Michael Wilson's fantasy value may be impacted by the Cardinals' offseason moves and potential quarterback uncertainty
What the 2026 NFL Draft class lacked in quarterback talent, the 2027 crop of prospects promises to make up for . With Arch Manning, Dante Moore and a host of other exciting arms set to make the leap from college next spring, NFL teams in need of a franchise signal-caller should view next year's draft as the jackpot. Only the Las Vegas Raiders took a potential plug-and-play starter in the 2026 NFL Draft, and even then, Fernando Mendoza might have to wait at least a few games behind Kirk Cousins . Next year, more than just a couple of teams could have starting jobs available for rookies. Some of those squads may already have the answer to their problems on their roster. The Miami Dolphins , for instance, could be set for the foreseeable future with Malik Willis on board as a breakout candidate. Others are in for a long year on offense and will enter the draft in desperate search of a cornerstone around which to build their rosters in 2027 and beyond. Here are seven teams that might be in the market for a quarterback in the 2027 draft, where they could pick in the draft order and which player on their roster has a chance to shake up those plans. The situation: The gap between the Cardinals and the rest of football's best division is so wide that moving on from Kyler Murray made all the sense in the world. This is the right time for Arizona to embrace a rebuild. The team reportedly informed Jacoby Brissett that he will handle starting duties, but he wants to be paid as such and continues to skip voluntary workouts in search of a new contract. Given that Arizona may be the likeliest team to hunt for a new quarterback in the next draft and already has a potential next man up in 2026 draftee Carson Beck , it would behoove the franchise to avoid paying Brissett starter money beyond this fall. The floor and ceiling: Brissett started 12 games last year and went 1-11, albeit with respectable stats. Given that he just oversaw such a miserable season and that the NFC West should be just as tough in 2026, both the floor and ceiling are tremendously low for Arizona. This team might be the safest bet to land the No. 1 pick. The veteran who could change the plan: Neither Brissett nor Gardner Minshew has secured a long-term starting job at any previous stop. It is Brissett's role for now, though, and to his credit, he has been serviceable before. Believe it or not, he actually stands as the NFL's all-time career leader in interception percentage at a minuscule 1.4%. However, that will not be enough to convince Arizona he is anything more than a short-term bridge to whomever it selects early in the draft. The situation: The revolving door spins back around this year with the chance of another shake-up in the starting group. Deshaun Watson will get a shot at the job and only has to beat out a couple of second-year players who struggled to latch onto the role in their rookie seasons: Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel . Taylen Green arrived via the draft as a sixth-round pick and is the only fresh face in the room -- one whose athleticism is tantalizing but likely not enough on its own to reasonably fight for a spot in the lineup unless things truly go haywire. The floor and ceiling: The defense is ready to compete for a playoff berth, so all the Browns need from their offense is competence. If Watson revitalizes his career following a season lost to a torn Achilles, or if one of Sanders and Gabriel takes the next step, this will be a respectable team. That's a major "if," however. Another year of mediocre quarterbacking likely leaves Cleveland at the bottom of the AFC North and searching for a franchise quarterback inside the top 10 yet again. The veteran who could change the plan: Watson is not guaranteed to land the job, but he will get every chance to return to the top of the depth chart and make his contract look slightly less atrocious. It has been six years, an Achilles tear and an off-field scandal since Watson last played a [... truncated ...]
