The NFL is expanding its international game schedule to up to 10 games per season as early as 2027 and will no longer allow teams to protect home games from being played overseas. Previously, teams could protect two games. The Detroit Lions are scheduled to play in Munich against the New England Patriots in November. Aidan Hutchinson's work is highlighted, Calvin Johnson offered advice to rookies, Sean McVay reflected on the Jared Goff trade, David Montgomery sold a home, and Nashville landed Super Bowl LXIV in 2030
Rams head coach Sean McVay expressed regret on the 'Bussin with the Boys' podcast regarding how he handled the 2021 trade of quarterback Jared Goff to the Detroit Lions. McVay admitted he lacked the courage to communicate the business side of the game directly to Goff, leading to the quarterback being blindsided by the trade. While not necessarily regretting the decision itself, McVay stated he would handle the communication differently now, prioritizing transparency and avoiding catching the player off guard
Entering his 10th NFL season as head coach of the Los Angeles Rams , Sean McVay has been the gold standard for culture building, player development, in-game schematics, and coaching discipleship. 2026 will feature his 5th offensive coordinator, 4th defensive coordinator, and 5th special teams coordinator. Sean McVay has remained the architect of the offense, although his recent hires have given interesting wrinkles and personnel packaging compared to the early years. The defense saw a drastic change from 2019 into the 2020 decade. While the special teams has never recovered since the days of John Fassel. Here’s a look down memory lane of the staffs that Sean McVay has formed year after year. Fresh off of being hired at age 30, McVay targeted legendary coach, Wade Phillips to be his defensive mastermind. His recruiting pitch worked and Phillips began to unleash the full potential of Aaron Donald and company. McVay also secured the services of former colleague Matt LaFleur, whom he worked with in Washington. Rams offense: 1st of 32 (29.9 ppg) Rams defense: 12th of 32 (20.6 ppg against) Within one year, McVay already lost pieces of his staff. Matt LaFleur left Los Angeles for the Tennessee Titans . His quarterbacks coach, Greg Olson , parted for the Oakland Raiders to join Jon Gruden. Zac Taylor slid into the role of quarterbacks coach while the Rams opted to work without an official offensive coordinator. Shane Waldron was also promoted to passing game coordinator. Rams offense: 2nd of 32 (32.9 ppg) Rams defense: 20th of 32 (24.0 ppg against) Once again, McVay opted to navigate the season without an official offensive coordinator but the Rams experienced significant regression off of their Super Bowl run. A lot of that was due to Todd Gurley ’s chronic knee injury and Jared Goff’s rise in turnovers. McVay also lost Zac Taylor to the Cincinnati Bengals . Rams offense: 11th of 32 (24.6 ppg) Rams defense: 17th of 32 (22.8 ppg against) After seeing the Vic Fangio defense limit his offense over the past year and a half, McVay opted to hire a disciple of Fangio’s, Brandon Staley. With Wade Phillips contract expired, McVay made the switch at defensive coordinator. Using his ties to Jay Gruden, McVay poached Kevin O’Connell from the Washington Redskins , giving himself a sounding board in the offensive room. Rams offense: 22nd of 32 (23.3 ppg) Rams defense: 1st of 32 (18.5 ppg against) The staff’s full potential was unleashed with the acquisition of Matthew Stafford . Jared Goff was identified as the weak link within the offense and Sean McVay and Kevin O’Connell immediately course-corrected the offense under Stafford. Brandon Staley departed after one year for the Los Angeles Chargers head coaching job. Raheem Morris, another former colleague during McVay’s Washington years, became the new DC. Rams offense: 7th of 32 (27.1 ppg) Rams defense: 15th of 32 (21.9 ppg against) Kevin O’Connell was poached by the Minnesota Vikings after Super Bowl LVI. After serving on McVay’s staff from 2018-2020, Liam Coen became the new offensive coordinator. The season was largely derailed by injuries however the Rams offensive play design surprisingly lacked a lot of creativity. Matthew Stafford’s offseason elbow injury might have been the factor in that. Rams offense: 27th of 32 (18.1 ppg) Rams defense: 21st of 32 (22.6 ppg against) After questioning his own future, Sean McVay did return for year 7. Liam Coen went back to the University of Kentucky. This prompted McVay to hire Mike LaFleur, who had been let go from the New York Jets . LaFleur’s hire brought a different look to the Rams offense, bringing wrinkles of Kyle Shanahan’s offense in San Francisco . This was the year that the Rams started to run more gap and duo with their running game. Rams offense: 8th of 32 (23.8 ppg) Rams defense: 19th of 32 (22.2 ppg against) Raheem Morris became the 5th coach to land a head coaching job from Sean McVay’s staff. Morris secure the At

