Last Sunday in London, the Eagles opted to put a kickoff in play with eight seconds left in the fourth quarter of a game against the Jaguars. This Sunday in London, the Texans opted to put a kickoff into the end zone with eight seconds left in the second quarter of a game against the Jaguars. Both decisions were incorrect, because of the number of timeouts the Jaguars had in hand. Last week, the Jaguars had no timeouts. It would have been difficult to complete a pass on the sidelines in field-goal range, since the Eagles could have guarded the boundaries and ignored the middle of the field. This week, the Jaguars had two timeouts. Giving them the ball at the 35 nearly resulted in gaining enough yards to get in range for another long kick from Cam Little. The throw from Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence to receiver Parker Washington at the Houston 46 was incomplete; Washington couldn’t control it before it hit the ground. If he’d made the catch, Little would have had a shot at a 63-yard game-tying field goal. Yes, it would have been a very long kick. But Little has the leg to make it. Three weeks ago, Little missed a 70-yard try just before halftime not because it was short but because it was just wide to the right . Obviously, there’s a chance that putting the kickoff in play would have resulted in a long return from the Jaguars. But this gets back to Mike Tomlin’s point that teams need to have the right special-teams players who can be trusted to make a tackle. Regardless, giving the Jaguars the ball at the 35 with eight seconds and two timeouts created a very real risk of something far easier to accomplish than a long kick return. If the 19-yard throw had been completed, the game could be 17-17 entering the third quarter

Before the season started, CBS Sports rolled out its top-10 rankings for players at every position on both offense and defense. Some of those rankings look extremely prescient five weeks into the NFL season. Others do not. That's just the way it goes. Football is an unpredictable game, and even those of us who observe it most closely and get a lot right still get a lot wrong a lot of the time. We're not necessarily here to debate what we got right or wrong, but to revisit our lsit. Because so many wide receivers are off to such great starts this season and delivering jump-off-the-screen performances in big-time games, we wanted to see if there are any updates we can make just under a third of the way through the season. So in the space below, we'll detail the updated top 10. Enjoy. Honorable mentions (in no particular order): Malik Nabers , Tetairoa McMillan , Davante Adams , George Pickens , Garrett Wilson , Parker Washington , DeVonta Smith , Mike Evans , Christian Watson , A.J. Brown Flowers is off to an insane start to the season. He's only played two full games so far (he missed one, left one early and played only 33% of the snaps in another), and he's yet to play a full complement of snaps with Lamar Jackson under center. Yet, he already has 26 catches for 405 yards and a pair of scores. He leads the NFL with 4.45 yards per route run, per Tru Media, and that number was even higher before he had to play a game with his backup quarterback. He's being used by Declan Doyle in a way that maximizes his skill set, and it's beautiful to watch. Olave is tied for the NFL lead in catches with 39, and he's already got 537 yards (second) as well. He is a target vacuum in the Saints' high-volume passing offense, seeing a look on 26.3% of his routes, according to Tru Media. He's also generated an explosive play (gain of 15+ yards) on 20.4% of his targets, which is the highest mark of his career to date. He's worked more often on the perimeter this season than last (73.2% of his routes compared with 61.0%), but it hasn't stopped him from being a target hog. London is a completely different — and absurdly good — player whenever Michael Penix Jr . is on the field for the Falcons. Penix has played in 17 games, starting 15 of them, over the last three years. In those games, London has caught 100 of 154 passes for 1,535 yards and eight touchdowns. He's seen a target on 33% of his routes and averaged 9.97 yards per target. All of those are elite, best-of-the-best type of numbers. Unfortunately, quarterback play has undermined his performance whenever someone other than Penix has been out there, but that shouldn't take away from what he does when he has solid QB play. Collins is a monster-sized receiver (6-foot-4, 222 pounds) with a monster skill set. Utilized most often as a pure X receiver (he lines up out wide on 88% of his routes, per Tru Media), Collins is tasked with doing the hardest work a receiver can do. He makes it look relatively easy. He's only played in three games this year due to a hamstring injury, but he's gone for 19-249-3 and looked dominant doing it. I think it's important to note that while St. Brown often gets labeled as "the best slot receiver" in football, he's actually played more often on the perimeter than on the inside in three straight seasons. He does everything, not just the slot stuff. He's obviously absurdly good in the slot, but he's also really good outside. He's gone for 100-plus catches and 1,100-plus yards in four consecutive seasons, and five 10-plus touchdowns in each of the last three. He's on pace to top all of those numbers again this year. He's the model of consistency. It's easy to forget what Lamb did the last time he was fully healthy and had Dak Prescott under center for a full season: He led the NFL with 135 catches and piled up 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns while being named a First Team All-Pro. This season, he's reminding people just how good he is. He's tied with Olave for the leag [... truncated ...]
