Is Cam Ward already the 2nd-best quarterback in the AFC South?
The Tennessee Titans finished last place in the AFC South last season for the second consecutive campaign. It wasn’t particularly close. The 3-14 Titans trailed the third-place Indianapolis Colts (8-9) by five victories. One thing that could change the Titans’ fortunes in the AFC South is the ascension of quarterback Cam Ward . If Ward establishes himself as a franchise quarterback and legitimate difference-maker, then the Titans should be vastly improved within the division. The question goes begging, where does Ward already rank in the AFC South? Most Titans fans would agree the team’s QB situation is better than the Colts’, with Daniel Jones coming off an Achilles injury, and on a prove-it contract. C.J. Stroud is probably considered the best quarterback in the division, but he hasn’t met expectations after a perfect rookie season. Stroud’s 23 touchdown passes as a rookie in 2023 is still his career high. And then there’s Trevor Lawrence . The former No. 1 overall quarterback has endured a whirlwind of a career. Lawrence struggled under the combative Urban Meyer as a rookie, but appeared to find his stride under Doug Pederson. There were more struggles (and injuries) in 2023 and 2024. Now, he had another great season under Liam Coen in 2025. Most analysts would probably place both Stroud and Lawrence ahead of Ward in AFC South quarterback rankings. Neither the Texans or Jaguars quarterback have been perfect throughout their careers, however. There’s definitely wiggle room for Ward to surpass one (or both) of them in 2026. Hopefully Ward takes the desired step forward in 2026 under Robert Saleh and Brian Daboll. The Titans have invested in his supporting cast, adding weapons like Carnell Tate , Wan’Dale Robinson, and Daniel Bellinger this offseason. Ward possesses every trait needed to establish himself as a top-two quarterback in the AFC South during the 2026 season

Titans TE Gunnar Helm eyes an even bigger second season
Titans tight end Gunnar Helm, a fourth-round pick in 2025, appeared in 16 games, with 10 starts, as a rookie. He ranked fourth on the team with 44 receptions, which set a franchise record for rookie tight ends, and fourth on the team with 357 receiving yards. Helm scored twice and had at least one reception in all 16 games he played. He isn’t satisfied. “There’s always something to go out there and do,” Helm said, via Jim Wyatt of the team website, “ always something to prove , and there’s somebody always coming for your spot.” Heim has a new head coach (Robert Saleh), a new offensive coordinator (Brian Daboll) and new teammates at tight end, with veterans Daniel Bellinger and Kylen Granson and rookie Jaren Kanak joining Helm, David Martin-Robinson and Joel Wilson on the roster this offseason. Helm knows Daboll’s offense utilizes the tight ends, which has him excited about building on his rookie season. “It’s been great,” Helm said. “Obviously [Daboll] is not afraid to use the tight end, did so wherever he’s been. There’s been great clips of like [Rob] Gronkowski [in New England], Dalton Kinkaid [and] Dawson Knox [in Buffalo], just doing things that usually receivers do. Being able to be worked into the offense like that, it’s been great.”