By the end of the 2026 season, after the Dallas Cowboys play in Mexico City, the Green Bay Packers will have played the fewest games internationally of any NFL club. That could be changing in the near future. On Tuesday, the NFL’s owners approved the league to schedule 10 international games moving forward, up from the 8 that are on the books for the 2026 season. Maybe more importantly, though, owners also passed a rule that takes away teams’ ability to block specific home games from playing overseas. Currently, teams have the right to protect two home opponents from being played at an international site. This is significant because it’s been made known that the Detroit Lions wanted to keep their matchup against the Packers in Detroit, eliminating Green Bay from having to travel to Germany this year. On top of that, it’s also been rumored that the New Orleans Saints protected their game against the Packers, which kept Green Bay from a Paris matchup. Under these new rules, it’s possible the green and gold would have been playing overseas in 2026. Due to a lot of different factors, the Packers have only played two games outside of the United States so far. Moving forward, though, it’s going to be harder and harder to keep Green Bay stateside for an entire regular-season slate

When the Los Angeles Rams begin OTAs next week on May 26 , the player with the most to gain is also one of the biggest stars in the NFL. Puka Nacua can prove he’s back on the right track after checking in and out of rehab , setting himself up for a record-breaking payday extension before Week 1 if everything goes according to plan. But Nacua isn’t the only Rams player who with something major at stake this offseason and most of them are much less proven as far less established. Who else has the most to gain? Just by keeping his name in the headlines for football reasons only, Nacua separates himself from all the ugly headlines of the past . He is the face of the franchise and all fans want from him moving forward is stories about how much he’s killing it in practice. If he does that, Nacua could set a new record for receiver salary, upwards of $45 million per season. Although he is not going to start this season, and potentially won’t get a shot for several years to come if Matthew Stafford does not retire after 2026 , Simpson is the most hyped Rams rookie since Jared Goff simply because he’s a quarterback. More eyes will be on Simpson this offseason than Stafford, mostly because Stafford does not figure to practice very often and the rookie will be out there everyday. A good offseason for Simpson and fans will be very hyped for the future of the position. Any reports that Simpson is a long ways away from being ready and fans will be even more skeptical of the decision than they already were . Many fans dismissed Ferguson’s lack of opportunities in 2025 as just “Sean McVay being Sean McVay” when it comes to rookies and playing time. However, Ferguson only caught 44% of his targets in the regular season and only caught 1-of-6 in the playoffs. He wasn’t just blocked on the depth chart, Ferguson also failed to capitalize on his opportunities. Then the Rams drafted Max Klare in the second round of the 2026 draft, another tight end. Ferguson must reaffirm that he is the next in line behind Tyler Higbee or risk going the way of the Tutu. Thoughts of Stewart being the next Byron Young seem premature. The Rams may not be able to afford to keep Young after this season, so it is important that an edge rusher steps up and this offseason is the time to do it for Stewart or he risks being a quickly-forgotten rotational piece. At first he was considered one of the more exciting gets of the 2025 draft, a fourth round running back who could challenge Blake Corum for playing time. Instead, Hunter was a healthy scratch almost every week and got 0 offensive snaps over the entire season. Is there a future for Hunter with the Rams? He’s good. Now can he be great? His accolades are impressive: Defensive Rookie of the Year and two Pro Bowls in two years. But for Verse to join the ranks of the league’s top pass rushers, he’s going to need more than 7 sacks. That’s just a fact. At 25-years-old, Verse is at the point of his football career where he can’t make excuses for not finishing off his pressures into sacks. The development is done. Now is the time to move up a level because the Rams shouldn’t pay him $40 million or more per season on an extension if they’re only expecting 6-8 sacks. Verse’s teammate at Florida State and then drafted by L.A. shortly after him, in some ways Fiske was the better rookie. He was also the most forgotten second-year player on the Rams defensive line, totaling just 3 sacks and seeing his playing time decrease from 59% of snaps to only 48% of snaps. That’s the wrong direction. It’s not enough to open up chances for teammates, Fiske must be the one who is making the play sometimes. The offseason is a good time for him to prove that he deserves more playing time next season and that he will go back to the 10 sacks per season that he’s capable of. Same as Ferguson, McClendon must be a little worried that the Rams are already looking for his replacement. Third round pick Keagen Trost might not take over at right t

