The biggest win of the Urban Meyer era in Jacksonville has come five years after the former head coach was unceremoniously ousted from Duval County. On Monday, it was reported first by ON3 that the Jaguars had won a $30 million wrongful termination lawsuit against their former absentee head coach after Meyer sued over Jacksonville allegedly firing him without cause. In reality – a place Meyer hardly visits – the Jaguars did have cause to fire Meyer just 13 games into his tenure with the club. And five-years later, the Jags are no longer on the hook for the remainder of Meyer’s four-year, $36 million deal. Dating back to the awful ‘21 season where Meyer and the Jags went 2-11 in his time as the head man, the coach was mostly known for his viral video where he was seen with a woman who wasn’t his wife at his own restaurant and allegedly kicking then placekicker Josh Lambo , who was a witness in the lawsuit against the former Florida Gators and Ohio State head coach. To have “cause” the Jaguars needed more than just the alleged kicking of Lambo during a stretching period, and used such grievances like Meyer’s accruing of around $300,000 in NFL fines for workout infractions and Meyer skipping a team flight after a loss in Cincinnati , among others. NFL head coach contracts are fully guaranteed as a rule, so it was well within Meyer’s right to sue the team for the rest of his contract. On the same coin however, it was ruled legally the Jags were fully within their right to fire the man at the center of almost every ‘21 NFL scandal for cause. At any rate, the Jaguars now have their third win of the Meyer tenure and get to keep $30 million for whatever they please. Maybe they can pay for new wigs for Trevor Lawrence , a quarterback Meyer once had in an open competition with Gardner Minshew . What a time
This offseason, there was less speculation about Matthew Stafford’s future and retirement timeline than in previous years, and that could become more of a trend than an outlier despite him being the second-oldest expected starter in the NFL at age 38. Rams fans could be looking forward to at least four more years of Stafford being the oldest starting quarterback in the league. The reasons for him playing until he’s 40 and beyond are growing faster than the grey hairs in his beard. Retirement is a personal decision and could have nothing to do with an ability to play football or make money. Aaron Donald recently emphasized that he always planned to retire after eight seasons and was only enticed to return for two more years because of the Super Bowl. Stafford may want to retire if he wins a second Super Bowl. Or he might want to retire if L.A. does not win the Super Bowl this year. Only he knows the answer. But if he wants to play five more years, it’s hard to believe he lacks the ability to do it.. NFL teams drafted Bryce Young and Cam Ward with the first overall pick in 2023 and 2025 respectively, under the assumption that those quarterbacks would soon become the faces of the NFL. Well, Young and Ward combined to throw 38 touchdown passes in 2025, which is nine fewer than Stafford’s 46 touchdowns en route to winning MVP and also leading the league in passing yards. Ward was only a rookie last year and was not surrounded by much talent. Young is a limited passer who has not proven he can lead a high volume offense, but did take the Panthers to the playoffs at age 24. However, these aren’t outliers. These are examples of a frightening trend of incoming first round quarterbacks proving to be worse than expectations: *benched or in a QB competition in 2026 2019 draft: Kyler Murray*, Daniel Jones 2020 draft: Joe Burrow , Tua Tagovailoa*, Justin Herbert , Jordan Love 2021 draft: Trevor Lawrence , Zach Wilson*, Trey Lance*, Justin Fields*, Mac Jones * 2022 draft: Kenny Pickett * 2023 draft: Bryce Young, C.J. Stroud , Anthony Richardson* 2024 draft: Caleb Williams , Jayden Daniels , Drake Maye , Michael Penix , JJ McCarthy*, Bo Nix 2025 draft: Cam Ward, Jaxson Dart Even in that group of 23 quarterbacks, of the 14 expected starters in Week 1, at least half have a lot to prove before they’re expected to be starters in 2027 and 2028. We saw the lack of belief the league has in young starters late last season when the Indianapolis Colts favored 44-year-old Philip Rivers over any other options that could have been available. His historically-bad athletic limitations were outweighed by the Colts belief in his football IQ and experience. Matthew Stafford is six years younger than Rivers was last season. It’s not that a team would want a 44-year-old