Jakobi Meyers is a waiver-wire target due to his potential for increased production if the Jaguars rely more on passing
In a game that featured plenty of questionable coaching decisions and miscues on both sides, it was the Jaguars who came out on top, beating the Eagles 19-17 on a last-second field goal in London. The Jaguars only had that opportunity because the Eagles botched their late-game clock management and kicked a field goal of their own to take a 17-16 lead with eight seconds left on the clock. If the Eagles had managed the clock properly, they would have kicked that field goal as time expired. But the eight seconds went like this: Jaguars kickoff returner Ameer Abdullah took seven seconds to return the kickoff 53 yards, and with one second left, Cam Little hit a 57-yard field goal as time expired. The snap on the field goal was made by defensive tackle DaVon Hamilton, who filled in when regular long snapper Ross Matiscik was ruled out with a shoulder injury. The Jaguars had previously missed an extra point because of a high snap by Hamilton, but on the game-winner, Hamilton got the job done. The Eagles’ poor clock management was the game’s final mistake, but the Jaguars made plenty, too: The Jaguars won even though they twice came away with nothing after having first-and-goal at the 1-yard line. At the end of the first half, they ran four straight plays from the 1-yard line: A run for no gain, two incompletions and a run for a six-yard loss as time expired on the second quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Jaguars had a truly disastrous series of plays that saw them get flagged for a false start, get two delay of game penalties, burn a timeout, and ultimately throw an incomplete pass on fourth-and-goal. But Jaguars wide receiver Parker Washington stepped up in a big way, scoring two spectacular touchdowns. Washington turned a short pass into a 51-yard touchdown in the first quarter to give the Jaguars an early lead, then he made a tremendous catch on a 27-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter to give the Jaguars a go-ahead touchdown. Washington finished with six catches for 124 yards and was the best player on the field. In addition to his contributions on offense, Washington also had a great late punt return, staying up long enough to reach the two-minute warning, which helped the Jaguars run clock at a point in the game when it looked like it would be the Eagles who needed extra time. It turned out to be the Jaguars who needed extra time, and they got it even though the scoreboard clock initially ran down to 0:00 before Little’s game-winning field goal. Replays showed the officials were correct to put a second back on the clock. Matiscik wasn’t the only important Jaguars player to suffer an injury: left tackle Anton Harrison was carted to the locker room with a knee injury, and Jaguars cornerback Montaric Brown suffered a hamstring injury. The Eagles had injuries of their own: They lost running back Will Shipley, leaving Dameon Pierce as the only healthy running back on the active roster. An injury to guard Tyler Steen also meant the Eagles were down four of their five Week1 offensive line starters. Eagles safety Michael Carter was also ruled out, and linebacker Jalyx Hunt suffered what initially looked like a serious knee injury, but he refused the cart that had been brought out for him and walked to the locker room. The game had an exciting ending but was a mess for much of it, but it’s the Eagles who are in a real mess right now: They entered the season with Super Bowl aspirations but are now 2-3 and facing major questions about whether their offense can ever get on track. The Jaguars, meanwhile, are 4-1 and look like they’re going to cruise their way to an AFC South title
Jaguars wide receiver Parker Washington had the first big play in London today. At least, the first big play that wasn’t called back by a penalty . Washington caught a short pass from Trevor Lawrence and raced through the Eagles’ secondary for a 51-yard touchdown to give Jacksonville a 7-0 lead. On the play just before that one, Jaguars wide receiver Travis Hunter caught a nine-yard pass on second-and-7, a rare offensive contribution for the two-way player who has played mostly defense this season. The Jaguars’ drive started when the Eagles were stopped on fourth-and-1, on a surprising play call when they had Jalen Hurts in the shotgun and handing off to running back Will Shipley, rather than taking it himself on the tush push. Now the Eagles’ much-maligned offense needs to get something going

The Jaguars defeated the Bengals 22-17 on Sunday, with Joe Burrow throwing for 428 yards but also throwing two interceptions