Daniel Bellinger Could Have Meaningful Role in First Year in Tennessee
Tight end Daniel Bellinger signed with the Tennessee Titans in March and is expected to have a meaningful role in offensive coordinator Brian Daboll's scheme in 2026. Bellinger played under Daboll with the Giants, where he recorded 88 catches for 934 yards and four touchdowns in his first four seasons. Last year, he had 19 receptions for 286 yards and two touchdowns. While Chig Okonkwo is gone, Gunnar Helm is expected to handle most receiving work at TE, with Bellinger potentially earning consistent snaps as a blocking-first player, making him largely avoidable in fantasy leagues

Every single NFL team says that they want to build through the draft, and the New York Giants are no different. Drafting starting caliber players is a good start, but that also means retaining your players once they’re eligible for free agency. This year, the Giants had to watch four starting caliber players from the 2022 draft walk out the door for big contracts elsewhere in 2026. The Giants would have preferred to keep Wan’Dale Robinson , Cor’Dale Flott, Daniel Bellinger , and Dane Belton , but that just wasn’t in the cards. NFL teams always have difficult decisions to make in the off-season, and there will always be players they want to keep who leave due to cost or the numbers game. Losing those players is now in the past, and the Giants now have to keep their sights set on building for the future, and they players in their building now. So which of the three biggest names among the players on their rookie contracts do you think is most likely to earn a second contract from the Giants? EDGE Kayvon Thibodeaux – Despite being just 25 years old, Thibodeaux is among the longest-tenured Giants on the roster. He hasn’t quite managed to live up to being the fifth overall pick, but was on a similar pace as Michael Strahan prior to 2025. Thibodeaux has struggled with injuries over the last two years and has seen his sack performance fall off from 11.5 under Wink Martindale in 2023 to just 7.5 in two years under Shane Bowen. Even so, Thibodeaux is versatile enough to play in space or on the line of scrimmage, has a penchant for generating big plays, and is the Giants’ best run defending edge player. Can he finally put it all together in his fifth season and have a monster year? And if so, would that price him out of the Giants plans, as happened with Robinson and Flott? CB Deonte Banks – Banks flashed “number one” corner ability as a rookie and even in his second year (notably, against D.K. Metcalf with vs. the Seahawks , and George Pickens against the Steelers ). However, he simply did not adapt well to both Shane Bowen’s defense and the loss of Jerome Henderson. He excels at playing tight, sticky coverage, but struggled when the margin for error disappears at the catch point. There are a bunch of potential reasons why, but the bottom line is that Banks has simply not lived up to being a first round pick. He’s getting another chance with John Harbaugh, Dennard Wilson, Donald D’Alesio, and Addison Lynch, and has reportedly performed well in this spring’s roster battle for the first over the spring. Even if Banks isn’t able to earn a second contract as a starting corner, he has emerged as a very good kick returner, which is of growing importance with the NFL’s new kickoff rules, as well as John Harbaugh’s appreciation for Special Teams. OC John Michael Schmitz – Schmitz is the safest of the three. He didn’t initially play up to expectations as one of the top two centers in the 2023 NFL Draft, but he has improved each season as a pro. Schmitz is now a solid starting center, who has done a good job of smoothing out the rough spots in his game while still showing flashes of untapped upside. The hope is that the presence of Sisi Mauigoa will help Schmitz better play to his strengths as a blocker and be the player the Giants have always hoped he could become. Schmitz also plays the least-expensive position of these three players. While center is absolutely important to the functioning of the offensive line, it doesn’t command the same kind of premium on the open market as edge defenders or cornerbacks. The Giants obviously hope that each player takes a step forward this year and becomes a core piece of their roster for years to come. But as we’ve seen, what the Giants hope happens and what actually comes to pass aren’t often the same thing. Players don’t always live up to expectations or hopes, and they might price themselves out of the team’s budget if they exceed expectations. Ranking the top 10 NFL offseasons: Myles Garrett trade was a win-win for two teams on AFC heavy list