quarterback with a weak arm, but this could imply that a 41 or 42-year-old Stafford is far better than the average 25-year-old quarterback. Four of the top-five quarterbacks in passing yards last season were 28 and older: Sam Darnold was the second-youngest at 28 Jared Goff was 31 Dak Prescott was 32 Stafford was 37 Maye was the only outlier and he was a hair from winning MVP. But he was not within a hair of Stafford’s actual value. No offense to Maye and he could be on a trajectory to be unbelievably good next season or 2027, but he was abysmally bad in the playoffs in spite of the Patriots reaching the Super Bowl. Maye was overrated last season and similar to Stroud in 2023, his season-long stats were considerably uplifted by having two or three dominant performances against the worst teams in the league. Maye had 5 touchdowns against the Jets, two more scores than he had in any other game. The NFL’s hope for quarterbacks like Caleb Williams and Maye “proving” that they are about to take over the league because of the seasons and playoff runs they had in 2025 will have to go a lot better than Jayden Daniels’ second season or Stroud’s second season, or they risk becoming

The 2026-27 NFL regular season schedule has been released , and we are getting closer to Jaguars football. While the Jaguars did not land any holiday games, they are hitting the main stage with games scheduled for Thursday Night Football, Sunday Night Football, and Monday Night Football. Let’s revisit the last time the Jaguars beat each of their 2026 regular-season opponents. Week 11 at FirstEnergy Stadium on November 19, 2017 Final score: Jaguars 19 – Browns 7 Attendance: 57,003 Jacksonville recorded 15 first downs, 284 total net yards, and a 36:55 time of possession, compared to Cleveland’s 11 first downs, 184 total net yards, and 23:05 time of possession. Marcedes Lewis and Telvin Smith scored touchdowns. Blake Bortles completed 17 out of 30 attempted passes for 154 yards. Leonard Fournette led the team with 111 rushing yards, and Marqise Lee led with 45 receiving yards. Josh Lambo made two out of the three attempted field goals. Telvin Smith and A.J. Bouye both had interceptions. Yannick Ngakoue , Malik Jackson , Calais Campbell , and Dante Fowler Jr. registered five sacks on DeShone Kizer for a loss of 45 yards. Jalen Ramsey led the team with six combined tackles. Week 16 at Empower Field at Mile High on December 21, 2025 Final score: Jaguars 34 – Broncos 20 Attendance: 75,261 The game started with a few punts on both sides. The Broncos go for it on fourth down and get the needed yardage. Coach Coen challenged the call, but the call stood. The Broncos’ attempted 44-yard field goal hit the uprights. Trevor Lawrence hits Parker Washington for a touchdown. The Broncos respond with a Nix-to-Sutton touchdown. Travis Etienne stumbled for a loss of five yards, and Lawrence is sacked to bring up fourth down for the Jags. Travon Walker makes a massive stop on fourth down, but Will Lutz’s field goal attempt is good, giving the Broncos the lead 10-7. DeeJay Dallas sets up the Jaguars’ offense with good field position, resulting in a Brenton Strange touchdown. Denver punts, and Cam Little makes the attempted field goal. The Broncos score a touchdown, and Lawrence responds with a touchdown of his own. The Jaguars score another touchdown and recover a fumble. Little’s kick is good, giving the Jags a 34-17 lead. The Broncos kick a field goal, the Jags go three-and-out, and when it looks like the Broncos’ offense is picking up momentum, Jarrian Jones intercepts Bo Nix. Week 7 at Wembley Stadium on October 20, 2024 Final score: Patriots 16 – Jaguars 32 Attendance: 86,651 Devin Lloyd sacked Drake Maye at the beginning of the first quarter; however, that was followed by a Jamycal Hasty touchdown and a punt by Logan Cooke to make it a 7-0 game to end the quarter. Cam Robinson left the game early with a concussion. The Patriots moved the ball down the field, made the field goal, and brought the score up to 10-0. The Jaguars started to heat up offensively with Gabe Davis , Christian Kirk , D’Ernest Johnson, and Tank Bigsby getting first downs. The team ended the drive with a touchdown pass from Trevor Lawrence to Brian Thomas Jr. The Patriots punted the next drive. Lawrence had another deep pass for 58 yards to BTJ, followed by Bigsby scoring a touchdown and giving the Jaguars the first lead of the game. Parker Washington returned a 96-yard punt for a touchdown, and the two-point conversion from Lawrence to Thomas was good. The Jags entered the second half leading the Patriots 22-10. Cam Little’s field goal brought it to 25-10 entering the fourth quarter. The Jaguars go for it on fourth down, but the Patriots’ defense makes the stop. The two teams each score another touchdown, and the Jaguars bring home the win. Week 7 at Paul Brown Stadium on October 20, 2019 Final score: Jaguars 27 – Bengals 17 Attendance: 42,784 Keelan Cole and Yannick Ngakoue scored touchdowns. Gardner Minshew completed 15 out of 32 attempted passes for 255 yards and was sacked twice for a loss of 11 yards. Leonard Fournette led the team with 131 rushing yards, a