Jeremiyah Love and Fernando Mendoza are emerging as early favorites for NFL Rookie of the Year, with odds of +430. Love, a RB drafted by the Arizona Cardinals, showed explosive speed and production in college. Mendoza, a QB joining the Las Vegas Raiders, brings championship and Heisman hype. Carnell Tate, a WR for the Tennessee Titans, is also noted for his route-running ability
Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur didn’t have much to add about where things stand with quarterback Jacoby Brissett at a Monday press conference. Brissett skipped the first two phases of the team’s voluntary work this spring as he looks for an adjustment to his contract and he remained away as they began organized team activities on Monday. LaFleur downplayed the impact of Brissett’s absence earlier this month by noting that the veteran has “played a lot of football” and would be able to pick up what the team is doing. LaFleur did the same on Monday by saying that Brissett has “done probably everything we’ve ever done schematically.” He said everything else is status quo from where it was the last time he discussed Brissett’s absence. “It’s the same as where we were a few weeks ago. . . . We’ve had contact, I’ll leave it at that,” LaFleur said. LaFleur said he would be more concerned with a younger player missing time. Third-round pick Carson Beck would fall into that category, but he is seeing plenty of action along with Gardner Minshew while Brissett is away from the team
Cardinals quarterback Jacoby Brissett missed the early phases of the team’s offseason program and nothing changed with Monday’s move into the organized team activity phase of their work. Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Brissett did not attend the team’s first OTA on Monday. The third phase of the offseason program features the most on-field work and the quarterbacking portion will be handled by Gardner Minshew and third-round pick Carson Beck. The OTAs are voluntary and next month’s minicamp will be the only mandatory work of the offseason. Brissett will be subject to fines if he does not attend those workouts. Brissett started the final 12 games of the season for the Cardinals in 2025 and is looking for a bump in pay that reflects the possibility that he’ll be the starting quarterback again this season. Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur said earlier this month that the team has had good dialogue with Brissett, but didn’t share any of the details of how that dialogue might lead to Brissett’s appearance on the practice field. Given the increased work for the others in his absence, the current approach could ultimately work against Brissett’s bid to land the starting role

You may have heard the 2027 draft class is a special one. I'm here to agree. The sheer number of stone-cold blue-chip prospects already in this class means it could give the historic 2021 and 2011 draft classes a run for their money. The biggest question that still needs answering, though, is how the quarterback class will shake out. There's plenty of talent at the position in college football, but nearly all of the top quarterbacks still have multiple years of eligibility remaining. If we don't see major leaps from many of those prospects, they could easily return to school for 2027. Three signal-callers hear their names called in this mock draft -- all in the top five. Note: The draft order was determined using the reverse Super Bowl odds at DraftKings Sportsbook . The Jets have three first-round picks: their own, the Cowboys ' from the Quinnen Williams trade and the Colts ' from the Sauce Gardner trade. The Cowboys have the Packers ' selection from the Micah Parsons trade. It's inevitable. The next-generation Manning is going high in the draft. No one wants to be the GM who passes on a Arch Manning , especially when the alternative is Carson Beck. Manning came on strong down the stretch in 2025 after a rocky start. If he maintains that level of play for a full season, you can put his name down in ink at No. 1 overall. Jeremiah Smith's blend of size, explosiveness and ball skills is the best we've seen since Calvin Johnson. Even if Malik Willis isn't an overnight success in Miami, this pick could still make sense over a quarterback because of how much Smith moves the needle. A lot of quarterbacks will look good throwing jump balls to Smith. There's a strong chance Dante Moore would have been a Jet had he declared last year, but now he gets another year of seasoning at Oregon. Moore is a silky-smooth pocket passer who can hit throws at every level of the field. He just needs to improve his play under pressure this season. Drake Lindsey is an up-and-comer more people need to know about because of his certified rocket launcher for a right arm. He's right there with South Carolina's LaNorris Sellers for the strongest arm in college football. Unlike Sellers, Lindsey has shown the ability to throw with multiple speeds and layer passes beautifully over the middle. He'll need to improve his accuracy and pocket presence this year, but I like his chances of doing just that in Year 2 as a starter. Dylan Stewart is the rare 6-foot-5, 245-pounder who moves like a wide receiver. He's so athletic that he regularly wins reps untouched. Stewart needs to add more moves to his arsenal, but it won't take much for him to become an impact player in the NFL . Cam Coleman is a wildly explosive 6-foot-3, 200-pound wideout who spent the past two seasons stuck with poor quarterback play at Auburn. That changes this year as he heads to Texas to pair with Arch Manning. He should be a household name by season's end. Trevor Goosby could have been a first-rounder had he declared last year, but he returns for a potential national title run. He's a high-end athlete who mirrors speed with ease. That's exactly what Cam Ward needs on the blind side. Leonard Moore's sophomore tape was special. The only things keeping him from being a top-five pick are positional value and an exceptionally strong class. He looks like a Day 1 lockdown corner in the NFL. Colin Simmons is a twitchy edge-rusher who runs circles around college offensive tackles. Despite being undersized, he flashes speed-to-power and holds up well against the run. He would have been a slam-dunk top-five pick in this past class. Jordan Seaton started the past two years at Colorado before transferring to LSU this spring. His pass protection was especially impressive, allowing only seven pressures all season. He'd slot in at right tackle and could help give the Giants one of the NFL's best offensive lines. Nick Marsh may not get the same glow-up Fernando Mendoza did after transferring to In [... truncated ...]
