Josh Allen says DJ Moore will be a "huge help" to the Bills
The Bills have not had a 1,000-yard wide receiver since Stefon Diggs departed. Khalil Shakir led the team with 821 receiving yards in 2024 and 719 last season. DJ Moore hasn’t had a 1,000-yard season since 2023, though he had 966 yards in 2024. Josh Allen could have his first 1,000-yard receiver since 2023, and Moore could have his first 1,000-yard season since 2023. “I think what DJ’s going to bring to us, obviously veteran leadership ,” Allen told NFL Media. “He’s been in the league as long as I’ve been in the league, and he’s produced at such a high level for the last eight years. Just really getting to know him. We’re locker mates, and to have that relationship that we already have, it’s a pretty seamless fit. I’m excited to continue to get to work with him. He’s going to be a huge help for us this next season and seasons to come.” Moore joins a wide receivers room that includes Shakir, Tyrell Shavers, Josh Palmer, Keon Coleman and rookie Skyler Bell. Shavers will need to recover from a torn ACL suffered in January during Buffalo's wild-card win over the Jaguars before he has any chance of contributing in 2026. The timing and severity of the injury will almost certainly sideline Shavers to begin the upcoming campaign, and lost offseason reps could hinder his chances of carving out a role under new coach Joe Brady. Despite the setback, Shavers was a consistent rotational presence in 2025, appearing in all 17 regular-season games and posting a career-best 15-245-1 line on 23 targets. What we learned from Day 1 of Buffalo Bills 2026 mandatory minicamp
The Buffalo Bills began the team’s three-day mandatory minicamp on Monday, June 9, with everyone in attendance. With that came plenty of noteworthy reports from various sources covering the team from the fields and press room at One Bills Drive. What stood out most on and off the field as it relates to the team’s current roster? From player injury updates, to tryouts, and everything else in-between, let’s dive in below! Several Bills reporters shared news about an injury to linebacker Dorian Williams, of which ESPN Bills beat reporter Alaina Getzenberg observed Williams “using crutches,” and decidedly not practicing. As WGR 550 Bills reporter Sal Capaccio pointed out, this is to be viewed as a “different injury” for Williams unlikely related to last season’s neck injury during Buffalo’s final playoff game against the Denver Broncos. Head coach Joe Brady told reporters he wasn’t ready to get into the specific details of Williams’ injury and that it was still early, but added that the team anticipates he’ll be back for training camp, and “will (re-evaluate) as necessary,” per Getzenberg . Joining Williams as non-participants on Monday were safety Cole Bishop , defensive back Dorian Strong , right tackle Spencer Brown , plus wide receivers Skyler Bell and Tyrell Shavers . Getzenberg also shared that safety Jordan Hancock and offensive lineman Lloyd Cushenberry were both still wearing red non-contact jerseys to start mandatory minicamp. While rookie pass catcher Bell was sidelined, Capaccio reported that he was “catching passes from the Jugs machine after practice.” In better injury news, outside linebacker Michael Hoecht was seen participating with his defensive teammates during individual drills. Hoecht is working his way back to playing form following a brutal Achilles tear in just his second game with the Bills following a six-game PED suspension to begin the 2025 NFL season. Hoecht’s progress and eventual return to action will be among the most-watched topics for a defense undergoing a scheme shift with new defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard. Joining the team on a tryout basis were a pair of offensive players, offensive lineman Derek Simmons (UDFA out of Oklahoma), and NFL veteran wide receiver Deven Thompkins , who boasts stints in the NFC South with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers , Carolina Panthers , and Atlanta Falcons . Simmons, a sixth-year senior who joined Oklahoma during the 2025 college football season, made eight starts (10 games played) at right tackle for the Sooners last season. The 6’5”, 317-pound Simmons received a degree in sports management (minor in business) from Western Carolina in December 2024, and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in organizational leadership at Oklahoma. Thompkins has appeared in a total of 36 regular-season games (making 2 starts) in four NFL seasons. Overall, Thompkins has made 29 receptions (42 targets) for 162 yards and one touchdown; adding 13 rushes for 94 yards and four fumbles, per Pro Football Reference. Buffalo having Thompkins in for a tryout could have much to do with his special teams return skills. In four seasons with three NFC South teams, Thompkins has totaled 42 punt returns for 368 yard (long of 51); adding 45 kick returns for 1,008 yards (long of 54). Entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Buccaneers following the 2022 NFL Draft, Thompkins was viewed as an explosive yet very undersized athlete, standing just 5’8” and weighing 155 pounds. As just mentioned though, Thompkins brings plenty of speed to the pro game, having recorded a 4.35-second 40-yard dash at his pro day. For comparison, former Bills wide receiver/return man Roscoe Parrish was 5’9” and 175 pounds. Known NFL small men in running backs/returners Dave Meggett and Vai Sikahema would still tower over Thompkins. 91 Buffalo Bills in 91 days: WR Mac Dalena
