A Mixed Bag for Malik Willis in Joint Practice
In what was his first competitive work against another team since taking over as the starting quarterback of the Miami Dolphins, Malik Willis showcased some of the highs and lows that fantasy managers will likely need to endure for the 2026 season. In a joint practice with the Commanders on Wednesday, Willis found success, as he has through much of camp, when targeting rookie Caleb Douglas, who was recently named a starter and praised before practice by head coach Jeff Hafley. Willis also threw an interception to Mike Sanristil that was returned for a touchdown. Those types of ups and downs are to be expected from a first-time starter on one of the more talent-depleted offenses in the league, but an area highlighted by team writer Travis Wingfield, and the reason Willis is worthy of a late-round selection in single-quarterback drafts, is his rushing upside. Wingfield notes that Willis broke contain several times and scrambled for what would have been lengthy gains in a real game scenario. Willis provides one of the highest rushing floors in the league, and if he can simply keep things on track offensively while avoiding costly mistakes, he has a chance to far surpass his current ADP of QB21

Two proposed trade ideas for Miami Dolphins
With Miami Dolphins training camp starting in just about a week and a half, the team is gearing up to return to the practice fields in sunny Miami Gardens. After a flurry of moves this offseason, the organization’s roster looks much different than it has in recent memory. However, the team still has time to put the finishing touches on their facelift ahead of the 2026 NFL season — and Bleacher Report has a couple of ideas as to how the Dolphins could continue to reshape their roster under the watchful eye of new general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan. Here’s what Moe Moton proposed for Miami. Trade mid-round pick for Carolina Panthers WR Xavier Legette Based on overall career production, the Dolphins have the worst wide receiver corps. If they want to see quarterback Malik Willis make strides as a first-time, full-time starter, the club should look to bolster its pass-catching group. Miami could inquire about Legette, who may need a change of scenery. Through two seasons, Legette has caught 84 passes for 860 yards and seven touchdowns in 31 contests. As a former first-round pick, he’s underwhelmed, but a new opportunity to be the No. 1 wideout in Miami could lead to increased production. Trade RB Jaylen Wright to Houston Texans for late-round pick The Texans acquired running back David Montgomery from the Detroit Lions to bolster their ground attack. He’s entering his age-29 term after sharing the backfield with Jahmyr Gibbs for three seasons. Houston should add another early-down ball-carrier to split touches with Montgomery. Last season, Woody Marks averaged an inefficient 3.6 yards per carry as the team’s lead rusher. Houston can inquire about Wright, who may be expendable on the Miami Dolphins’ rebuilding squad. He’s in competition with Ollie Gordon II for the No. 2 spot behind De’Von Achane. Will Malik Washington Matter for Fantasy Even as the Dolphins WR1?
When the Miami Dolphins reconvene for training camp at the end of the month, they will do so with one of the league's most unproven wide receiver rooms, giving third-year veteran Malik Washington a chance to earn an important starting role. Washington caught 46 passes for the Dolphins in 2025, which trails only De'Von Achane among the handful of players still with the team, while free agent acquisitions Jalen Tolbert, Tutu Atwell, and Terrace Marshall Jr. combined for only 24 receptions last season. Miami spent three of its 13 picks in the 2026 NFL Draft on receivers, but with the headliner of that group, Chris Bell, still recovering from the torn ACL he suffered in his final game with Louisville, some of Washington's stiffest competition for a spot atop the depth chart could come from third-rounder Caleb Douglas and fifth-rounder Kevin Coleman Jr. With a new coaching staff and a new quarterback in Malik Willis, the Dolphins will be rebuilding their offense from scratch. If Washington can earn his way into a featured role, he's a smart bet to outperform his current ADP of WR70, though how much of a difference that will actually mean for fantasy is still up for debate, as Miami projects to have one of the lowest-scoring offenses in the league