As the 2026 NFL season approaches, all starting quarterback positions appear to be filled. Aaron Rodgers is re-signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers, potentially earning up to $25 million. The article ranks projected starting quarterbacks league-wide, with discussion on the situations in Arizona (Jacoby Brissett vs. Kyler Murray, Gardner Minshew II, Carson Beck) and the New York Jets (Geno Smith)
With an improved roster , a difficult road start to the season , a new head coach , and five new starters on the offensive line, the Cleveland Browns 2026 season has a lot of variables. The Browns schedule reveal showed a few games that are now harder because of how things are laid out and a few that could be easier . Cleveland is a huge underdog in Week 1, with one of the lowest betting odds for the Super Bowl as well . As is always true with NFL teams, the focus around the Browns will be on the quarterback position. Deshaun Watson might have the edge , but few believe he has a future in Cleveland. Shedeur Sanders has a chance to establish himself in the league after a rough rookie season, which followed a surprising drop in the 2025 NFL draft. For the Browns, 2026 is about winning games, finding out if they have their QB of the Future, and/or having the best shot at a franchise-level quarterback in the 2027 NFL draft. If the first two are true, Cleveland could add the best talent in college, WR Jeremiah Smith , and be ready to contend in 2027. If not, NFL draft positioning and who else is looking for a quarterback will be key. In both regards, Browns fans should be rooting for the following young quarterbacks, maybe in this order, to have great seasons: Shedeur Sanders – If Sanders can be a really good starter, Cleveland’s ceiling is very high starting in 2027. Sanders being good is THE best thing for the team moving forward. Whether he is or isn’t, the rest of the quarterbacks on this list being good could still help them out. Taylen Green – As a rookie, if Green can show that he can be an explosive playmaker, he gives the Browns an exciting backup and future trade chip, if not a starter. Dillon Gabriel – Gabriel was regarded at a higher level than Sanders coming out, not just by Kevin Stefanski, so a rebound year could up his trade value or solidify him as the team’s backup for the future, even if that rebound comes in preseason and spot duty. Carson Beck – Now we get to other teams, Beck’s Arizona Cardinals spent a 3rd round pick on him, and have a brutal schedule, but if he shows enough as a rookie, it could keep the Cardinals out of the quarterback market next year. If the Browns need to draft one, Arizona will likely be fighting for the worst record in the NFL, even if Beck looks solid. Drew Allar/Will Howard – From a narrative perspective, it won’t be great if the Medina native, Allar , looks good as a rookie. Frankly, a former Ohio State QB would also upset the masses as well. Aaron Rodgers is likely to return for one more season, but if he doesn’t or gets hurt, the Steelers roster is good enough to win some games with adequate quarterback play, keeping them from being near the top of the draft order next year. Cade Klubnik – Even if the Jets win some games with Geno Smith , they have the draft assets to likely move above the Browns (barring Cleveland picking first). Could the 4th round pick out of Clemson show enough, if he takes over late in the season, to keep New York from investing in a quarterback high? Given their draft stockpile, the Jets don’t have to be bad to still be able to draft a top quarterback, so Klubnik is the best way to keep them out of the Browns way. Malik Willis – Of all the quarterbacks on this list, Willis has the most experience. The Miami Dolphins signed Willis in free agency, but then traded WR Jaylen Waddle . If Willis helps win the Dolphins enough games, his contract is reasonable enough for them to hang their hopes on him, especially if they can add Smith to their receiver room. JJ McCarthy – A unique one at the bottom of the list, McCarthy may not start despite being a first-round pick just a couple of years ago. However, Kyler Murray is only signed for one season, and nothing is guaranteed with the Minnesota Vikings . Rooting for McCarthy to turn it around instead of the Vikings bottoming out would be in Cleveland’s interest. Are there any other young QBs that Browns fans [... truncated ...]