The Cincinnati Bengals' 2026 schedule has been released, featuring an international game, a home game on New Year's Eve, and a Sunday Night Football matchup. The first month appears to be the most challenging stretch, with the Bengals historically starting slow and facing four playoff teams from the previous season. Key matchups include games against Baker Mayfield's Buccaneers, C.J. Stroud's Texans, Aaron Rodgers' Steelers, and Trevor Lawrence's Jaguars
Ranking every opposing quarterback on Eagles' 2026 schedule originally appeared on NBC Sports Philadelphia The Eagles are hoping to have a big year in 2026 and their schedule is relatively easy — at least based on win total projections — for a reigning division champion. In some years, the Eagles have faced a gauntlet of great quarterbacks but that doesn’t appear to be the case entering 2026. They avoid most of the top QBs in the NFL this season. The top seven of this list were easy to come up with, although you can argue about the order. After that, it became tough to rank them. But here’s a ranking of all 14 quarterbacks the Eagles expect to see this season: 1. Matthew Stafford Week 4: vs. Rams He’s 38 now and entering his 18th season in the NFL, but we’re not choosing who we’d start a franchise with. We’re simply picking the best quarterback on the schedule and it’s still Matthew Stafford. In his Age 37 season, Stafford won the NFL MVP award while leading the Rams to a 12-5 record. He led the NFL with 4,707 passing yards and 46 touchdowns to just 8 interceptions. At some point, Stafford will probably slow down and won’t be a great player anymore, but I’m not going to project that happens before Week 4. 2. Dak Prescott Week 7 vs. Cowboys; Week 12 at Cowboys Last season was a nice bounce-back year for Dak Prescott, who made his fourth Pro Bowl team. The Cowboys finished with a 7-9-1 record but their offense was explosive and their defense let them down. Prescott completed 67% of his passes for 4,552 yards with 30 touchdowns and 10 picks. He always seems to give the Eagles fits and those two games against the Cowboys in Weeks 7 and 12 won’t be easy. 3. Trevor Lawrence Week 5 at Jaguars (in London) The Jaguars got hot during the middle of last season and won their final eight regular season games going into the playoffs. During that eight-game stretch, Trevor Lawrence was very good. He completed 62.7% of his passes for 2,009 yards with 19 touchdowns and 5 picks. You could certainly say that Lawrence’s career has been a disappointment because of the expectations on him when he was drafted No. 1 overall out of Clemson in 2021. But he began to look like that guy last year as he led the Jaguars to a 13-4 record under new head coach Liam Coen. 4. Caleb Williams Week 3 at Bears In 2025, Caleb Williams took that big Year 2 jump the Bears were hoping to see. He ended up throwing for just under 4,000 yards with 27 touchdowns and 7 interceptions. The Bears are the only NFL franchise that has never had a 4,000-yard passer but I think Williams gets that done this season. And he’s still always a threat to run or use his legs to extend plays. The Eagles actually held Williams in check last season but the Bears didn’t need him to throw the ball; they ran all over the Philly defense. 5. Jayden Daniels Week 1 vs. Commanders; Week 8 at Commanders A couple years ago, Jayden Daniels was the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year with a tremendous season. If he’s able to do that again in 2026, he could end up higher on this list. But Daniels was limited to just seven games last season so we need to see him have a healthy year in 2026. But there’s no questioning his ability. Daniels in 2024, completed 69% of his passes for 3,568 yards with 25 touchdowns and also ran for 891 yards. He’s supremely talented and if the Commanders get back on track this season, he’ll be the biggest reason why, especially with a new offensive scheme. 6. Sam Darnold Week 15 vs. Seahawks I was a believer of Sam Darnold when the Jets took him third-overall back in 2018 and there were plenty of tough years in between. But the last two seasons with the Vikings and Seahawks have really changed the narrative surrounding Darnold, who is a back-to-back Pro Bowler and just won the Super Bowl. The biggest question for the Seahawks in 2026 is how Darnold will fare without former OC Klint Kubiak, who is now the head coach of the Raiders. 7. Brock Purdy Week 17 at 49ers Thi

