Miami Dolphins rookie wide receiver Caleb Douglas has a path to snaps, but that alone does not make him a redraft sleeper. Miami selected him 75th overall after he posted 54 catches for 846 yards and seven touchdowns at Texas Tech, his second straight season with at least 54 receptions and 840 yards. At 6-foot-4 with a 4.39-second 40, Douglas brings a size-speed profile that stands out in an unsettled receiver room. The opportunity is real after the Dolphins released Tyreek Hill and traded Jaylen Waddle. So is the competition. Malik Washington, Jalen Tolbert, Tutu Atwell, Jalen Reagor, and fellow rookies Chris Bell (knee) and Kevin Coleman Jr. are all fighting for work. The Miami Dolphins held their first day of mandatory minicamp on Tuesday, with just one week left until Dolphins complete their offseason program with the final week of OTAs. As such, head coach Jeff Hafley held a press conference afterwards and gave a slew of answers about quarterbacks Malik Willis and Quinn Ewers , who he thinks may wear the “green dot” on defense, and what he expects from edge rusher Chop Robinson going into his third season. When asked about Willis, Hafley stated that “it’s going to be a work in progress” in regards to him developing chemistry with Miami ’s receivers. Of course, it doesn’t help that Malik Washington is the only returning receiver from last season. He is currently accompanied by veterans Tutu Atwell and Jalen Tolbert , as well as rookies Caleb Douglas, Chris Bell, and Kevin Coleman. Former first round pick Jalen Reagor also signed with the team earlier today, and should bring some much needed competition to the room. Hafley also singled out Ewers, saying “I’m really pleased with him right now. I want Quinn to continue to get better and battle, and compete and do everything to show us he’s the best QB on the field.” On Miami’s linebackers, Hafley said that he’s preparing for all possibilities in regards to who will wear the “green dot” on defense. For those unaware, only one player on defense is allowed a helmet equipped with coach-to-player radio communication, and this player must wear a green dot on their helmet. Essentially, this player is the “quarterback of the defense”, and relays play calls to the rest of the team while also being responsible for pre-snap alignments. It’s a huge responsibility, and Hafley mentioned that he prefers for all safeties and linebackers to wear the green dot throughout camp, to train them for all possible scenarios. That includes rookie linebacker Jacob Rodriguez, who is expected to play a big role for the Dolphins in 2026. Finally, Hafley mentioned that he “wants more” from edge rusher Chop Robinson, who is coming off a disappointing 2025 season in which he tallied just four sacks. The Dolphins are signing free agent wide receiver Jalen Reagor, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter . The Tuesday afternoon signing comes just after Miami received around $20 million in salary cap space from the post-June 1 release designations of linebacker Bradley Chubb and quarterback Tua Tagovailoa . No corresponding roster move to create space was reported. Reagor, a 2020 first-round pick by the Philadelphia Eagles , bounced on and off the Los Angeles Chargers practice squad during the 2025 season but made no game-day appearances. He played eight games in 2024 for the Chargers, starting twice, and recorded seven receptions for 100 yards. During his career, the wideout has caught 86 passes for 1,037 yards and 4 touchdowns. He also has 22 rushing attempts for 97 rushing yards and no scores. As a returner, Reagor has scored two total touchdowns — one via a punt return and one via a kick return. He has not scored an NFL touchdown since the 2023 season. The TCU product has also spent time with the Minnesota Vikings and New England Patriots over the past six years. His best season came as a rookie, when he caught 31 passes for 396 yards and a touchdown with the Eagles.