The complete NFL schedule for each team was released on Thursday night, and now we have a full picture of how things could shape up. There isn’t a lot when it comes to who “won” with their slate of games outside of favorable bye weeks, or easy opening runs to set up the season — but there are definitely a handful of teams who really got screwed over when it comes to their schedules. These are the four teams that got an added layer of complexity added to their seasons due to scheduling. The Cardinals will need to reconcile two opposing aims in 2026: Establishing Mike LaFleur as a winning coach, while also trying to ensure they tank the hell out of the season so they can find their quarterback of the future in the 2027 draft, because lol no, Carson Beck isn’t the answer. It’s all well and good to say “just tank the year, and give LaFleur a season of grace,” but that’s easier said than done when you’re trying to establish a winning culture inside a locker room. The main issue is that there’s no good place on the Arizona slate where you can find them to at least grab a few wins and prove to themselves that the path is working. An absolutely brutal run kicks the season off due to playing in the NFC West and getting a rough schedule as a result. Look at this opponent run up to the Week 14 bye: Chargers , Seahawks , 49ers , Giants, Lions, Rams , Broncos , Cowboys, Seahawks, Rams, Chiefs , Commanders , Eagles. That is just horrific for a team trying to find a way to win. I don’t know what the Cardinals did to deserve having FIVE divisional matchups before their bye. The big thing with the Chargers’ slate is how well rested all of their opponents will be heading into their games. This chart really tells the whole story, with Los Angeles having an incredible 24 fewer days of rest over the course of the season compared to their opponents. Not only this, but the Chargers have a bye week that falls too early in the season. They will be off Week 7, and still have the bulk of their games ahead of them. It’s especially rough when you factor in that the rest of the AFC West got fairly beneficial schedules for 2026 and that adds more difficulty for them. The 49ers’ have two international games, kicking off in Australia against the Rams, then heading to Mexico City later in the season. That would be difficult enough with irregular travel adding to the challenges of playing in the NFC West, but San Francisco also had a brutal run after their game against the Vikings in Mexico City, which comes at a critical time when they will be eyeing the playoffs. From Week 13 until the end of the season here are their opponents in order: Seahawks, Giants, Rams, Chargers, Chiefs, Eagles, Cardinals. The only gimme on the slate is Arizona, with so many tough games coming on the road to the playoffs. It’s incredibly easy to hit a skid, lose confidence, and limp into the playoffs at best. In addition, the 49ers have some brutal travel with their trip to Australia, as well as heading cross-country to New York and Atlanta . Overall this was just a brutal lineup of games. This has much less to do with the fact that the Bears face the toughest strength of schedule in the NFL, and far more to do with their game scheduling. Across the 17 game regular season we see Chicago play five games in primetime, two with 4:25 p.m. ET kickoffs, and they play on both holidays. This means that over half the season sees Chicago moving around days, slots, and zones — which is really difficult when you’re trying to build routine and consistency. Obviously, Ben Johnson is the kind of coach who can get solid performances out of his players, but there’s no doubt this is a tricky way to operate in a season with all the pressure of national games, the attention they bring, and changing up preparation from week to week. Throw that in with a tough opponent slate and it might be tricky for the Bears to have as much success this season
The Arizona Cardinals schedule for 2026 is out and even though we know the teams before hand, it is more brutal than expected. A week 14 bye week for a team that has the best odds of the first pick in the 2027 NFL Draft is actually insane. However, the way the schedule plays out, it would be easy to move Carson Beck in as a starter, barring injuries to Jacoby Brissett and Gardner Minshew , for the final four games of the 2026 season. While four games may not be enough to truly evaluate Beck, where on the schedule could the Cardinals conceivably drop him in and it not be in the “tough part of the schedule”? The late bye is what I was concerned about. This is a season where the Cardinals more than ever needed a week 9-11 bye week, so they could get Beck enough starts to make a proper evaluation. However, if you do it after the bye week, that is easily the softest part of the schedule (on paper). Let’s buckle up for what could be a bumpy 2026 ride