The Cincinnati Bengals have been active and unconventional this offseason. They’ve done things fans have been seeking from them for years. And now they’re getting recognized for it. Most recently, Adam Schein, host of the New York Post’s “Schein Time” has named the Bengals his winners of the 2026 offseason. “I’ve been in love all season,” he began in a post. “But I think the big winner after NFL schedule release… The 2026 Cincinnati Bengals.” Schein didn’t provide much reason as to why he feels this way in the post. But Fox Sports’ Ralph Vacchiano went into more detail in a piece he wrote about the winners and losers of the schedule release . Vacchiano noted that injuries to Joe Burrow and slow starts have hurt the Bengals in recent years. With Burrow currently healthy, they’re set up for a decent start and “an incredibly strong finish”. The analyst said the Bengals have “semi-easy wins” in the form of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers , Pittsburgh Steelers , and Miami Dolphins in their first five games. “But it’s what happens from Week 8 on where the magic occurs,” Vacchiano continued. “They face just two teams that are projected to finish above .500 in their final 12 games, and they get both of those — December games against the Chiefs and the Ravens — at home. They also will play each of their first seven games at 1 p.m. on Sundays, too.” Others have taken note of how Cincinnati is better positioned to compete this year. Steve Palazzolo and Sam Monson put the Bengals among this offseason’s winners . Among other things, they like how the team went out and fixed their defensive line
The Jacksonville Jaguars unveiled their 2026 regular-season schedule on Thursday night, along with the rest of the league. But while the video answered when the Jaguars would be playing each of their 17 games, it raised one big question: Did they really cut quarterback Trevor Lawrence’s trademark hair? If you have not seen the video, it features the quarterback sitting down in a barber’s chair while his long hair is slowly trimmed away, revealing a Lawrence unlike any we have seen before: And for good measure, another look at the finished product: The video touched off a firestorm on social media, with fans around the league wondering if the quarterback truly sacrificed his trademark locks in the name of content. However, you can now rest easy knowing that it was a wig, and not Lawrence’s actual hair that was cut in the video. The Jaguars released a follow-up, behind-the-scenes video breaking down how the release came to life: Jacksonville opens its season on Sunday, September 13 at home against the Cleveland Browns . And Lawrence should have his long hair when that game kicks off

After finishing 2024 with a lowly 4-13 record, Trevor Lawrence , Travis Hunter and co. turned things around last year and ended the season 13-4. That complete 360-degree transformation was largely thanks to Lawrence’s impressive play, a turnover-happy defense and an eight-game win streak to close the year. Although they lost a 27-24 heartbreaker to the Bills in the Wild Card round of the playoffs, the campaign was a major step in the right direction for a franchise that missed the postseason two years in a row. Yet, they’re not even close to being satisfied. “Now the real work is here to where we have to go and reload it,” rookie head coach Liam Coen said in January. With the release of the NFL schedule, Coen and his squad have an idea of what they’ll need to prepare in order to mount another successful season. Notable opponents heading to Jacksonville’s Everbank Stadium these next few months include Drake Maye ’s AFC champion New England Patriots (Sept. 27), Daniel Jones ’ Indianapolis Colts (Nov. 1), T.J. Watt ’s Pittsburgh Steelers (Dec. 14) and Jayden Daniels ’ Washington Commanders in the final home game of the season on Saturday, Jan. 2. To make sure they’re re-loaded, general manager James Gladstone signed running back Chris Rodriguez Jr. and drafted tight end Nate Boerkircher in the second round to complement fan favorites Lawrence, Hunter, Josh Hines-Allen , Travon Walker and Foyesade Oluokun . All that’s missing is you. If you want to root yourself