The Broncos will have cornerback Riley Moss in the lineup against the Seahawks tonight. Moss is not among the team’s inactives despite being questionable due to injured ribs. He missed Sunday’s game with his injury. In four games this season, Moss has recorded five passes defensed, an interception and 16 tackles. His availability is welcome news for the Broncos, who already ruled out cornerback Pat Surtain II (ankle) and safety Talanoa Hufanga (ankle). They elevated safety Taylor Rapp and defensive back Sean Fresch Jr. from the practice squad to the active roster earlier in the day. The team’s other inactives are quarterback Sam Ehlinger, offensive lineman Kage Casey, tight end Dallen Bentley, defensive lineman Jordan Jackson and defensive tackle Tyler Onyedim. The Chiefs and Broncos play the final Week 1 game, meeting on Monday Night Football. The Chiefs already had ruled out offensive tackle Josh Simmons (back) and safety Chamarri Conner (knee). Their healthy scratches are quarterback Garrett Nussmeier, tight end Jared Wiley, offensive tackle Diego Pounds, defensive tackle Bryson Eason and linebacker Jack Pyburn. Nussmeier is the team’s emergency third quarterback. The Broncos did not have any injuries heading into Week 1, so all of their inactives are healthy scratches. The Broncos will play their starters 10-15 snaps in Friday night’s preseason opener against the Falcons. Those starters will not include quarterback Bo Nix. The game is on the artificial turf at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, and Nix is returning from a fractured right ankle. Nix will play in the second and third preseason games, coach Sean Payton said Wednesday. “If we were playing a game — you guys have watched practice — he would [play],” Payton said, via video from Romi Bean of CBS News Colorado. “ He wanted to play . He’ll play the next two weeks. “I think that was probably something that was already decided maybe like a month ago. But if we were playing a game, I would say he would play. You’d have to ask him, but I would say [he’d be] 100 percent.” Nix was injured in the Broncos’ divisional-round playoff victory over the Bills, and the AFC Championship Game was the first game he has missed for injury in his career. With Nix watching from the sideline, Jarrett Stidham and Sam Ehlinger will handle the quarterback duties against the Falcons as they compete for the backup job