This article analyzes the NFL's worst quarterback rooms entering the 2026 season, providing Week 1 starting predictions. It highlights players like Daniel Jones, Anthony Richardson, Riley Leonard, and Seth Henigan as examples of teams with potentially weaker QB situations, contrasting them with top-tier talent like Patrick Mahomes and Drake Maye
The goal for any team is to come out with a strong start. The New Orleans Saints will have to do exactly that if they want to get out of the blocks fast. They’re facing an uphill battle right out of the gate, traveling to Detroit to face a Lions team looking to bounce back from a season that fell short of expectations. These are not the Lions of old as they have a formidable offense and a really stout defense. This will be an immediate test for Brandon Staley to show improvement in the interior run defense with young defensive tackles like Christen Miller and company. They’ll be going up against an offensive line anchored by stalwart tackle Penei Sewell and a dynamic, do-it-all running back in Jahmyr Gibbs . Let’s also not forget veteran quarterback Jared Goff , who brings plenty of big-game experience. If you thought it would get any easier after Week 1, think again. The Saints then travel to Baltimore to face two-time MVP Lamar Jackson , now under a new head coach in Jesse Minter. Minter is a defensive specialist who served as the Chargers ’ defensive coordinator last year. His offensive staff will be led by offensive coordinator Declan Doyle, who held the same role last season under Ben Johnson in Chicago . While Johnson was the primary play-caller, his influence and mentorship of Doyle should serve him well in Baltimore, especially with one of the most talented quarterbacks in league history. The first two weeks are very challenging, but after that, the schedule becomes much more manageable. It’s important for the Saints to split those first two games to put themselves in the best position to stack wins heading into Paris and then into their bye week. We’ll continue to dive deeper into the schedule over the next few days. How do you feel about the first few games, and where do you think the Saints can find the most wins? Share your thoughts in the comments below
This is the part of the offseason where football fans are arrested to counting off days on the calendar. We won’t see the Detroit Lions take the field to play football for some time now, but at least we have the schedule for when it will all eventually happen! For the next week here at Pride of Detroit, we’re going to share our thoughts on some schedule superlatives. We’ll be breaking down a different angle of Detroit ’s schedule every day, each of us on staff offering our unique perspective on what the schedule makers have put together for the Lions. Today’s superlative has us circling the most important game—or stretch of games—for Detroit in 2026. Brandon Knapp: Week 10 through Week 12 Patriots through Thanksgiving. This is the big three games in 12 days that everyone is talking about. The Patriots game will be a good test for the Lions going up against the defending AFC Champions. What I’m more interested in is how will Detroit perform against Tampa Bay after playing overseas. Then, on three days rest, they host the Chicago Bears on Thanksgiving. If the Lions can win two out of the three, I’ll take it. Ryan Mathews : Week 1 through Week 5 While the stretch of games from Week 10 through Week 12 is undoubtedly brutal, the Lions need to set the tone long before those games are even played. Detroit must take advantage of the open to their schedule. We’re talking winning a minimum four out of their first five contests to maximize the benefits of having that fourth-place schedule. There’s no shame in losing to the Buffalo Bills in Week 2, but dropping any of the other four games against the New Orleans Saints , New York Jets , Carolina Panthers , or Arizona Cardinals —a group that combined for a 20-48 record in 2025—could prove costly as the schedule ramps up at the end of October. Erik Schlitt: Week 15 through Week 18 The Lions’ closing with three divisional road games over the final four weeks of the regular season means they’ll need to be locked in if they want to win the division. This stretch of games—which also includes a Monday night game against the Giants at Ford Field—should be a critical component in determining whether the Lions can host any postseason games. Jeremy Reisman: Week 15 through Week 18 It has to be how the schedule ends. While the Lions could—and should—get out to a comfortable start given this schedule, everything will come down to how they play