), Panthers (2024) and Buccaneers (2022-23). He has 42 catches for 162 yards and a touchdown in his NFL career. Tomczak rejoins the Bills after signing with the team in May as an undrafted free agent. He spent his four-year collegiate career with Youngstown State. In 49 career games, Tomczak totaled a school-record 225 receptions, 3,024 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns

The Buffalo Bills continue their offseason workout program with Organized Team Activities (OTA), which begin at the team’s practice facilities today and continue on Tuesday, May 19, Thursday, May 21, and again from May 26-28 and June 1-4.