We don't know if Fernando Mendoza will be starting at quarterback for the Raiders in Week 1 of the regular season, but we do know who the Raiders will be playing in the first overall pick's potential debut. The NFL's schedule reveal on Thursday night shows that the Raiders will host the Dolphins at 4:25 p.m. ET on Sunday, September 13. The game will be on Fox. Mendoza will have to get the nod over Kirk Cousins in order to start for the Raiders. Offseason addition Malik Willis is expected to make his first appearance for the Dolphins. Both teams will definitely have head coaches making their offseason debut as Las Vegas hired Klint Kubiak in February and Miami hired Jeff Hafley in January. Sunday will also feature a pair of divisional games in the late afternoon window. The Packers will visit the Vikings while the Commanders will be in Philadelphia to renew their acquaintance with the Eagles. The NFC North matchup will be on CBS while the NFC East clash will be broadcast by Fox. The other late game on Sunday afternoon will see the Cardinals visiting the Chargers on CBS. Arizona could have Jacoby Brissett , Gardner Minshew or rookie Carson Beck at quarterback for that contest. The 1 p.m. ET games will send the Bills to Houston for a date with the Texans while the Browns go on the road against the Jaguars. The Colts will host the Ravens, the Saints will visit the Lions, the Buccaneers will travel to Cincinnati for Dexter Lawrence 's first game as a Bengal, and the Steelers will kick off the Mike McCarthy era — with or without Aaron Rodgers — at home against the Falcons. Previous reports revealed that the Jets will be in Tennessee and that the Bears will head to Charlotte to face the Panthers. The Jets-Titans game will be on CBS along with the Bills-Texans, Ravens-Colts and Browns-Jaguars games. All the other 1 p.m. games will be on Fox. The entire Week 1 slate will kick off on Wednesday, September 9 with a Patriots-Seahawks Super Bowl rematch in Seattle on NBC. Thursday will bring a Netflix game between the 49ers and Rams in the NFL's first game in Melbourne and Sunday night will find the Cowboys at MetLife Stadium to meet the Giants on NBC's Sunday Night Football. Those games were all announced ahead of Thursday's full schedule reveal, which was also the case for the ESPN Monday night game between the Broncos and Chiefs in Kansas City
The NFL schedule reveal for Week 1 features several intriguing matchups, including the Raiders hosting the Dolphins, the Packers visiting the Vikings, and the Cardinals facing the Chargers. Quarterback situations remain uncertain for some teams, with Fernando Mendoza potentially starting for the Raiders and Malik Willis expected to debut for the Dolphins. Other notable games include the Commanders at Eagles, Bills at Texans, Browns at Jaguars, Colts hosting the Ravens, Saints visiting the Lions, Buccaneers at Bengals, Steelers hosting the Falcons, Jets in Tennessee, and Bears at Panthers. The week kicks off with a Patriots-Seahawks Super Bowl rematch
Fit often matters as much as talent to success in the NFL . That's especially true for rookies, as it's the shortest offseason they'll ever have at any level of football to get up to speed. Landing in a spot that gives them a clear path to the field and plays to their strengths is a big factor in their immediate impact. The All-Rookie team isn't a formal award like All-Pros or Pro Bowlers. The PFWA has done its own since 1974, but its positional designations are incredibly dated, with two running backs and three linebackers included. Let's use modern positional designations and predict who will have the most productive seasons among this year's rookie class based on their talent, NFL readiness and opportunity to produce. This is the easiest one on the entire list. Fernando Mendoza could easily be the only rookie quarterback who starts this season. The 13th overall pick, Ty Simpson, will only play for the Rams if Matthew Stafford goes down, and third-rounders Carson Beck and Drew Allar were third-rounders for a reason. If Mendoza doesn't start Week 1, he should by Week 5 at the latest, and he'll have one of the best play-callers in the NFL in Klint Kubiak. It's either Jeremiyah Love or his former Notre Dame teammate Jadarian Price here. Anyone else would be a long shot in a historically weak running back class with only one other top-100 pick (Kaelon Black), and he backs up Christian McCaffrey. Love lands with coach Mike LaFleur, who, as offensive coordinator for the Jets , had Breece Hall averaging 5.8 yards per carry as a rookie before tearing his ACL midseason. Carnell Tate is an obvious selection. He walks into a spot where he's the unquestioned No. 1 receiver option for Cam Ward, filling the role the Titans missed dearly last year. KC Concepcion is a little less obvious, as he doesn't exactly have a high-volume passing offense to put up big numbers. What he does have, however, is a clear-cut path to targets and an NFL-ready game. Concepcion finished as the No. 1 wide receiver on my draft board because of his ability to separate against man coverage, which should translate immediately in the NFL. Antonio Williams is one of the most experienced slot receivers in the draft class, with nearly 1,000 routes run from that spot in his collegiate career. He'll fit seamlessly into the Commanders ' offense, which lost leading receiver Deebo Samuel, who operated primarily from the slot. Williams has an obvious path to a hefty target load with Jayden Daniels hopefully healthy all season. There wasn't a clean landing spot for any of the top tight ends this year. None of the nine taken in the top 100 went to a team where they'll be the unquestioned No. 1 at the