Eagles keep current QBs and offensive staff amid poor performance
The 2026 NFL trade deadline is fast approaching, and already some major deals have come down across the league. For instance, the Chicago Bears just made a blockbuster trade, sending multiple picks (including two first-rounders) to the Tennessee Titans for star defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons . The defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks also landed All-Pro guard Quenton Nelson in a trade with Indianapolis. Those deals may have been the first, but there will certainly be more before the Nov. 10 deadline. Most of the conversation surrounding the deadline has largely centered around pass rushers, running backs and wide receivers. That said, the quarterback market could also heat up as a few teams across the NFL could be on the hunt for a signal caller. That includes both the Baltimore Ravens and Philadelphia Eagles , who each lost their starting quarterbacks. Then, there's the Minnesota Vikings , who could also eye an upgrade at the position with Kyler Murray struggling despite the team's 6-1 start to the year. With that in mind, we combed the market and identified 10 veteran quarterbacks who could be available for the right price on the trade market. Milton is on the active roster of the Eagles after he was signed off of the Cowboys practice squad. He's backing up starter Tanner McKee , who ascended the depth chart in the wake of Jalen Hurts being put on the shelf with blood clots in his lungs. While Philadelphia would lose some depth at the position, Howie Roseman could see shipping away Milton as an opportunity to continue gaining future draft capital, albeit in the Day 3 range. The 26-year-old was a sixth-round pick of the Patriots in 2024 out of Tennessee and spent his rookie season in New England before he was traded to Dallas in the spring of 2025. He's appeared in five games over the course of his career (one start) and has completed 69.8% of his passes for a 90.4 career passer rating. Milton is still raw, but has ability that could make him an intriguing addition. Keenum has started games this year for Chicago, so while he may be 38, he has recent starting experience that could be useful for a team looking for a QB. After Caleb Williams and Tyson Bagent got hurt for the Bears earlier this year, Keenum started the club's Week 3 matchup against Philadelphia and impressed. He completed 24-of-34 (70.6%) for 247 yards and two touchdowns, while adding another score on the ground in a 27-7 win over the Eagles. Keenum also saw some action in Week 5, but the results were not as prolific, completing 11-of-19 for 108 yards and an interception. Still, he's shown an ability to come in and play at a serviceable level, which is really all you can ask for at this time of the year when searching for a quarterback. Dalton is another notable name who could be had, as he's in a crowded quarterback room with the Atlanta Falcons . The 39-year-old began the year with the Philadelphia Eagles, but was released by the team on Oct. 9. He then signed on with the Falcons, who released Cooper Rush to make room for him on the roster. Dalton is currently in a quarterback room that consists of starter Michael Penix Jr. , Tua Tagovailoa , and undrafted rookie Jack Strand . Dalton made a brief appearance in the Eagles' Week 3 loss to the Bears, attempting one pass that was intercepted. While that doesn't exactly instill a ton of confidence, Dalton is a seasoned veteran who has 16 years and 169 career starts under his belt. The Colts are blowing it up. They already traded away Nelson and DeForest Buckner , and Jonathan Taylor seems like he could be next if the price is right. If Indy is willing to move that caliber of player, trading Anthony Richardson for any sort of return should be on the table even after benching Daniel Jones late in the Week 8 loss to Jacksonville. Richardson has been a bust so far for the Colts after they selected him with the fourth overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft out of Florida. The 24-year-old is 8-7 as a sta [... truncated ...]
