Vikings sign RB Jermar Jefferson, waive RB Jordan Mims
The Vikings have announced a couple of roster moves on Wednesday. Minnesota has signed running back Jermar Jefferson and waived running back Jordan Mims. Jefferson, 26, entered the league as a Lions seventh-round pick in 2021. He has appeared in 11 career games, rushing for 96 yards with two touchdowns. Last year, Jefferson appeared in two games for the Cardinals, playing exclusively on special teams. He was most recently with the 49ers for a brief stint during this year’s offseason program. The Colts brought in a familiar name for a tryout, but it doesn’t appear as if it was successful. Via the league’s daily transaction wire, Chase Claypool was among a group of four players who tried out for Indianapolis on Thursday. But the Colts ended up signing the other receiver who was a part of it — undrafted rookie Liam Clifford. Claypool has not appeared in a regular-season game since 2023 when he played for the Dolphins. He spent time with the Bills in 2024. Running backs Jermar Jefferson and Roydell Williams also tried out for the Colts on Thursday

49ers sign S Ashtyn Davis to a one-year deal
The 49ers signed safety Ashtyn Davis to a one-year deal, the team announced Tuesday. In a corresponding move, the 49ers waived running back Jermar Jefferson. Davis spent last season with the Dolphins, appearing in 15 games with 12 starts. He recorded 63 tackles, four passes defensed, one interception, one forced fumble and added two special teams tackles. He entered the NFL as a third-round pick of the Jets in 2020 and spent five seasons in New York. In his career, Davis has appeared in 84 games with 34 starts. He has totaled 217 tackles, 19 passes defensed, nine interceptions, five forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries and half a sack to go with 23 special teams tackles. 49ers running back Isaac Guerendo tore a pectoral muscle about a month ago while lifting weights, coach Kyle Shanahan said. Shanahan said Guerendo could be ready by the end of training camp. The 49ers signed running backs Jordan Mims and Jermar Jefferson on Thursday to help fill in while Guerendo is out. Guerendo has an injury history, with hamstring, groin, foot sprain, ankle and shoulder injuries since joining the 49ers as a fourth-round pick in 2024. 49ers sign RB Jordan Mims
The 49ers have made an addition to their offensive backfield. The agents for running back Jordan Mims announced that their client has agreed to a deal with the NFC West club. Mims appeared in one game for the Titans in 2025. Mims initially signed with the Bills after going undrafted in 2023 and moved on to the Saints to make his regular season debut. He played two games as a rookie and 11 games the next season. He has 20 carries for 71 yards and 12 catches for 71 yards for his career. Christian McCaffrey is the lead back for the 49ers. Jordan James, Isaac Guerendo, Patrick Taylor, Sincere McCormick, and third-round pick Kaelon Black are the other backs. UPDATE 4:35 p.m. ET : The NFL’s daily transaction wire shows that the 49ers also signed running back Jermar Jefferson. They waived McCormick and placed defensive back Darrick Forrest on injured reserve