position. Kenyon Sadiq , at minimum, will garner schemed targets because of his ability after the catch. He should easily usurp last year's second-rounder, Mason Taylor, for targets in the Jets' offense. Spencer Fano had the cleanest tape of any offensive lineman in the draft and will be the clear-cut starter at left tackle for the Browns next season. Blake Miller is the only other tackle in the draft with no roadblocks to a starting role, so he's the choice here by default. Monroe Freeling, Max Iheanachor and Caleb Lomu all look destined to take redshirt years with the Panthers , Steelers and Patriots, respectively. There were three top-15 picks who will start at guard as rookies, meaning Francis Mauigoa is the odd man out here. I believe Olaivavega Ioane's experience at guard will make his transition easier, while Kadyn Proctor's biggest weakness -- his foot speed -- gets mitigated by moving inside. While Keylan Rutledge technically never played center in 3,019 career snaps in college, this looks like his most likely position based on the contracts Houston gave out this offseason. As the second-ranked true interior offensive lineman on my board, Rutledge playing a new position shouldn't worry Texans fans much. The common thread here is their work in the run game, wh [... truncated ...]
The first few months of an NFL rookie's career are a whirlwind as they progress from the draft to the regular season, and the 2026 class just completed one of the biggest steps along the way. Rookie minicamps were held over the last two weekends and offered first-year players an opportunity to work with their new coaches and teammates on the practice field for the first time. Newcomers for every team but one participated in the two- to three-day minicamps. The Detroit Lions canceled their minicamp and were the only team to use their time differently. First impressions of their rookies, including No. 17 pick Blake Miller , will have to wait until OTAs start on May 27. Reports from throughout the league, plus comments from coaches and players, offered insight into how this year's draftees will settle in with their respective squads. From position changes to role projections, and from measurements to football IQ, there are plenty of new data points to digest. Here's what we learned, with assistance from CBS Sports Research's Kyle Ngo, about every team's first-year players in their practice debuts LaFleur also placed value in the fact that Beck gained ample experience with NFL philosophies during his runs at Georgia and Miami. Still, he is an older rookie with an elbow injury history, so even if his transition to the NFL is speedy, the Cardinals might still be in the market for a first-round quarterback in next year's draft. While that is not a particularly rave review for a running back whom the Cardinals invested heavily in as the No. 3 overall pick, his star potential remains as high as anyone in the draft class. Terrell dealt with a hamstring injury throughout the pre-draft process and aggravated the issue during his first run at his private pro day on March 30. He was long projected as a first-round pick, but the hamstring concerns might have factored into him remaining on the board when Atlanta went on the clock at pick No. 48. Widely considered the best guard in the draft, Ioane fills a significant need on the interior offensive line for the Ravens . The question is where he will settle in. Ioane was primarily a left guard at Penn State but has experience on the right side of the line and at center. Baltimore has a spot to fill at center after Tyler Linderbaum left in free agency, but guard is the more natural fit for their No. 14 pick. "He was just telling me just to be myself and stop overthinking," the fourth-round receiver said. "I was just in my head a little bit and getting jitters and things like that. And he was just telling me just be yourself and once you're here, you're here for a reason." Bell was a consensus All-American last season at UConn and was responsible for four drops on 141 targets, per PFF, so he is typically sure-handed. While he started just one full season in college, Freeling showed enough potential as a junior to warrant a first-round selection. He remains a developmental prospect, and it is a good sign that he is already up to 325 pounds ahead of his rookie season. Dave Canales said the Georgia product is "still growing into whatever his frame is." Chicago will become Miller's fourth team in five years. The 28-year-old spent the last two seasons with the Steelers and accumulated just 14 catches in that span, so he merely represents veteran depth in what is a young and high-upside receiving unit. Miller's career highlight came in 2020 when he won the Super Bowl with the Buccaneers . The Bengals signed Wright to an undrafted free agent deal on the heels of his five-year college career, which included stops at USC and Nebraska. In addition to his acting skills. The defensive back tallied three interceptions and 16 pass breakups in college. Todd Monken said Concepcion's knee is "great" after what was described as a "routine and preventative" arthroscopic surgery ahead of the draft. His receiving traits set him up to become a go-to target for a Browns quarterback group that desperately n [... truncated ...]
Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur addressed Jacoby Brissett's absence from voluntary offseason workouts due to contract desires, stating that dialogue is ongoing and everything is good. While Brissett misses time in a new offense, LaFleur emphasized his experience and ongoing communication. Carson Beck and Gardner Minshew are getting more reps, which could impact Brissett's starting role if his absence continues
The Arizona Cardinals took former University of Miami quarterback Carson Beck with the first pick in the third round of this year's draft because of his big-game experience, arm strength, size (6-foot-4, 220 pounds), accuracy, toughness, and intangibles. Beck enters a QB room in Arizona that already includes veterans Jacoby Brissett and Gardner Minshew. New head coach Mike LaFleur said that "it won't be the worst thing" for Beck if he "ends up sitting for part or all of his rookie season." That won't be anything new for the 24-year-old, who was a backup at Georgia for his first three seasons, including sitting behind current Los Angeles Rams backup QB Stetson Bennett in 2022. "It benefits anyone in any position to be able to sit back," LaFleur said. "Sometimes, guys don't have the choice because you have to put your best 22 out on the field there." The Cardinals have some maneuvering to do with Brissett's contract this year, but that should be taken care of, and he's fully expected to start under center in 2026 after a career season in 2025 in Arizona. Beck has plenty of long-term upside as a dynasty target in fantasy, but he won't be on the redraft radar at all
Arizona Cardinals RB Jeremiyah Love (+300) is the favorite for Offensive Rookie of the Year, followed by Las Vegas Raiders QB Fernando Mendoza. Other notable rookies with odds include Titans WR Carnell Tate, Saints WR Jordyn Tyson, and Seahawks RB Jadarian Price. Quarterbacks Carson Beck and Ty Simpson also have odds, while the Defensive Rookie of the Year race features Jets WR David Bailey and Buccaneers LB Rueben Bain Jr
The Cardinals selected Beck in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft, 65th overall. The Cardinals were looking to add a quarterback in the draft after cutting 2019 first-overall pick Kyler Murray, and Arizona has opted to go with Beck with the first pick of the third round. Beck was a full-time starter in each of his last three years in college, wrapping up his career by leading Miami to the College Football Playoff National Championship Game, ultimately falling short to Fernando Mendoza and Indiana. Beck was an All-ACC Third-Team selection in 2025, when he completed 72.4 percent of his passes for 3,813 yards, 30 touchdowns and 12 interceptions over 16 games. He has an NFL-ready 6-foot-4, 233-pound frame, and Beck looked more comfortable out of the pocket and with his reads as he progressed in his college career, but he did run into some inconsistencies in throwing the deep ball and doesn't sling the ball as hard as other quarterbacks. He also had turnover issues in college, something he'll need to clean up if he wants to succeed at the NFL level. Jacoby Brissett and Gardner Minshew are the top QBs on Arizona's depth chart, but Beck may have the opportunity to compete for the starting job during the offseason program and training camp
The Arizona Cardinals have selected QB Carson Beck with the No. 65 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. After rumors were swirling that the Cardinals were going to take Beck at the top of the second round, Arizona gets its man a round later. Beck has served as a quarterback in pro-style systems, so a jump to the NFL shouldn't be too overwhelming for him. He gets the ball out quickly, but struggles a bit with errant throws when under pressure. With Kyler Murray gone and contract issues surrounding Jacoby Brissett, Beck could be the Cardinals' starter under center from day one. He should be a very good fit in coach Mike LaFleur's offense