Caleb Douglas Not Yet Worth a Redraft Pick
Miami Dolphins rookie wide receiver Caleb Douglas has a path to snaps, but that alone does not make him a redraft sleeper. Miami selected him 75th overall after he posted 54 catches for 846 yards and seven touchdowns at Texas Tech, his second straight season with at least 54 receptions and 840 yards. At 6-foot-4 with a 4.39-second 40, Douglas brings a size-speed profile that stands out in an unsettled receiver room. The opportunity is real after the Dolphins released Tyreek Hill and traded Jaylen Waddle. So is the competition. Malik Washington, Jalen Tolbert, Tutu Atwell, Jalen Reagor, and fellow rookies Chris Bell (knee) and Kevin Coleman Jr. are all fighting for work. Miami is also replacing Tua Tagovailoa after releasing him and signing Malik Willis. Douglas is currently WR107 and 265th overall in RotoBaller's PPR rankings. That is deep-league territory, not a player fantasy managers need to force onto standard rosters. Douglas is worth tracking through training camp, especially if he earns regular outside snaps, but he can stay undrafted in most 12-team leagues for now

Wright missed time early in the 2025 season with a knee injury, but finished the year with 332 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns on 75 touches across 10 games. As long as star Dolphins running back De'Von Achane remains healthy, it will be difficult for Wright to earn enough touches to provide fantasy-relevant production. However, the 23-year-old was fairly productive in a reserve role upon his return, finishing the year with 332 scrimmage yards and two touchdowns on 75 touches across 10 games played. Wright's path to regular playing time in Miami is blocked by star Dolphins running back De'Von Achane, whom the team recently signed to a four-year, $68 million extension. Still, Wright passed fellow Dolphins back Ollie Gordon II on the team's depth chart last season and projects to open 2026 as Miami's RB2. Dolphins work out free agent running back
The Miami Dolphins are in search of a running back to add to their roster following the sudden retirement of undrafted free agent Le’Veon Moss just four days following his signing in Miami. Compounding that issue is the shoulder injury starting back De’Von Achane is still rehabbing from — meaning the Dolphins are short on bodies to tote the rock during offseason practices. On Thursday, it was reported that the Dolphins worked out free agent running back Zamir White according to ESPN insider Jeremy Fowler. White was a fourth-round selection of the Las Vegas Raiders during the 2022 NFL Draft and has spent his entire four-year career with the organization. During that time, he amassed 198 rushing attempts for 736 yards (3.7 yards per carry) and two touchdowns. He’s added 25 receptions for 152 receiving yards and 0 scores. White is a 5’11”, 227 lb bowling ball with the nickname “ Zeus .” His former coach, Pete Carroll, has affectionately called him a “ hammer ” when it comes to his playing style. Behind Achane, Miami has Jaylen Wright (5”10”, 208 lb) and Ollie Gordon II (6’2”, 227 lb). If White is signed, he would fit the mold of the physical, power back behind the electric Achane. A sixth-round pick in the 2025 draft after a very disappointing final season for Oklahoma State, Gordon saw double-digit carries only once in 17 regular-season games for the Dolphins while working behind De'Von Achane and battling Jaylen Wright for the No. 2 role. Gordon's 2.8 yards per carry was partially a product of his short-yardage usage, and his 11.7 carries per broken tackle rate would have ranked in the top 10 in the league if he'd seen enough volume to qualify, not far behind Achane's 10.8 mark and ahead of the likes of Jonathan Taylor (12.0) and Bijan Robinson (13.0). Gordon has a battering-ram build but managed just a 4.61 40-yard time at the combine, and he fits best as a back who can run between the tackles and use his plus vision and power to break into the second level. While Mike McDaniel is gone, new offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik is an internal hire and Miami's scheme may not change much. As long as Achane stays healthy, though, Gordon's best route to fantasy utility could come at the goal line

Ollie Gordon II Fighting for a Roster Spot?
Miami Dolphins running back Ollie Gordon II's roster spot isn't guaranteed ahead of the 2026 NFL season. Gordon entered this week's draft as the team's No. 3 running back behind De'Von Achane and Jaylen Wright. While the Dolphins didn't draft a running back, they did still bring in competition for Gordon by signing Texas A&M running back Le'Veon Moss as an undrafted free agent. Moss' best season at school came in 2024, when he rushed for 765 rushing yards, 141 receiving yards, and 10 rushing touchdowns. As the returner on this roster, Gordon has an early advantage over Moss for the third running back spot, but the true test will come during training camp and the preseason. Because the Dolphins have a new-look coaching staff and front office, Gordon may have to prove himself as much as Moss or any other player on the roster. The Oklahoma State product had a modest 231 scrimmage yards, but he added four touchdowns along the way. As it stands, Gordon is the RB69 in RotoBaller's latest dynasty fantasy football rankings
