The Bengals signed safety Russ Yeast to their active roster, replacing tight end Tanner Hudson on injured reserve
The Bengals have opened up a spot on their 53-man roster as they return from their bye week. They announced that tight end Tanner Hudson has been placed on injured reserve. Hudson’s agent announced last week that Hudson will miss the rest of the season after he tore his pectoral in Week 5. Hudson had seven catches for 33 yards, including a touchdown in Cincinnati’s Week 5 win over the Dolphins. Hudson is in his fourth season with the Bengals and his eighth season as an NFL player. Mike Gesicki, Erick All, Drew Sample, and Jack Endries are the team’s remaining tight ends. They could add to that number whenever they decide to fill the opening Hudson leaves on the roster
Hudson has caught exactly 19 passes in each of the past two regular seasons. The 31-year-old tight end is set to reprise his depth role for the Bengals, battling Erick All for snaps and targets behind Mike Gesicki and Drew Sample. Cincinnati has one of the NFL's most prolific passing offenses, but Hudson isn't a relevant part of it
The Bengals have lost a member of their tight end corps for the rest of the season. Tight end Tanner Hudson’s agent told Charlie Clifford of WLWT that Hudson is out for the year due to a torn pectoral. The injury occurred during the Bengals’ win over the Dolphins in Week 5. Hudson caught a two-yard touchdown pass in the 31-24 win and had three catches for 14 yards overall. He had four catches for 19 yards in the first four weeks of the season. Hudson is in his fourth season with the Bengals and is set to be a free agent in 2027. Mike Gesicki, Erick All, Drew Sample, and Jack Endries are the team’s remaining tight ends

The Bengals announced several roster moves on Tuesday afternoon. They confirmed the previously reported signing of wide receiver Mitchell Tinsley off of the Texans’ practice squad and that they have waived wide receiver Ke’Shawn Williams. They also placed cornerback Jalen Davis on injured reserve and signed tight end Tanner Hudson off of their practice squad. Davis injured his hamstring in Sunday’s loss to the Steelers. Davis started two of the team’s three games this season and made 10 tackles. He’ll have to miss at least four games before he will be able to return to the lineup. Hudson has played in two games this year and he has three catches for 17 yards. He played in 38 games for the team over the past three seasons
