The Jaguars opened up a spot on their 90-man roster on Monday. They announced that they have placed wide receiver Alex Bullock on the reserve/retired list. The team will retain Bullock’s rights, but will be able to sign another player to their offseason roster in the wake of the move. Bullock signed with the Jags after going undrafted last month. He played at Nebraska for three seasons before transferring to South Dakota State last year. He had 71 catches for 936 yards and five touchdowns in 2025. Jakobi Meyers, Brian Thomas, Travis Hunter, Parker Washington, Tim Jones, and Austin Trammell are back at receiver for Jacksonville. They also drafted CJ Williams and Josh Cameron in the sixth round this year

After finishing 2024 with a lowly 4-13 record, Trevor Lawrence , Travis Hunter and co. turned things around last year and ended the season 13-4. That complete 360-degree transformation was largely thanks to Lawrence’s impressive play, a turnover-happy defense and an eight-game win streak to close the year. Although they lost a 27-24 heartbreaker to the Bills in the Wild Card round of the playoffs, the campaign was a major step in the right direction for a franchise that missed the postseason two years in a row. Yet, they’re not even close to being satisfied. “Now the real work is here to where we have to go and reload it,” rookie head coach Liam Coen said in January. With the release of the NFL schedule, Coen and his squad have an idea of what they’ll need to prepare in order to mount another successful season. Notable opponents heading to Jacksonville’s Everbank Stadium these next few months include Drake Maye ’s AFC champion New England Patriots (Sept. 27), Daniel Jones ’ Indianapolis Colts (Nov. 1), T.J. Watt ’s Pittsburgh Steelers (Dec. 14) and Jayden Daniels ’ Washington Commanders in the final home game of the season on Saturday, Jan. 2. To make sure they’re re-loaded, general manager James Gladstone signed running back Chris Rodriguez Jr. and drafted tight end Nate Boerkircher in the second round to complement fan favorites Lawrence, Hunter, Josh Hines-Allen , Travon Walker and Foyesade Oluokun . Jaguars GM James Gladstone said Wednesday that Hunter (knee) should be a "full go" for training camp and will continue playing on both sides of the ball, per The Rich Eisen Show. Gladstone made similar comments about positional expectations in January, saying Hunter will play on both sides of the ball (without elaborating on the extent). Jacksonville brass may not even have an answer there internally, after Hunter's rookie season was cut short by an LCL tear at the end of October. Fellow WRs Jakobi Meyers and Parker Washington then emerged down the stretch, teaming up with Brian Thomas to form a solid trio at the position. All three are still under contract, whereas Jacksonville lost CB Greg Newsome to the Giants in free agency, leaving a clear opening for a starting job. Conventional wisdom right now suggests Hunter will fill that job while working in a part-time role on offense. It's a reasonable expectation, yet best viewed as an evolving situation rather than a locked-in plan. For now, Hunter is a limited participant in the offseason program, with early workouts unlikely to provide any meaningful hint about his NFL future
Sports Illustrated's John Shipley writes that Jacksonville Jaguars two-way player Travis Hunter (knee) will still play wide receiver in his second year in 2026. A TV segment recently expressed disappointment that Hunter will "no longer" play both sides of the ball, which is incorrect. General manager James Gladstone said back in January that the former Heisman Trophy winner will play more cornerback in his sophomore season, but he will still play some receiver. In seven games in his rookie campaign, Hunter caught 28 passes for 298 yards and one touchdown on 45 targets through seven games before suffering a season-ending knee injury that required surgery. The 22-year-old second overall pick had a breakout game in Week 7 against the Los Angeles Rams with eight catches for 101 yards and his only touchdown before injuring his knee in practice the following week. Hunter's fantasy value is by no means dead going forward, but it will be even more difficult to make a consistent fantasy impact in 2026 if he's playing fewer snaps on offense
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that the expectation is Travis Hunter will enter training camp as a "full-time corner back and part-time wide receiver." This was seeming inevitable to end last season with the emergence of Parker Washington and acquisition of Jakobi Meyers. It is a brutal blow for dynasty managers who drafted Hunter early last season. He will remain a player to continue to monitor for fantasy managers
Jacksonville Jaguars two-way player Travis Hunter (knee) should be a full participant by training camp, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com. Hunter suffered a torn LCL during practice in October and missed the entire second half of the 2025 campaign. When he returns to the field, he'll be a full-time cornerback and part-time receiver. While Hunter was heavily involved as a receiver before getting injured in his rookie season, this latest update falls in line with the general consensus from before the 2025 NFL Draft that Hunter offered the most value on defense. It seems highly unlikely that Hunter will match last year's average of 6.4 targets per game. Not only is he going to play fewer offensive snaps, but he also faces plenty of competition for targets with Brian Thomas Jr., Jakobi Meyers, and Parker Washington all in the mix. Hunter currently ranks #74 overall in RotoBaller's early fantasy football rankings for the 2026 season
GM James Gladstone noted Thursday that Hunter will "be, for all intents and purposes, a limited participant through the offseason program with eyes on (a) return to play at full tick in training camp," NFL.com reports. Coach Liam Coen indicated at the end of March that Hunter was "very well ahead" of schedule in his recovery from surgery (which took place last November) to address a torn LCL in his right knee, per Ryan O'Halloran of The Florida Times-Union. At the time, Coen added that he couldn't "say for certain" whether Hunter would take part in the Jaguars offseason program, but it appears as though the CB/WR will participate in some capacity as he works toward being at or near full-go for training camp. According to Michael DiRocco of ESPN, once the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft resumes practicing, he'll take reps on both sides of the ball. However, while Hunter's positional versatility is valuable to the Jaguars, it remains to be seen what level of playing time the Colorado product (who caught 28 passes in seven regular-season games as a rookie) will see on offense in 2026, while working in a wide receiver corps that also includes Brian Thomas, Jakobi Meyers and Parker Washington
Jaguars GM James Gladstone said CB/WR Travis Hunter is hopeful to be a full-go come the start of training camp. Hunter will be a limited participant throughout OTAs as he recovers from November LCL surgery. His exact role heading into next season remains largely unknown and will be something to monitor throughout the rest of the offseason