hoarse with the Duval faithful, tickets are available for all six Jacksonville Jaguars 2026 home games at EverBank Stadium on SeatGeek. This just might be Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins , and Chase Brown ’s year anyway. To make sure they’re primed for glory, General Manager Duke Tobin got busy this offseason. In addition to trading for Pro Bowl defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence II , he also inked Super Bowl-winning edge rusher Boye Mafe and two-time SB champion safety Bryan Cook to shore up Zac Taylor’s talented roster. That, coupled with the fact that the club has the 30th-easiest schedule of any team in 2026, has prognosticators excited about Cincinnati’s upcoming season. “Right now, [the Bengals] would be my pick to win the division,” ESPN analyst and former NFL quarterback Dan Orlovsky proclaimed. “They’re three straight years without the playoffs. [If] they don’t go again with what they’ve invested now into the team and kind of given Joe what is needed and wanted, at least by reports, you could absolutely see it getting very noisy, and him wanting out.” Winning the division and returning to the postseason won’t be a cakewalk, though. The NFL’s 2026 schedule dropped Thursday night , and with it came the layers of context that are when the Cowboys face their various opponents throughout this year. Expectations are high entering this season, with many believing in Christian Parker and this revamped defense being enough to send the Cowboys back to the postseason. Yet, the layout of the schedule this year is far from ideal. Everyone knows the NFL is a marathon, not a sprint. Still, how a team starts out can often dictate their season. While nobody wins a Lombardi in Week 1, only 2.4% of teams that start 0-3 (since 1990) go on to reach the playoffs. Similarly, only 1.7% of teams that start 3-6 end up making the playoffs. A poor start to the year is never impossible to overcome, but it can absolutely be detrimental for the future. Morale can take a hit, players can tune out their coaches, and entire fan bases can stop caring (and stop showing up), which always makes owners more trigger-happy with their coaches. While it would probably take a catastrophic year for Brian Schottenheimer to even be in serious jeopardy this season, the Cowboys were dealt no favors in the first half of their schedule. In their first nine games, only three of them are legitimate home games. The clash with the Ravens will officially be a home game, but it’s taking place in Rio de Janeiro – the first NFL game to ever happen in the Marvelous City – so it won’t really carry the typical advantages of playing on the home field. Of those three remaining true home games, one is against the division rival Commanders . Washington is used to traveling to Dallas, of course, so that’s one more manner of diluting the homefield advantage factor. And the second game, of course, is a Thursday Night Football showdown, giving the Cowboys just four days to host the Buccaneers after a road game against the Texans and their ferocious defense. The third such game in this span is a noon game hosting the Cardinals. On paper, that one isn’t all that ominous, though fans know all too well that the Cardinals have always had the star’s number regardless of venue. Even so, for those keeping track at home, that’s one true home game without any sort of dilution to homefield advantage. And the road games in between there are no joke, either. Starting the season off with John Harbaugh’s debut as the Giants head coach gets followed up with the aforementioned Texans. Then it’s back-to-back games against the Packers and Eagles, two franchises that have delivered plenty of heartbreak to this fan base over the years. And the ninth game is against the Colts , who started 8-2 last year before injuries derailed their season. Going 3-6 over that span is entirely possible. It may not be probable – one would venture to guess the Cowboys will be favored in four or five of these contests – but a couple unlucky bounces could easily get the team to 3-6 or worse. And if that happens… well, the odds of getting back to the playoffs are obviously not great. The back half of the schedule isn’t a cakewalk either, though a three-game home stretch and a rare mini-bye after the Thanksgiving game are certainly welcome surprises. The Cowboys will need to hit the ground running in 2026 if they want to prove their offseason buzz was more than just that, because the schedule makers have left very little room for error. What part of the schedule worries you the most?
