Former Steelers QB Kenny Pickett ‘begged’ Eagles to trade him
It’s been an eventful two years for former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett. After the Steelers went 3-0 down the stretch to close the 2023 season under Mason Rudolph , clinching a playoff berth in the process, the writing appeared to be on the wall for the University of Pittsburgh product. The Steelers signed Russell Wilson on the first day of the 2024 league year, which led to Pickett requesting a trade. Pittsburgh sent him to Philadelphia , and he was the backup quarterback to Jalen Hurts when the Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX. In the 2025 offseason, Pickett was traded once again, as he was dealt to the Cleveland Browns for a fourth-round pick. According to Pickett’s former college coach, Pat Narduzzi, the trade away from Philadelphia is a move that Pickett wanted very badly. “The Eagles did not want to trade him,” Narduzzi said on 99.9 The Fan . “He begged to be traded because he wanted to compete, and he felt like he wasn’t going to have a chance to beat out Jalen Hurts.” Pickett competed throughout the spring and summer of 2025 to be the Browns’ starter alongside Joe Flacco , Dillon Gabriel , and Shedeur Sanders . When it was made clear Flacco would be the starter, the Browns traded Pickett to the Las Vegas Raiders . He now finds himself with the Carolina Panthers after signing as a free agent. Bengals have 2nd best QB situation in NFL, per CBS analyst
Wherever you place Joe Burrow among the best QBs in the NFL, there’s no denying he’s in the top five. Meanwhile, you can make a strong argument that his backup, Joe Flacco, is the best thrower of footballs coming off the bench. So it’s no surprise that CBS’ Jordan Dajani has the Bengals QB room as the second best in the NFL in his ranking of the five best and five worst QB situations . Here’s some of what he wrote about Burrow: When he remained healthy in 2024, the former No. 1 overall pick led the NFL with 4,918 passing yards and 43 touchdowns while throwing just nine interceptions… Burrow is actually the only quarterback in NFL history to register a 100+ passer rating while making zero playoff starts in a three-season span. He’s also been the most-sacked quarterback (242) since entering the league in 2020, if we include sacks taken in the playoffs. Dajani then explained the value of Flacco, writing: The Bengals also have a former Super Bowl MVP and Comeback Player of the Year in their quarterback room, Joe Flacco — who made the Pro Bowl as an alternate last year. The 40-year-old was starting to look his age with the Browns at the start of 2025, but was rejuvenated by the trade to Cincinnati in October. In his second start with the Bengals, Flacco threw for 342 yards, three touchdowns, zero interceptions and registered his 30th career game-winning drive in an upset of the rival Pittsburgh Steelers . In Week 9, Flacco became the fifth player in NFL history to throw for 470 yards and four touchdowns while scoring 40 points … in a loss. The San Francisco 49ers won the top spot for QB rooms on account of starter Brock Purdy and backup Mac Jones . Third place went to the Kansas City Chiefs , fourth place to the Los Angeles Rams , and fifth place to the Baltimore Ravens. Meanwhile, Dajani named the Cleveland Browns’ QB room the worst in the NFL on account of the “confusion and chaos” of having the $230 million man ( Deshaun Watson ) on the same roster as the somehow-Pro Bowler Shedeur Sanders . Our look back doesn’t depend on just one criteria for our rankings. We take into consideration things like how big the game was for the organization, how memorable the game was, games that had unusual events take place, games that are a part of NFL lore, Cowboys firsts, and games where the Cowboys just plain dominated. Variety is the spice of life and we have all different kind of Cowboys games to review. At the bottom, we’ll link each day of the countdown so you can go back and check out any you missed. Get ready for an emotional entry for Day 55 of our 100-day countdown to kickoff, when we revisit one of the most soul touching nights in Cowboys history. This was the final game ever played at Texas Stadium, the building with the hole in the roof and decades of Cowboys memories attached to it. Dallas had a playoff push, a national stage, and a postgame ceremony ready to honor the old stadium. The Cowboys actually started the night the right way. DeMarcus Ware forced a Joe Flacco fumble on Baltimore’s opening possession, and Dallas quickly turned the short field into a two-yard Tashard Choice touchdown. For a moment, it looked like the stadium might get the storybook ending