Seattle Seahawks rookie first-round running back Jadarian Price (lower body) was back in pads at training camp practice on Tuesday, according to Seahawks reporter Corbin K. Smith. Price missed practice over the weekend with what was deemed a minor lower-body injury, and now he's back in the fold. Despite the 22-year-old's return to the practice field, we would not be surprised if he's held out of the team's preseason opener this Saturday against the Dallas Cowboys. George Holani was listed as Seattle's RB1 on their first unofficial depth chart, but Price is expected to have a big role in the Seahawks' backfield in his first year in the NFL, at least until Zach Charbonnet (knee) can return from a torn ACL that he suffered last postseason. The Notre Dame product must also contend with Emanuel Wilson, but the rookie has plenty of explosiveness and big-play ability to quickly become the most exciting option in the team's backfield while Charbonnet is sidelined. Passing-game work probably won't be there, though, which limits Price's fantasy price to more of a low-end RB2/high-end RB3/flex

The Seahawks announced a pair of roster moves on Saturday. They signed running back Justin Jones to the active roster. Linebacker Power Echols was waived in a corresponding move. Echols signed with the team on Friday, so it was a very brief stint in Seattle for him. Jones took part in the Seahawks’ rookie minicamp earlier this offseason. He did not get the ball much while at Auburn, but was a regular on special teams and blocked a punt against Arkansas last season. The Seahawks also signed running back T.J. Harden this week. We should find out more on the severity of Price's injury, but it doesn't sound all that serious. But if this injury were to linger for the first-rounder out of Notre Dame, both George Holani and Emanuel Wilson would become more interesting in fantasy football while the Seahawks wait for Zach Carbonnet (knee) to recover from his ACL tear last postseason. Early in training camp, Price has been behind Holani, but he has seen reps with the first-team offense and figures to be involved early on in his rookie season with Charbonnet sidelined. The 22-year-old should be the Seahawks' most attractive fantasy RB until Charbonnet returns, and managers should consider him a low-end RB2/high-end RB3/flex target with plenty of long-term upside. If fully healthy, Price should earn most of Seattle's backfield touches, but when Charbonnet returns, it could be a different story

He started training camp on the active/physically unable to perform list, and it seems likely he will begin the season on the reserve/PUP list. Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald provided an update on the running back’s rehab. “It’s just a progression that you’ve got to be able to do to get your body ready to play, especially at the running back position,” Macdonald said, via video from Brian Nemhauser of hawkblogger.com. “He’s going through it, hitting his hurdles, and we’re rolling. “We’ll see what the timetable is and how quickly he comes back.” Charbonnet injured his knee on his fifth carry in the divisional round of the playoffs after running for 730 yards and 12 touchdowns on 184 carries in the regular season. The Seahawks drafted running back Jadarian Price in the first round as a replacement for Kenneth Walker, who won the Super Bowl MVP award before leaving for Kansas City in the offseason
