Engram has just one catch over the Broncos' last two matchups, a 17-yard reception during a Week 2 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. He finished a Week 3 win over the Los Angeles Rams with two targets, but failed to haul either of them in. Engram is RotoBaller's 30th-ranked tight end and is projected to score just five fantasy points against a San Francisco 49ers defense that allowed Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride to record nine receptions for 75 yards last week. Despite a solid day for McBride, however, the 49ers have done a nice job defending against opposing tight ends this year. San Francisco has allowed just 4.4 fantasy points per game to players at the position through three weeks. Denver Broncos tight end Evan Engram is not a strong play in Week 2 as Denver faces off against a Jacksonville Jaguars pass defense that gave up just three catches for 35 yards to Browns tight ends last week. Engram finished Week 1 as the Broncos' leader in yards receiving (43) and receptions (4), while he also recorded a touchdown reception. He was targeted five times by quarterback Bo Nix, who struggled to get going in a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Nix totaled just 131 yards passing and a quarterback rating of 13.9 in the loss, as Denver's offense looked abysmal. Until the Broncos prove they can break out of their slow start to the year, fantasy managers would be wise to tread lightly when considering inserting Evan Engram into the starting lineup. Even after a fruitful performance last week, Engram remains the 25th-ranked tight end in RotoBaller's Week 2 rankings

Engram caught four passes on five targets for 43 yards and a touchdown during the Broncos' 31-10 loss to the Chiefs on Monday. It was a miserable performance by the Broncos' offense in Monday's regular-season opener, though Engram helped Denver tie things up at 7-7 late in the first quarter after hauling in a 19-yard touchdown pass from Bo Nix. Engram led the Broncos in receiving yards and finished second in targets behind Pat Bryant (six). Jaylen Waddle and Courtland Sutton were both held in check by the Chiefs' defense, and while Engram isn't considered a centerpiece to the Broncos' offense, the veteran tight end could thrive in games against teams that opt to home in on Denver's top wideouts. Up next is a Week 2 tilt against the Jaguars, whose defense limited second-year tight end Harold Fannin to a 2-21-0 receiving line on only two targets
