Washington Commanders wide receiver Treylon Burks (foot) is officially active for Sunday night's Week 8 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles, according to Commanders PR. Burks was listed as questionable after being limited Wednesday, missing Thursday's practice, and returning to limited participation Friday. The 26-year-old caught four passes for 66 yards against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 6 before Washington's bye. He has recorded nine receptions for 152 yards and two touchdowns across five games this season. With Terry McLaurin (knee) on injured reserve, Burks joins Stefon Diggs, Dyami Brown, and Van Jefferson among Washington's available receiving options against Philadelphia
Brown hauled in his only target for six yards during Monday's 23-17 loss versus San Francisco. Despite Terry McLaurin (knee) exiting early in the loss to the 49ers, Brown wasn't on the field more than usual. He wasn't any more productive, either, catching just one pass for the second straight contest. McLaurin will miss the remainder of the 2026 campaign after it was announced Tuesday that he had been diagnosed with a torn left patellar tendon. However, that doesn't mean Brown will be more involved moving forward, considering the Commanders still have Antonio Williams, Stefon Diggs and Treylon Burks in the mix

He was held without a catch in Week 1, he lost a fumble last week, and he's heading for a quarterback downgrade as Marcus Mariota steps in for the injured Jayden Daniels (elbow). Plus, he's somewhere around third or fourth on the depth chart, competing for snaps with Antonio Williams as the two operate behind Terry McLaurin and Stefon Diggs. A Mariota-led offense doesn't have the ability to support more than two fantasy-relevant receivers, so McLaurin and Diggs are the only players worth starting right now. Brown can be left on waivers in most leagues
Brown caught four of his six targets for 21 yards and completed his sole pass attempt for zero yards while losing one fumble in Sunday's 37-20 loss to the Cowboys. Brown played 39 of the Commanders' 71 snaps as one of the starting wide receivers. The pass catcher became the pass thrower briefly in the third quarter on a play that ended up going for zero yards. Dak Prescott threw four touchdown passes, breaking the Cowboys’ franchise record for career touchdown passes. He passed Tony Romo with his 249th career touchdown pass, a 24-yarder to CeeDee Lamb with 3:07 remaining to ice the game. The Cowboys beat the Commanders 37-20, though Washington lost more than a game. Quarterback Jayden Daniels injured his left elbow on the final play of the first half. The replay was so gruesome that Fox analyst Tom Brady blurted, “Oh, shit.” Commanders left tackle Brandon Coleman (finger), defensive lineman Javon Kinlaw and right guard Sam Cosmi left the game with injuries late in the fourth quarter. Daniels was hurt trying to score from the 1 with three seconds left before halftime. Left guard Chris Paul accidently stepped on the quarterback as Daniels took the snap from under center, and Daniels tried to brace himself as he started to fall to the ground. It was similar to the 2025 game against the Seahawks last season when Daniels dislocated his left elbow. Everything seemingly went against the Commanders on Sunday, including a 29-yard touchdown pass from Marcus Mariota to Dyami Brown that officials and replay somehow ruled incomplete. The broadcast crew disagreed with the ruling, which would have tied the game at 17-17. The Cowboys, who led 17-3 early and 17-10 at halftime, pulled away thereafter. Prescott went 26-of-31 for 279 yards and four touchdowns. In addition to the 24-yarder to Lamb late, Prescott threw a 3-yard touchdown to Lamb early and had scoring tosses of 10 and 12 to tight end Jake Ferguson. Prescott kept the football after passing Romo for the record. “To now put myself in that category, it’s humbling, but I expect to play for a long time. And in my mind, I’m just getting started,” Prescott said last week. He now has a 23-2 record in division home games. That’s the best winning percentage at home against division opponents, with a minimum of 15 starts, since the merger, according to NBC Sports Research. It was Prescott’s 20th consecutive win against NFC East teams at home since 2017. That ties Tom Brady’s NFL record. Lamb caught eight passes for 153 yards and two touchdowns. The Commanders outgained the Cowboys 389 to 332, but they went 1-for-3 in the red zone. The Cowboys are 1-1, while the Commanders are 0-2

Brown failed to haul in either of his two targets during the Commanders' 24-22 loss to the Eagles on Sunday. Brown played 37 of 70 offensive snaps (52.9 percent), which was third-most among Commanders wide receivers behind Terry McLaurin (61) and Stefon Diggs (44). However, Brown was unable reel in the two passes he saw from Jayden Daniels, whereas rookie third-rounder Antonio Williams finished with a 4-66-1 receiving line despite playing only 26 offensive snaps. Brown will look for better results in Washington's Week 2 clash against Dallas on Sept. 20
Wide receiver Van Jefferson did not make the cut to the 53-man roster in Washington, but he’s rejoining the Commanders ahead of their season opener. According to multiple reports, Jefferson will sign with the team’s practice squad. Jefferson initially signed with the team in March and was let go at the end of August. Jefferson had 29 catches for 350 yards and a touchdown while with the Titans last season. He opened his career with the Rams and spent three-plus seasons with the team before a midseason trade to the Falcons in 2023. He played for the Steelers in 2024. Terry McLaurin, Stefon Diggs, third-round pick Antonio Williams, Dyami Brown, Luke McCaffrey, Treylon Burks, and Jaylin Lane are the wideouts on the active roster for the Commanders
Washington Commanders wide receiver Dyami Brown has made enough plays in camp to stay in the conversation, including a touchdown from Jayden Daniels during Monday's competitive period. The problem is that Washington's receiver room changed around him. The Commanders signed Stefon Diggs last week, and their first unofficial depth chart lists Terry McLaurin, Luke McCaffrey and Diggs atop the three receiver spots, with Brown behind McLaurin. Dan Quinn quickly dismissed that chart as little more than a preseason snapshot, so it should not be treated as final. Brown still has work to do to turn practice flashes into fantasy volume. He caught just 20 passes for 227 yards and one touchdown on 37 targets in 14 games for Jacksonville last season, playing 31% of the offensive snaps. Brown can still earn a rotational role, but Diggs is already getting more work with Daniels and the target competition is only getting tougher. His camp is worth tracking, but the path to consistent redraft value remains narrow

For his career, he has 79 receptions, 1,011 yards, and five touchdowns through the air. He finds himself in a position to fight for a starting spot in a thin Commanders wide receiver room, as Terry McLaurin is the clear wide receiver in the room to go along with Brown, Van Jefferson, Jaylin Lane, Luke McCaffrey, and third-round pick Antonio Williams. However, it will be an uphill battle for the 26-year-old, and he should not be on fantasy managers' radar in any formats as we enter draft season