The Baltimore Ravens have released their 2026 schedule, featuring Lamar Jackson and a team poised for a Super Bowl run. Despite a disappointing 2025 season, the Ravens have made significant changes, including a new head coach and key player acquisitions like Trey Hendrickson and Jaylinn Hawkins. They also retained stars such as Kyle Hamilton and Zay Flowers. With the 24th-strongest strength of schedule and favorable betting odds, the Ravens are expected to contend in the AFC North and make a deep playoff push

Stroud ’s talented club won in the Wild Card round in the NFL playoffs and then promptly came up short in the Divisional Round. In their most-recent go-round, Demeco Ryan’s squad fell 28-16 to the eventual AFC champion New England Patriots . “Of course, my last game didn’t go the way I wanted it to,” Stroud said five weeks after that contest where he threw four interceptions. “…I’m just grateful for the suffering. Not only the suffering that people don’t see, but also the suffering that people also do [see].” Hopefully, that suffering doesn’t continue for Houston heading into 2026. Blessed with the NFL’s seventh-easiest schedule — their opponents had a combined winning percentage of .474 in 2025, according to Yahoo! Sports — the club hopes to capitalize on this advantage, especially in their eight home games at NRG Stadium. However, a soft schedule doesn’t mean there won’t be major challenges along the way. Just a few of their most notable tests include showdowns with Josh Allen ’s Buffalo Bills (Sept. 13), Dak Prescott ’s Dallas Cowboys (Oct. 4), Daniel Jones ’ Indianapolis Colts (Nov. 19), Lamar Jackson ’s Baltimore Ravens (Nov. 29) and Trevor Lawrence ’s Jacksonville Jaguars (Dec. 20). To make sure they’re up for the challenge, General Manager Nick Caserio signed standout safety Reed Blankenship , star offensive tackle Braden Smith , gritty guard Wyatt Teller , dominant defensive tackle Logan Hall and depth piece defensive end Dominique Robinson to shore up an already elite defense. They join returning stars Stroud, Will Anderson Jr. (who was just awarded the largest non-quarterback contract in NFL history), Derek Stingley Jr. , Danielle Hunter and Nico Collins . Now all that’s missing is you . If you want to be part of the Swarm (or sit in the Bull Pen in the North End Zone) and see the Texans attempt to win the AFC South live, tickets are available for all eight 2026 home games at Houston’s NRG Stadium as of today on SeatGeek. Not familiar with SeatGeek? SeatGeek is a verified secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand. They offer a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and your tickets will be delivered prior to the event. Trevor Lawrence gets an early opportunity to find his rhythm. Jacksonville’s 2026 season opens against a formidable Cleveland Browns defense, but there’s a familiar face waiting in the opposing secondary. The Jaguars traded struggling cornerback Tyson Campbell to Cleveland following Week 5 of the 2025 season, a move that appeared to somewhat stabilize Campbell’s play down the stretch. Lawrence will undoubtedly have an early chance to test that stability in week 1 and build confidence within his receiving corps before the schedule stiffens considerably. Among Jacksonville’s 2026 opponents, three defenses ranked inside the top third of the league in passer rating allowed during the 2025 season, the Philadelphia Eagles finished second, the Houston Texans third, and the Denver Broncos sixth. Those are genuine challenges for any quarterback, and Lawrence will face all three before the calendar turns. The remaining pre-bye week opponents ranked as follows: Cleveland Browns – 15th New England Patriots – 21st Cincinnati Bengals – 26th Much like the 2025 schedule, the 2026 slate presents a clear pattern, the difficult stretches are genuinely difficult, and the more favorable opportunities are equally identifiable. But even within Jacksonville’s toughest stretch of games, the matchups suggest that Lawrence and the passing game will have real opportunities to operate and generate advantages. It’s difficult to overstate how significant the opening six weeks of this schedule could be for a Jaguars locker room that has spent the better part of a year building its case to a national audience that wasn’t fully listening. Liam Coen noted throughout the 2025 season that respect wasn’t coming for the small-market Jaguars, and objectively speaking, he wasn’t wrong. The offseason only added fuel to that fire. Coen lost the Coach of the Year vote by three, with the Dianna Russini scandal, in which Russini held a vote of her own despite her well-documented ties to Mike Vrabel, potentially representing a two-vote swing in a race that shouldn’t have been close. Meanwhile, New England coasted to a Super Bowl on a schedule that bore little resemblance to the waters Jacksonville was navigating all season long. The receipts are there for anyone willing to look. The grass has a way of settling these conversations, and the 2026 schedule hands Jacksonville the pen to rewrite several of them in rapid succession. The opportunity to prove the Denver victory was no aberration arrives in Week 2. Week 3 brings a chance to correct the full narrative surrounding New England’s unchallenged record. And Week 4 offers the opportunity to avenge a painful Cincinnati loss, one that still stings given the