within the division on the road. The division, playoff seeding, and the top NFC spot could all be on the line over that final month of the season, setting us up for some very exciting/nerve-wrecking December/January football. Al Karsten: Week 15 through Week 18 The Lions should have an opportunity to reclaim some mojo early, find footing on both sides of the ball, and stack wins. The key, however, will be finishing strong unlike they did last season during a three-game losing streak and four losses in a six-game stretch in the back half of the year. The two biggest blemishes for Detroit last season were they looked lifeless for much of December and they were embarrassed by division rivals Green Bay and Minnesota . Their final four-game stretch in 2026—featuring three divisional road games and a primetime “Monday Night Football” matchup with the Giants—will likely determine their postseason fate and whether they enter the playoffs with momentum. After going a combined 10-2 within the division over the previous two seasons (2023-24) before slipping to 2-4 last year, reclaiming the NFC North crown down the stretch will be critical
Goff finished QB9 in fantasy last year, his third consecutive season in the top 10, as he ranked second in the league in both passing yards (4,564) and TDs (34). Goff has to work harder than most because he doesn't throw deep much and doesn't run at all. The weak-armed Goff ranked 31st in downfield rate (27.9%) for a 6.8-yard average target depth (30th). And he's rushed for two TDs in five years (both in 2023). He benefited last year from a league-high 2,536 yards after the catch, which boosted his YPA to 7.9 (6th). Offensive coordinator Johnny Morton lost play-calling duty midseason and was replaced this offseason by Drew Petzing, formerly of unimpressive Arizona. But Petzing is a close friend of former OC Ben Johnson, and the Lions are hoping for a more Johnson-like play-action scheme. The best thing going for Goff is the surrounding talent. Wide receivers Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams were the only teammates in the top 10 in receiving yards last season, and wideout Isaac TeSlaa is coming off a promising rookie year. A healthy Sam LaPorta would provide a top-tier TE target. RB Jahmyr Gibbs' big-play threat makes the play-action effective, and he's an electric backfield target (77 receptions). The Lions remade their offensive line after a step back last season. The 17th pick in the draft, Blake Miller (6-foot-6, 317) is expected to start at right tackle, pushing All-Pro Penei Sewell to left tackle. Free-agent Cade Mays is a modest upgrade at center. Goff needs a lot to go right, but he should get enough attempts to challenge for the top 10 again
The NFL has made it clear that it intends to engineer memorable matchups for the opening week of the season, saving its prime-time slots for marquee teams. Sometimes, though, the most captivating results come from unexpected games. Might there be the equivalent of the New England Patriots ' 2024 toppling of the Cincinnati Bengals ahead this fall? The league has mostly embraced level matchups for the opening week, but there are still a few opportunities for a true surprise. With the full 2026 NFL schedule released , we took a look at the three seemingly most lopsided matchups and evaluated each on its upset potential on a scale from 1-10. Coming off a disappointing 9-8 campaign, the Lions have the look - and favorable schedule setup - of a team poised to make a postseason return. But there's plenty for Detroit to sort out in the early going. A reshuffled offensive line will flip All-Pro offensive tackle Penei Sewell to Jared Goff 's blind side, allowing first-round rookie Blake Miller to step in at right tackle. There's also a new play-caller coming from the outside in offensive coordinator Drew Petzing. The Saints, who won four of their final five games last season, could capitalize on any early friction. Brandon Staley's defense made significant strides over the course of last year, finishing the season sixth in yards allowed per play. With sizable investments in running back Travis Etienne Jr. and offensive guard David Edwards, a languishing ground game could come to life. And with first-round receiver Jordyn Tyson in tow, an aerial attack helmed by promising second-year signal-caller Tyler Shough should be a good deal more threatening to opposing defenses. Upset potential: 5. Detroit faceplanted in its opener last season, with issues along both lines coming to the forefront. New Orleans isn't nearly as formidable on either side as the Green Bay Packers were last September, but the Lions still might require some time to coalesce. The Saints would need several elements to break their way to pull off the upset, including an advantage in the turnover battle to offset issues with the pass rush and secondary. But Kellen Moore's team could be a bit overlooked heading into the coach's second year, and this