Top offseason is subjective, because NFL teams are on varying timelines and one team's goals may not match another's. There is a lot taken into account when considering who had the best offseason from coaching changes to player additions and subtractions. A team's inclusion on this list does not guarantee success. In fact, a team capable of adding several players to its roster through free agency likely did not have players of their own worth paying and were coming off a difficult season. Reflecting upon last season, the Patriots were the perfect example of a team that won the offseason. They were in position to pick No. 4 overall in Mike Vrabel's first season and aggressively spent in free agency. The Super Bowl runner-up signed defensive tackle Milton Williams , offensive tackle Morgan Moses , wide receiver Stefon Diggs , edge rusher Harold Landry and others in free agency. New England followed that up by drafting left tackle Will Campbell , running back TreVeyon Henderson , center Jared Wilson and safety Craig Woodson ; all of whom became starters. Comparatively, Cleveland also may have been labeled a winner last offseason. The Browns had a strong rookie class but still found themselves in a position to select No. 6 overall in this year's draft because quarterback play was underwhelming. Who has had the best offseason thus far? There were three teams in consideration for the final spot: the 49ers , Giants and Saints . New York missed the cut because the Dexter Lawrence loss has to be taken into account just as much as its additions. The Giants lost wide receiver Wan'Dale Robinson , tight end Daniel Bellinger and others as well. New Orleans made offensive moves that should upgrade the unit, but the collective may not be as impactful as San Francisco's. San Francisco has Super Bowl aspirations and brought in a couple players familiar with how that journey looks: wide receiver Mike Evans and linebacker Dre Greenlaw . Assuming the Brandon Aiyuk situation is reconciled this offseason, the 49ers should benefit from not having distractions looming over them throughout the season. In addition to Evans, Christian Kirk and De'Zhaun Stribling are likely to be immediate contributors as well. From the 49ers' perspective, the Nate Hobbs signing gives them versatility in the secondary. Defensive tackles Gracen Halton and Osa Odighizuwa should supplement an interior group who had underperformed last season. Edge rusher Romello Height and cornerback Ephesians Prysock add to the depth also. I struggled on how much to weigh all the veteran additions made along the offensive line. Offensive guard Wyatt Teller and offensive tackle Braden Smith have been plus starters in their careers, but are obviously closer to the end of those respective careers than the beginning. First-round center Keylan Rutledge should instill a physical nature the team had been lacking at that position. After accumulating nearly 100 receptions over his first two seasons, wide receiver Tank Dell missed all of the 2025 season recovering from an injury. He is expected to be cleared for training camp and available for Week 1, so that is another offensive addition in the grand scheme. Second-round defensive tackle Kayden McDonald was a perfect fit for the Texans and provides them with a hopeful long-term starter at a position that has largely been occupied by veterans early in head coach DeMeco Ryans ' tenure. Safety Reed Blankenship was the missing puzzle piece to the defense as well. Overall, it was clear the franchise had objectives this offseason and they executed that vision. General manager Adam Peters and head coach Dan Quinn microwaved their initial roster with veterans such as Bobby Wagner , Dorance Armstrong , Austin Ekeler and others, but the team is transitioning. The defensive front was a point of emphasis as the team brought in Odafe Oweh , K'Lavon Chaisson , Leo Chenal , first-round pick Sonny Styles , fifth-round pick Joshua Josephs and others. In another lost season for the Tennessee Titans in 2025, fourth-round rookie wide receiver Elic Ayomanor saw plenty of opportunities and finished as the team's second-leading receiver with 41 catches on his 89 targets for 515 yards and four touchdowns across 16 games (14 starts). The 22-year-old out of Stanford wasn't very efficient, though, with a catch rate of 46.1% and plenty of drops in an inconsistent offense led by rookie quarterback Cameron Ward. While Ayomanor's first year in the league has to be considered a success after he was drafted in the fourth round, he's unlikely to get as many chances to produce going forward as he did last season, considering Tennessee's offseason additions at the wideout position. The Titans added target hog Wan'Dale Robinson in free agency and drafted former Ohio State star pass-catcher Carnell Tate with the fourth overall pick. Veteran Calvin Ridley (leg) is still on the roster, and second-year tight end Gunnar Helm is also expected to have an expanded role in the passing game. Oh, and there's also fellow second-year receiver Chimere Dike to compete with. It's going to be difficult for Ayomanor to rise above his rookie production going forward in Tennessee. The Tennessee Titans unveiled their complete 2026 schedule on