The Commanders have gotten back in the win column. While Philadelphia took a 10-0 lead in the first quarter, it was all Washington from then on, with the club coming away with a 27-10 victory on Sunday night. With Tanner McKee starting his third game in place of Jalen Hurts, Washington’s defense thoroughly outplayed Philadelphia’s offense throughout the night. The Commanders were able to generate pressure on McKee, sacking him four times. Washington ended the night with nine official QB hits. Saquon Barkley was limited to just 30 yards on 13 carries, including a 3-yard touchdown midway through the first quarter. Jake Elliott had a shot at another field goal in the fourth quarter, but a 41-yard attempt banged off the left upright. He had made a 36-yard attempt that was negated by a penalty for an illegal formation. In many ways, that sequence encapsulated what’s been a rough 2026 for the Eagles. Washington quarterback Jayden Daniels finished the night 16-of-29 for 217 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions. It’s the first time Daniels has won a game since Oct. 2025. Treylon Burks led with three catches for 81 yards. Stefon Diggs has three catches for 38 yards with a game-tying touchdown in the second quarter. Drew Stevens gave Washington a three-point lead at halftime with a 39-yard field goal. Stevens also hit from 56 in the first quarter, 25 in the third quarter, and 42 in the fourth. For the Eagles, this is the franchise’s first six-game losing streak since 2012. The last time the team started 2-6 was 1999. Both of those instances came under former head coach Andy Reid, in his last and first seasons with the club, respectively. Philadelphia will host the 4-2-1 Giants next weekend. With the win, the Commanders are now 2-4-1 and will host the 4-4 Rams in Week 9
The Commanders got down 10-0, but have scored 13 straight points and have a 13-10 lead at halftime. However, there could be an injury concern with Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels. Daniels took a hard hit from Nolan Smith late in the first half on an incomplete pass and took a bit to get up. Though Marcus Mariota spoke with Daniels on the sideline, the young quarterback stayed in before throwing an incomplete pass on third-and-1 to bring up Drew Stevens’ 39-yard field goal with 19 seconds left on the clock. The NBC broadcast showed Daniels wincing on the sideline as he went to sit down following the incomplete pass. Washington’s medical staff surrounded Daniels, but then the broadcast showed Daniels sitting by himself, ostensibly OK. Daniels had a middling first half, completing 11-of-221 passes for 96 yards with a touchdown — an 8-yard pass to Stefon Diggs midway through the second quarter. On the other side, Tanner McKee is 8-of-14 for 81 yards. Saquon Barkley had a 3-yard touchdown midway through the first quarter to make the score 10-0. He is having a tough night, though, gaining just 15 yards on eight carries. He also has a 24-yard reception. The Eagles have just seven first downs, 113 total yards, and are 1-of-6 on third down. With no McLaurin, expect a heavy dose of Stefon Diggs , Chig Okonkwo and Antonio Williams . Primetime scares: The game is happening one day after Halloween, but primetime has been spooky time for Washington. The team has lost six straight primetime games. Only the Colts (seven straight) have a longer active losing streak. The Eagles' offensive struggles are to be expected. The defensive struggles last week against the Cowboys were surprising, and the unit simply has too much talent to perform like that. It also performed very well in Week 1 against Washington, and I anticipate a return to closer to that form. The Cowboys saved their season, at least for another week, and the Eagles’ postseason hopes took a huge hit Monday night. Dallas beat Philadelphia 38-21 to end a two-game losing streak and move to 3-4. The Eagles, who are decimated by injuries, have lost five in a row to fall to 2-5. They started the game without quarterback Jalen Hurts and wide receivers DeVonta Smith and Dontayvion Wicks, among others, and finished it without running backs Saquon Barkley and Dameon Pierce. Barkley, who was returning after missing two games with a hamstring injury, left with a back injury. He had seven carries for 62 yards and a touchdown and two catches for 9 yards in limited usage before his new injury. Pierce left in the fourth quarter with an undisclosed injury after 14 carries for 47 yards and a touchdown. The game was back-and-forth for most of the night, with six lead changes. The last came on CeeDee Lamb’s 16-yard touchdown reception and Dak Prescott’s 2-point conversion that gave the Cowboys a 28-21 lead with 1:30 left in the third quarter. Brian Schottenheimer, whose play calling was criticized after he abandoned the run in the second half last week, called for more runs than passes. The Cowboys ran it 38 times for 204 yards and threw it 27 times for 212 yards. The Eagles had zero tackles for loss. Javonte Williams set a career-high with 155 yards and scored a touchdown on 25 carries. He is the Cowboys’ first 150-yard rusher since Ezekiel Elliott in 2018. Prescott was 15-of-27 for 212 yards and three touchdowns. Lamb caught five passes for 74 yards and two touchdowns and George Pickens had four receptions for 57 yards and a touchdown.