everyone wanted. But Baltimore slowly took control. Matt Stover kept stacking field goals, hitting four on the night, and the Ravens led 9-7 at halftime despite not scoring an offensive touchdown. In the third quarter, Flacco found Derrick Mason for a 13-yard touchdown, pushing Baltimore ahead 16-7 and putting Dallas in chase mode. The fourth quarter is what made the game unforgettable, and painful. Nick Folk cut the deficit to 16-10, then Stover answered to make it 19-10. Tony Romo finally gave Dallas life with a seven-yard touchdown pass to Terrell Owens, trimming Baltimore’s lead to 19-17 with 3:50 left. The Cowboys needed one defensive stop to give Texas Stadium one last chance at a miracle. Instead, the Ravens delivered one of the cruelest closing stretches Dallas has ever allowed. Willis McGahee broke free for a 77-yard touchdown run to make it 26-17. Romo answered again, finding Jason Witten for a 21-yard touchdown that cut the score to 26-24 with 1:36 left. Then, on Baltimore’s very next offensive snap, Le’Ron McClain ripped off an 82-yard touchdown run, sealing the game and silencing the old stadium for good. Romo threw for 252 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions, while Choice gave Dallas a tough 90 rushing yards and the opening score. But the Cowboys could not overcome the late defensive collapse. Baltimore ran for 265 yards as a team, with McClain and McGahee both going over 100 yards, and the two backbreaking fourth-quarter runs became the lasting football memory of Texas Stadium’s final night. This game belongs on the countdown because it was the end of an era. Texas Stadium opened in 1971, hosted championship teams, Hall of Famers, playoff classics, Thanksgiving memories, and some of the most iconic moments in franchise history. The Cowboys did not get the farewell they wanted, but the night still matters because it closed the book on the most famous home the franchise has ever had. And that is always worth remembering, making the game a hugely iconic moment in franchise history. We will never forget you Texas Stadium. This was the last NFL game ever played at Texas Stadium. The Cowboys held a postgame ceremony afterward, with legends including Roger Staubach, Randy White, Mel Renfro and Emmitt Smith among those tied to the farewell coverage. Andrei Iosivas Carries Little Standalone Fantasy Value into 2026
Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Andrei Iosivas has spent his first three seasons buried on a depth chart behind Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. While he's shown the occasional pop for fantasy, most notably as a red zone option in 2024, the insurmountable talent at the top of the room has him entering the final year of his rookie deal as little more than a role player. While dynasty managers with the luxury to do so should continue to hold him in hopes of finding greener pastures through free agency in 2027, Iosivas is not a player who should factor into 2026 redraft plans. Currently RotoBaller's WR91, the former sixth-round pick should be readily available on waiver wires should an unfortunate injury force him into a more consequential role

Cam Skattebo's failed Fanatics Fest backflip tempts fate
For some football players, the attitude that makes them great on the field can tempt them to do dumb things off the field. Case in point: Giants running back Cam Skattebo. In November, not long after he suffered a season-ending ankle injury, he was pushing and shoving at a WWE event. Now that his ankle has healed, Skattebo wanted to prove it during an appearance at Fanatics Fest. After pulling up the leg of his pants to expose the ankle that had been dislocated (along with a tibia fracture), Skattebo did a backflip . He didn’t stick the landing. Skattebo stumbled backward and fell, before springing up and acting like he meant to do that. As many have suggested, Giants coach John Harbaugh may not be thrilled when he sees the video. And while some have pointed out that Harbaugh once yelled at quarterback Joe Flacco for riding a skateboard during the playoff run that resulted in a Ravens Super Bowl win, it wasn’t Harbaugh — it was former G.M. Ozzie Newsome . Regardless, it’s a valid concern. Even if Skattebo will eventually be taking much greater risks with his health when it’s time to get hit and tackled, there’s no reason to add to the risks by doing other things that could result in an injury

Robert Griffin III hints at a Netflix documentary on the day he tore his ACL