It's a rematch from Week 2 last year as the Jacksonville Jaguars visit Paycor Stadium to face the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 4 of the 2026 NFL season. The Bengals won 31-27 in that Week 2 contest in 2025, but quarterback Joe Burrow was injured in the game and missed the next nine. The star quarterback is healthy for this one, and it could be a back-and-forth affair between likely playoff contenders. Kickoff in Cincinnati is set for 1 p.m. ET. Jacksonville comes into this game off a dominant performance against the Patriots . Trevor Lawrence was on fire, throwing three touchdown passes in the 35-6 victory, but the real story of the game was Jacksonville's defense. The Jaguars forced 2025 MVP finalist Drake Maye into three turnovers, including an interception in the end zone. Lawrence had three touchdowns against Cincinnati a season ago but also threw two interceptions. Despite Travis Etienne's departure, Jacksonville's offense continues to flourish with Bhayshul Tuten operating as the lead back and Parker Washington picking up where he left off as the team's top receiving option. Washington has 221 yards and two scores through three games this season. The Bengals gave up 30 points to the Steelers in Week 3, and their new-look defense hasn't been a major upgrade from last year's porous unit. Ja'Marr Chase will relish the opportunity to face Jacksonville as he went for 165 yards and a score in last year's meeting, though he might see more double coverages as a result of that performance. Look for Tee Higgins to be more involved if the Jaguars decide to try containing Chase. Burrow has thrown five touchdowns over the last two games with no interceptions, so he's operating at a superstar level right now. Week 4 is here. We got underway on Thursday with the Deshaun Watson renaissance continuing, as the Browns moved to 3-1. The less said about that, the better. Week 4 has some great games. We head to London for the first time, we have the Jaguars facing the Bengals, the Rams facing the under-pressure Eagles, the red-hot 49ers against the misfiring Broncos, and the now-weekly humiliation of the Los Angeles Chargers — this time at the hands of the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks. For anyone new here, this column is simple. Every week, we pit sportsbook rankings against expert consensus rankings. I find the largest discrepancy between the sportsbooks’ fantasy football rankings and the experts: one quarterback, one running back, one wide receiver, and one tight end. Before we get into this week’s wars, let’s take a look at how last week played out . The scoring system is closest to the final rank wins. I highlighted these players before Sunday’s games: Baker Mayfield – Sportsbooks win De’Von Achane – Push due to injury Parker Washington – Experts win Hunter Henry – Experts win That gives the experts another weekly win. They move to 2-0. Now, let’s get into Week 4. PlayerProfiler is home to award-winning dynasty rankings and tools. Our Dynasty Deluxe package includes complete Dynasty Rankings , Rookie Rankings , Trade Analyzer , Draft Planner , Mock Drafts , and more. Check it out! Sportsbook Rank: QB7 Expert Consensus Rank: QB10 In his first three seasons in the NFL, Bryce Young has been a low-end QB2 in fantasy. He has finished as the QB23, QB20, and QB19. Sure, there have been spike weeks — a 31-point outing in Week 11 last year against the Falcons comes to mind — but for the most part, Young hasn’t been a reliable option in one-QB leagues. This year, though, things are different. Through three games, Young ranks as the QB4 in fantasy. He’s coming off his worst game of the admittedly young season, in which he got banged up by a wandering cleat early in the game. Young has 939 passing yards, tops in the league so far. That’s impressive, given Young had crossed 200 yards just four times last season. Bryce Young’s 2026 Explosive Play Rating Young gets the buffet defense of the Detroit Lions in Week 4. Through three games, the Lions have given up a league-high 299 passing yards per game and the most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks. Though the Panthers could be without ascending wide receiver Jalen Coker, they will be without starting corners Jaycee Horn and Mike Jackson. If Detroit takes advantage of Carolina’s depleted secondary, it could force Young into a more aggressive passing game script. His passing total is at 246.5 yards, the seventh-highest on the week. The sportsbooks have Young at QB7, while the experts have him at QB10. Sportsbook Rank: RB12 Expert Consensus Rank: RB19 Bucky Irving’s stock plummeted over the offseason after he missed a chunk of the 2025 campaign due to a shoulder injury. When he returned, Irving’s role was reduced. He became an afterthought in the receiving game and saw no goal-line work. Irving posted notable declines in success rate, EPA/rush, red zone efficiency, targets, and fantasy points per game. The Buccaneers’ run game has been one of the only highlights on an otherwise miserable offense led by under-pressure Todd Bowels — sorry, Bowles. Irving ranks as the RB14 through three weeks, which represents a solid return on investment for anyone who drafted him. rookie season type run here for bucky irving pic.twitter.com/S8Skmj00Kx — Josh Norris (@JoshNorris) September 23, 2026 In Week 4, Bucky Irving gets the Green Bay Packers, who have given up the most fantasy points per game to running backs. Granted, they just played Bijan Robinson. Still, Irving ranks sixth in targets and fifth in receptions among all running backs. The sportsbooks have Irving at RB12, while the experts have him at RB19. Sportsbook Rank: WR48 Expert Consensus Rank: WR35 De’Von Achane’s ACL i [... truncated ...]