terrible Travis Hunter pass interference call that helped to decide it. For Liam Coen and this Jacksonville locker room, the stage is set. The opportunity to prove the point is front and center. Now it’s time to take it. The relocation of two home games to London is a genuine loss for local Jacksonville fans, but for the growing international Duval fanbase, it’s equally significant. In most seasons, the London game is little more than a footnote, a novelty matchup that rarely carries meaningful playoff implications or narratives. In 2026, that changes. With two legitimate playoff competitors traveling to face the Jaguars as the home side in back-to-back weeks, Jaguar fans across the pond are finally getting something worth the ticket price, a genuine, high-stakes atmosphere that goes well beyond a glorified exhibition. For the international Jaguars community, this slate is huge. There’s no sugarcoating it, opening the season against two All-Pros in Myles Garrett and Nik Bonitto is an extraordinarily tall task for any NFL offensive tackle. The degree of difficulty only increases when you factor in the uncertainty surrounding starting left tackle Cole Van Lanen ’s injury status heading into Week 1. With Van Lanen’s availability in question and Little’s 2025 strugg

The NFL’s annual roast – otherwise known as the schedule release – took place via social media May 14 as the 2026 slate for all 32 teams became official. Every team, as has become tradition, created a video to celebrate the occasion . All deserve praise and required hard work from scores of individuals who deserve praise. But like the game of football, some teams fared better than others, and there can only be one winner. USA TODAY Sports ranked the top five videos from this year’s batch of videos. But first … Four teams’ submissions were worthy of an honorable mention tag. The Chicago Bears , for their Rome “Bob Ross” Odunze sketch. The Los Angeles Rams channeled “Napoleon Dynamite” for their bit of nostalgia. Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence chopped off his patented blonde flow and that alone deserves recognition. And the Indianapolis Colts’ “Simpsons” video was impressive. Now onto the top five. The reigning Super Bowl champs kept the momentum going with a spoof of those oddly sultry fragrance commercials. They featured Seahawks players, Marshawn Lynch , play-by-play announcer Steve Raible and celebrity fans Josh Lucas, Joel McHale and Pierson Fode. Each fragrance referred to a different opponent and poked fun at them. A little low for the Chargers, who often take the top spot. But for the fourth straight season, their video existed in an alternate reality, this one in the Halo video game. The points deducted from running the same play over and over again doesn’t distract from the team’s uncanny ability to have the best burns year in and year out. And the level of dedication it takes to create this type of project is more than worthy of a top-five ranking. Nostalgia plays when it comes to the schedule-release video, and if there’s one piece of media that is universally beloved, it’s “This is SportsCenter” commercials. All of the jokes – Matt Ryan losing his temper, a “Bijan” Robinson pronunciation mishap – hit. Kevin Stefanski plays a heck of a straightman. The man-on-the-street (Broadway, to be exact) style is back! Tennessee’s video from 2023 was one of the best schedule-release videos ever produced, and going back to the well three years later was more than appropriate. The format change – the admin approached individuals who “looked like” players of the opposing team for a certain week – was a fun wrinkle that allowed the theme to continue without it feeling too similar. Did Fernando Mendoza and Kirk Cousins just become best friends? Getting buy-in from the two quarterbacks is one thing, but to actually execute upon the “Stepbrothers” spoof is another. No notes, because this video hits all of the right ones. Scissor me timbers! The NFL schedule release offers a glimpse into the upcoming season, with social media teams across the league putting together hilarious – and sometimes daring – videos to announce their respective 17-game slate to the NFL world. This season, you can file the Jacksonville Jaguars ' schedule release video under "daring." Featuring their star passer in the barber's chair, Trevor Lawrence gets his ears lowered as the 2021 No. 1 pick debuts a (seemingly) new haircut, trading his signature flowing mane for something a bit more late 2000s. MORE: How NFL schedule release videos deliver internet gold "Man, I've been wanting this cut for a long time," Lawrence says as the haircut comes to a close. Jacksonville later posted a message assuring fans that the video wasn't crafted by AI. "AI could never," the page posted with a picture of Lawrence's new 'do. The Jacksonville social media team continued to reaffirm Lawrence's new haircut with a picture of the passer from practice, in which Lawrence's hair seems lopped off. The Jaguars didn't cut any corners en route to their dazzling 13-4 record in 2025. A step forward from their quarterback helped secure the AFC South, as Lawrence finished with a career-high in touchdown passes (29) in his first season partnered with head coach Liam Coen. Now, Lawrence has a new look, and he the Jags would gladly trade his golden locks for the silver of the Lombardi Trophy come next February.