Five years after former Washington quarterback Robert Griffin III announced, then scrapped, a tell-all book about his time with an inherently dysfunctional franchise, Griffin is apparently ready to tell his story. Or at least part of it. Griffin, while wearing a full uniform of the franchise he played for in 2012 (including a jersey with the abandoned name and a helmet with the expunged logo), moves his 2012 NFL offensive rookie of the year trophy from a chair and then sits down. A graphic on the screen says, “Preparing for my Netflix Documentary about why they kept running me when I only had one leg against Seattle in 2012.” He’s referring to the wild-card game against the Seahawks, during which his heavily-braced right leg gave out. Griffin originally injured his knee in Week 14 against the Ravens. After missing only one game, he returned for the final two weeks of the regular season and the playoff game against the Seahawks. His career wasn’t the same after that. He started 13 games in 2013 and seven in 2014. By 2015, the team had put him in bubble wrap to avoid his injury-guaranteed fifth-year option for 2016, playing Kirk Cousins instead. Griffin then spent one year with the Browns and three with the Ravens before his NFL career ended. It’s unclear whether the documentary will cover other aspects of Griffin’s time in Washington. His book would have apparently touched on a variety of topics, including (as he said in 2021) “ my experience with sexual harassment in Washington ,” adding in a video announcing the book: “I’m gonna open your eyes to the sexual harassment that permeated the walls of that building .” Griffin later had “ second thoughts ” about the book project. His agent denied that the decision was influenced by any direct or indirect pressure from the team, the league, or Griffin’s employer at the time, ESPN

The Cincinnati Bengals have done a masterful job of building this offense. Part of that gets recognized as they get voted as having the No. 1 Triplets (quarterback, wide receiver and running back) in the NFL. It is safe to say that you can easily argue Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase as the best quarterback and wide receiver Duo in the NFL. Realistically, Matthew Stafford and Puka Nacua are the only other pair that comes close. But Chase Brown proving he is a good quality running back gets Cincinnati vaulted to the top spot in this particular category. You could even make the argument that the Triplets tag is holding the Bengals back here. If it were simply the top three offensive players on the list Tee Higgins would take Brown’s place, and it is hard to assume voters would have a hard time determining who the top team would be then. Ja’Marr Chase gets a 99 overall rating in Madden NFL 27
Ja’Marr Chase is one of the most talented players in the NFL, and the makers of Madden NFL 27 have reinforced that idea with their latest player rankings. The star Cincinnati Bengals receiver received an overall Madden grade of 99 , one of only six players to get such a high grade. This comes following a year in which he only had Joe Burrow for eight games. Chase somehow managed to still put up 125 receptions for 1,412 yards and eight touchdowns. A lot of that production came with 40-year-old Joe Flacco at the helm. In fact, in their first three games together, Chase caught 38 passes from Flacco on 54 targets. If he can stay healthy, Chase should go down as the greatest receiver ever to wear the orange and black and one of the very best in the history of the game. Chase Brown a Locked-in RB1 for 2026
It took Cincinnati Bengals running back Chase Brown until Week 7 of the 2025 season to post a weekly fantasy finish inside the top 20, but from that point forward, he never looked back. Brown finished as the RB19 or better in each of his final 11 games, only twice finishing outside the top 15. The team's mid-season trade for veteran quarterback Joe Flacco helped to steady a faltering offense without three-time Pro Bowler Joe Burrow, and Brown was perhaps the biggest benefactor, finishing as the RB7 from that point forward. With Burrow at full health and Flacco back under contract to back him up, Brown's high floor remains very much intact, while a projected philosophical shift could help to raise his ceiling in 2026. Brown was one of the league's most explosive runners when the team went under center, but with the Bengals ranking 31st in the league in that category, he rarely had the opportunity to take advantage. Reports out of minicamp have suggested that the team could mix in more under-center runs, and even a modest increase, along with the offensive consistency allowed by the presumed health at quarterback, could have Brown flirting with a top-five finish. Heading into the year, he is RotoBaller's RB10, and drafters should again feel comfortable making Brown their RB1 in 2026
