Sam Darnold’s Super Bowl-winning Seattle Seahawks just announced their official 2026 schedule, effectively mapping out a path for a second consecutive trip to the Big Game. This time around, they’ll go head-to-head with perennial contenders, divisional rivals and a few wild cards that could surprise the defending champions. Just a few of the most notable home game showdowns at Lumen Field include a Big Game rematch with the New England Patriots to open the season on Wednesday, Sept. 9, an a NFC Divisional-Round rematch opposite the San Francisco 49ers (Oct. 11) and an NFC Championship game rematch against the Los Angeles Rams on Christmas. Other high-profile home games on the itinerary include meetings with Justin Herbert ’s Los Angeles Chargers (Oct. 4), Patrick Mahomes ’ Kansas City Chiefs (Oct. 25), Caleb Williams ’ Chicago Bears (Nov. 2) and Dak Prescott’s Dallas Cowboys (Dec. 7). According to Yahoo! Sports , they have the 14th-toughest schedule out of all 32 NFL teams based on opponents’ 2025 winning percentage. “It’s a good bet at least one or two of the teams they face will be more impressive than expected, but also that some will be worse than expected,” SB Nation noted in a preview of the ’26 season. “If Seattle can continue with its defensive dominance next season, they should be in contention for another playoff trip.” In order to make that happen, general manager John Schneider had an unusually busy offseason for a Super Bowl champion-winning club. On top of extending two-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba through the 2031 season and re-signing Rashid Shaheed and Josh Jobe , the ‘Hawks also signed former Packers running back Emanuel Wilson (to replace Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III , who bolted to the Chiefs) and safety Rodney Thomas II. “[He’s] this 230-pound guy with great feet,” Schneider said about Wilson. “… and he gives us a little bit of something different. He’s a heavy runner.” If you want to be part of “The 12” and see the Seahawks defend their title live, tickets are available for all eight 2026 home games at Seattle’s Lumen Field as of today on SeatGeek.