Thursday . Robert Saleh’s squad will begin their campaign against the New York Jets in Week 1, and conclude it versus the Houston Texans in Week 18. With the schedule officially revealed, we know when the Titans have their juiciest revenge-game opportunities. The Titans will begin their season against the Jets in a matchup littered with storylines. Saleh will coach against his former employer, as will his assistants Aaron Whitecotton, Tanzel Smart , and Marquand Manuel. Ex-Jets on the Titans roster include John Franklin-Myers , Jermaine Johnson II , Jordan Elliott , Tony Adams , and Michael Carter. Of course the Jets have T’Vondre Sweat and Jarvis Brownlee. The New York Giants matchup might be even juicier than the Jets contest. Titans offensive coordinator Brian Daboll certainly has that one circled, along with assistants Shea Tierney and Carmen Bricillo. The Titans also signed Wan’Dale Robinson, Austin Schlottmann , Daniel Bellinger , and Cor’Dale Flott. On the Giants’ side, they have Dennard Wilson and Brian Callahan on the coaching staff. The Titans briefly pursued John Harbaugh as head coach, who quickly took the Giants gig. Furthermore, they hired Matt Nagy as offensive coordinator after his connection to Mike Borgonzi failed to help him land the Titans job. There’s also the battle of sophomore quarterbacks Cam Ward and Jaxson Dart . Wowza! The Titans arguably hit rock bottom against the Las Vegas Raiders last season. Brian Callahan was dismissed as head coach following that letdown. They’ll play the Raiders again in Week 12 this campaign with sights on proving Saleh has improved the organization. The Raiders have since hired Klint Kubiak and drafted Fernando Mendoza, so they’ve undergone sweeping changes since last year’s Titans meeting. Titans front-office exec Reggie McKenzie is the Raiders’ former GM, and the organization also hired 2025 Titans interim head coach Mike McCoy this offseason

Tracking the Giants schedule release rumors
The next big even on the NFL’s calendar is here and we’ll find out the New York Giants 2026 schedule this week. Vegas doesn’t have much faith in the Giants at the moment. Their current over/under is set at 7.5 games, and they’re considered the least likely team to win the NFC East and fifth-least likely team to win the NFC (+550 and +3300, per FanDuel ) We won’t get the Giants’ full schedule until the official release Thursday night. However, that won’t stop details to emerge as excitement builds. The NFL confirmed Monday morning that the Giants will open their season on Sunday Night Football against the Dallas Cowboys. This marks the 8th time in 15 seasons the Giants have opened against their division rivals. [ Full Story ] No international games for the Giants – Good Morning Football on the NFL Network released the full slate international games, and the Giants won’t be traveling abroad. [ Full Story ] The Giants will host the Tennessee Titans in Week 3. Former Giants head coach Brian Daboll, WR Wan’Dale Robinson, CB Cor’Dale Flott, and TE Daniel Bellinger will all face off against their old team . The Giants are rumored to face the Cleveland Browns in Week 15 on Black Friday (November, 20th) Eight of the Giants’ games are now believed to be known. NY Giants schedule 2026: Brian Daboll, Tennessee Titans at MetLife in Week 3
The New York Giants will reportedly host the Tennessee Titans in Week 3 of the 2026 NFL season , bringing former Giants head coach Brian Daboll , former New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh , and a host of former Giants players back to MetLife Stadium. Daboll was fired midway through the 2025 season by the Giants, having compiled a 20-40-1 won-loss record in 3½ seasons as head coach. The Giants were 2-8 when Daboll was replaced by Mike Kafka . Daboll was hired as Titans’ offensive co0rdinator during the offseason. Several former Giants players joined Daboll in Tennessee as free agents. Wide receiver Wan’Dale Robinson , cornerback C or’Dale Flott , tight end Daniel Bellinger , and center/guard Austin Schlottmann all signed with Tennessee. Former Daboll assistant coaches Carmen Bricillo (offensive line), Shea Tierney (quarterbacks), Cade Knox (offensive assistant/game management), and Marquand Manuel (defensive backs) are also in Tennessee. Manuel also previously coached with the Jets. Saleh went 20-36 as head coach of the Jets from 2021-2024. Giants’ quarterbacks coach Brian Callahan was fired as Titans’ head coach with Tennessee at 1-5 last season. In one-plus years in that role, Callahan had a 4-19 record. New York offensive coordinator Matt Nagy interviewed for the head-coaching role in Tennessee that went to Saleh. The Titans also feature several former Jets players — Jermaine Johnson , Solomon Thomas and John Franklin-Myers . The game will also be a matchup of the two quarterbacks selected in Round 1 last season. Tennessee selected Cam Ward No. 1, and the Giants traded up to take Jaxson Dart at No. 25.
