Titans to waive QB Will Levis
The Titans are waiving quarterback Will Levis, Paul Kuharsky of paulkuharsky.com reports. Levis’ departure leaves Mitchell Trubisky and Hendon Hooker behind Cam Ward. The Titans traded up to take the Kentucky quarterback with the first pick of the second round in 2023. The team had hoped he would succeed Ryan Tannehill, but three different head coaches didn’t help his development. He served as the Titans’ starting quarterback in 2024, but Tennessee drafted Ward in 2025, and Levis spent the season on injured reserve. Levis missed all of last season after undergoing season-ending surgery on his throwing shoulder to fix the AC joint. Levis, 27, started 21 games, going 5-16 while throwing 21 touchdowns and 16 interceptions and losing 10 fumbles

The Tennessee Titans are waiving quarterback Will Levis, according to Paul Kuharsky. Tennessee traded up to select Levis 33rd overall in 2023, but he never established himself as the long-term answer. He made 21 starts over his first two seasons, throwing for 3,899 yards, 21 touchdowns and 16 interceptions while the Titans went 5-16. Levis then missed the entire 2025 season after undergoing surgery on his throwing shoulder. By the time he returned, Cam Ward was firmly entrenched as the starter and Mitchell Trubisky had been brought in as the primary backup. Levis got one final extended look Saturday against Chicago, completing 14 of 22 passes for 143 yards but failing to lead a touchdown drive. Kuharsky reports that Tennessee had hoped Levis might generate trade interest, but nothing developed. The former second-round pick will now look for another opportunity after falling out of the Titans' quarterback plans

Cam Ward completed 59.8 percent of his passes for 3,169 yards with 15 touchdowns and seven interceptions as a rookie. The Titans are hoping for a big jump this season. The 2025 No. 1 overall pick did not look the part Thursday night against the 49ers backup defense. Ward played three series and went 5-of-12 for 57 yards with a 56.6 passer rating. He had 2 yards on one carry, an intentional grounding penalty and a near-interception. His longest completion was Calvin Ridley’s 18-yard catch-and-run. Ward did direct an 11-play, 95-yard opening drive that was capped by Tony Pollard’s 5-yard touchdown run. The Titans had 10 plays for 26 yards on Ward’s final two drives of the night.