Today’s edition of “91 Buffalo Bills players in 91 days” was supposed to cover cornerback Daryl Porter Jr. However, as is the fickle nature of the NFL, Porter was released on June 1. I had assumed that Porter had little chance of making the final roster, hence his early placement in the series, but his release came even sooner than I had anticipated. Now, we turn our focus instead to the man who replaced Porter on the 91-man roster. He doesn’t play defense — he’s a wide receiver — but he is an intriguing young prospect, and someone whose name flows very well with the most annoying dance craze of the 1990s. Without further adieu, let’s talk about a former Fresno State Bulldog looking to make his mark in the NFL. _____________________________________________________________________________ Name: Mac Dalena Number: Unknown Position: WR Height/Weight: 5’10”, 180 pounds Age: 24 (25 on 10/4/2026) Experience/Draft: 1; signed with the Kansas City Chiefs following the 2025 NFL Draft College: Fresno State Acquired: Signed with Bills on 6/1/2026 Financial situation (per Spotrac): Unknown, but I assume it’s a one-year deal at the minimum, which is approximately $885,000 for the season. 2025 Recap: Dalena spent the offseason and preseason with the Chiefs last year. In three preseason games, he saw four targets and made two catches for nine yards. He did not make the final roster, nor did he sign with Kansas City’s practice squad. He eventually landed with the Seattle Seahawks , signing with their practice squad on November 4. He was released from the practice squad just four days later. The New York Jets signed Dalena to a reserve/future contract in January, but they released him on May 10. Positional outlook: Dalena is one of 13 receivers on the current roster. Khalil Shakir , DJ Moore , Tyrell Shavers , Joshua Palmer , Keon Coleman , Stephen Gosnell, Trent Sherfield , Mecole Hardman Jr., Gabriel Benyard, Skyler Bell, Ja’Mori Maclin, and Jalen Virgil are the others. 2026 Offseason: Dalena just signed with Buffalo, but he is healthy and ready to participate in minicamp and training camp. 2026 Season outlook: Dalena offers some promise as a slot receiver, as he’s definitely quick enough to operate in that area of the field despite his lack of size. At his pro day in 2024, Dalena ran a 4.43-second 40-yard dash, and completed the three-cone drill in just 6.89 seconds. He also showed off a 38.5” vertical and a 10’5” leap in the broad jump. Dalena has a small frame and short arms, so he doesn’t offer much in the way of contested-catch value, but he does offer enough speed and quickness where he could parlay a strong summer into a stint on Buffalo’s practice squad. I say “practice squad” and not the 53-man roster because there isn’t anything to suggest that the Bills will go with a soon-to-be 25-year-old as one of the final wideouts who makes the roster, and nor should they. This is a Buffalo team that needs to be in win-now mode, and unless Dalena comes in and sets the practice field on fire against the first-team defense, he isn’t going to make the team. Could he slot in as a potential backup for Shakir? He may show enough promise in head coach Joe Brady’s offense where that could be a long-term goal, but Dalena is unlikely to be a solution for the team in the short-term. Dalena has proven that he can be a difference-maker on offense before. As a senior at Fresno State, he caught 64 passes for 1,065 yards and eight scores. He led the Bulldogs in all three categories. For his efforts, Dalena was named a Second-Team All-American by HERO Sports, and he was also First-Team All-Mountain West. If Dalena wants to prove his mettle, he’ll have to compete on special teams and show that his field-stretching speed outweighs his slight stature. He’s likely a camp body, but he could be a fun player to watch during the summer if he finds some open field

My first 53-man projection of the 2026 season is here, fellow rumblers. Let me be upfront: this is a way-too-early look, before a single preseason snap has been played and before training camp opens in late July. Things will change. That’s precisely what makes this exercise worth doing. What I can tell you right now is that Brandon Beane built this roster with more genuine depth than the Bills have had in years — particularly along the defensive front — and that identifying the final ten roster spots is legitimately difficult. Positions that were afterthoughts in previous offseasons are now actual competitions. Welcome to OTAs, where the picture starts to come into focus. Here’s my initial 53, the guys I would pick. The unquestioned best player on this team, an MVP-level quarterback even when you feel like he could’ve been playing better, and the primary reason this franchise is among the contenders every year. The system around him changes — Joe Brady is now the head coach, not the offensive coordinator, and the offense should look and feel different in his year one with full command — but the foundation is unchanged. What has changed from last year is the backup. I’m going with two quarterbacks and dropping Buechele to the practice squad. Kyle Allen, signed as a free agent in March, gets the job. Buechele signed a reserve/futures deal and has been around this organization long enough to be an effective scout team option — that’s a practice squad role, not a 53-man role. That roster spot makes a difference somewhere else on this roster. Cut: Shane Buechele Starters : James Cook, Jackson Acker (FB) Backups: Ty Johnson, Ray Davis Analysis: Cook has established himself as one of the league’s more dynamic weapons. He demands a specific game plan from every defensive coordinator who faces him, and there’s still room for improvement as a pass catcher coming from the backfield, something new OC Pete Carmichael should bring [... truncated ...]

Can Keon Coleman be Dropped in Dynasty Fantasy Football?
Buffalo Bills wide receiver Keon Coleman is coming off another disappointing season in which he caught a modest 38 passes for 404 yards and four touchdowns. He didn't live up to his expectations as a former first-round pick, ranking as the WR60 in PPR leagues. He wasn't a worthwhile fantasy starter, and yet that was still the best fantasy finish of his young career. The second-year pass-catcher ended up missing four games due to performance and disciplinary reasons, falling out of favor with former head coach Sean McDermott. While McDermott is no longer in Buffalo, new head coach Joe Brady was the team's offensive coordinator last year and presumably has similar feelings about Coleman as his predecessor. The elephant in the room is the fact that Buffalo went out and traded for DJ Moore this offseason. At best, Coleman is stuck behind Moore and Khalil Shakir on the depth chart. However, he could also end up behind Tyrell Shavers and any potential rookie draft pick. Furthermore, there's a real chance that he could finish with fewer targets than tight end Dawson Knox, tight end Dalton Kincaid, or both. Just two years into his NFL career, it seems like Coleman needs a new chapter and a fresh start. For now, though, he remains a Bill, and his path to any sort of fantasy relevance is highly improbable. He should be stashed in deeper fantasy leagues and dropped in shallower formats