group could have enough to keep pace with the Lions. There's a good deal of familiarity between these two regimes, which last April orchestrated the draft trade centered on Travis Hunter Jr. and later reconvened for a swap of cornerbacks at the trade deadline. Little else, however, binds Jacksonville and Cleveland, with the former having made a nine-win improvement in coach Liam Coen's first year while the latter continued to flounder. Might new coach Todd Monken help the Browns chart a new course right away? It's a tall order, but change should do the offense some good, even if the outlook at quarterback remains inauspicious. Maintaining composure will be a key early challenge for a unit with so many new pieces, and the Jaguars - who ranked second in the NFL with 31 takeaways in 2025 - will surely pounce on any missteps. Cleveland's defense could be more volatile after Jim Schwartz's departure, but Myles Garrett 's presence alone will continue to alter game plans. Upset potential: 2. A Week 1 road triumph against a playoff team seems mighty lofty for a team that's heavily reliant on first- and second-year players. Though Jacksonville's defensive front doesn't inspire much fear, a Cleveland offensive line featuring five new starters likely won't find its footing right away. And with a well-orchestrated rushing attack, the Jaguars seem less prone than other teams to having their game plan wrecked by Garrett. The only thing rougher for Arizona than its social media team's schedule release video was the opening slate itself. The NFC West cellar-dweller's September setup features trips to Los Angeles and San Francisco sandwiching a home date with the defending champion Seattle Seahawks . A rout by the Chargers could be a sig

Unfortunately, very little went the team’s way last year and, after starting 2-0, they finished 3-14, ending the year on a torturous nine-game losing streak. Yet, what that tawdry record doesn’t indicate is that a whopping games were lost by seven points or less. Had they just gotten the job done, Kyler Murray and head coach Jonathan Gannon may have stuck around. Sadly, that wasn’t in the…ummm…cards. Instead, this year, Mike LaFleur inherits head coaching duties and Jacoby Brissett — who started 14 games in ’25 and went 1-11 — returns. To add insult to injury, the squad has the third-toughest schedule of any team in the NFL. Notable opponents dropping into Glendale, Ariz.’s State Farm Stadium this year include Jared Goff ’s Detroit Lions (Oct. 11), Bo Nix ’s Denver Broncos (Oct. 25), Matthew Stafford ’s Los Angeles Rams (Nov. 15), Jalen Hurts ’ Philadelphia Eagles (Dec. 6) and Brock Purdy ’s San Francisco 49ers on Jan. 9 or 10 in the final game of the regular season. Plus, Sam Darnold ’s defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks will be swinging in too on Sunday, Sept. 20 aka the Cards’ home opener. Thankfully, Brissett and the Cardinals got a bit of insurance in standout rookie running back Jeremiyah Love, as well as draft picks Chase Bisontis, Carson Beck and Kaleb Proctor. Offseason acquisitions Devin Duvernay , Isaac Seumalo , Tyler Allgeier , Kendrick Bourne and quarterback insurance Gardner Minshew join them. Franchise tight end Trey McBride , 2025 star signee Josh Sweat , starting wideout Michael Wilson , elite safety Budda Baker and offensive line anchor Paris Johnson Jr. return, too. To end the season, Kirk Cousins stepped up in Michael Penix Jr.’s absence and helped the club cobble together a four-game win streak to tie the Panthers and Buccaneers at 8-9. Unfortunately, due to a tiebreaker, Carolina won the division and sent Atlanta packing for the offseason. Once the season officially wrapped, the franchise went into rebuild mode and dumped head coach Raheem Morris for former Browns field general Kevin Stefanski. Stefanski, 44, joins Falcons nucleus members Michael Penix Jr., Bijan Robinson , Chris Lindstrom , Drake London and Jesse Bates III along with head-turning offseason acquisitions Brian Robinson Jr. , Tua Tagovailoa , Jahan Dotson , Jake Bailey and Austin Hooper as well as standout second round draft pick Avieon Terrell. And, while they look great on paper and have the fifth-easiest schedule of any NFL team in ’26 (based on last year’s winning percentages), don’t start daydreaming of a playoff berth banner hanging from the rafters just yet. Penix Jr. and the Dirty Birds will really have to show up this year given how many perennial contenders — and 2025 under-performers but often great teams — are heading to Mercedes-Benz Stadium come September. Thanks to the NFL schedule rollout, we know the club will have to face Lamar Jackson ’s Baltimore Ravens (Oct. 11), Caleb Williams Chicago Bears (Oct. 18), Brock Purdy ’s San Francisco 49ers (Oct. 25), Patrick Mahomes ’ Kansas City Chiefs (Nov. 15) and Jared Goff ’s Detroit Lions (Dec. 6) at home. Of course, they’ll meet up with the Bryce Young’s Carolina Panthers (Sept. 20) and Baker Mayfield ’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Dec. 27), too. Thus, Stefanski’s squad will need all the help it can get from the Falcons faithful. Even though Bryce Young and co. went 8-9 and lost in Week 18 to their division rival Tampa Bay Buccaneers , the scrappy team advanced to the postseason. Once there, their odd duck fairytale season came to a screeching halt after they were bested by the Los Angeles Rams 34-31 in the NFC Wild Card Round, which also happened to be the Panthers’ first playoff appearance since January 2018. “When we came here as a staff, our whole goal was to create a brand of football that we can be proud of. And that’s what we’re doing,” head coach Dave Canales said in a postgame press conference. “We’re building something from the ground up—from the basics, the fundamentals and the technique and all that and trying to build it the right way.” And, now, that the NFL has rolled out their 2026 schedule, we know who Canales’ club will face next season. Following a disappointing 7-10 season, team president Tom Garfinkel cleaned house and canned head coach Mike McDaniel while starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was cut loose and signed with the Atlanta Falcons . To make up for their absences, the franchise signed Packers quarterback Malik Willis to lead the offense and enlisted fellow Green Bay alum Jeff Hafley as his new skipper. And, now that the 2026 NFL schedule has officially been rolled out, Dolfans finally know what year one of the Willis-Halfey (or maybe Quinn Ewers ) era looks like. Notable opponents set to visit the club’s Hard Rock Stadium include Patrick Mahomes ’ Kansas City Chiefs (Sept. 27), Drake Maye ’s AFC champion New England Patriots (Nov. 1), Jared Goff ’s Detroit Lions (Nov. 8), Caleb Williams ’ Chicago Bears (Dec. 13) and Josh Allen ’s Buffalo Bills on Jan. 3, 2027 in the final home game of the season. Unfortunately, due to a number of factors out of their control, Miami encountered a perfect storm and ended up with the second toughest schedule of all 32 NFL teams, according to Yahoo! Sports . “Any situation I want to go in, I want to win in everything that we do,” Hafley told former NFL star Richard Sherman on his podcast. “I think the expectations for right now are we have to build this foundation and build this culture the right way. And I know people don’t want to hear me say that, but I think that’s really important. And then … you have to create that competition to push guys to improve every single day…we need to create that competitive way right now, and I think that’s really important.” To make sure the squad is ready, new general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan filled major holes over the offseason after jettisoning Tagovailoa, Tyreek Hill , Jaylen Waddle , Bradley Chubb , Jaelan Phillips and a slew of other core players. Taking their place are free agent signees like wideout Tutu Atwell , offensive linebacker Joshua Uche , lineman Jamaree Salyer , receiver Jalen Tolbert and offensive tackle Charlie Heck . Joining them are returning stars De’Von Achane, Zach Sieler , Chop Robinson and Jordyn Brooks along with standout draft picks Kadyn Proctor, Chris Johnson and Jacob Rodriguez. Featured pricing is subject to change. The Detroit Lions are ready to rev back up. After winning the NFC North in 2023 and ’24, Jared Goff and co. regressed last season, finishing the year with a 9-8 record and in the cellar of the elite division. “Sometimes you’ve got to hit rock bottom before you can work your way back up,” Head Coach Dan Campbell said after the campaign came to a disappointing close. “As bad as it looks…it’s not as far away as it may appear. We’ve just got to get a few things back in line here.” And, now that the 2026 NFL schedule has officially dropped, we know what The Pride’s path to prosperity looks like. Major opponents headed to Detroit’s Ford Field this season include Jordan Love ’s Green Bay Packers (Oct. 25), Kyler Murray ’s Minnesota Vikings (Nov. 1), Baker Mayfield ’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Nov. 22), Caleb Williams ’ Chicago Bears (Nov. 26) and Jaxson Dart ’s New York Giants on Monday, Dec. 28 in their last home game of the season. To make sure they’re up for the challenge — and avoid a repeat of ’25 — General Manager Brad Holmes got to work these past few months. In addition to drafting Clemson offensive tackle Blake Miller and Michigan defensive end Derrick Moore , he is also bringing two-time Super Bowl champion running back Isiah Pacheco , Frank Ragnow replacement center Cade Mays , backup quarterback Teddy Bridgewater , rock-solid offensive lineman Larry Borom , and scrappy safety Christian Izien to the Den of Doom. Fan favorites Goff, Penei Sewell , Amon-Ra St. Brown , Aidan Hutchinson , and Sam LaPorta return as well. Plus, don’t forget Jahmyr Gibbs and Brian Branch will be back, too. Fans will be getting a healthy dose of the Los Angeles Rams in 2026, but the NFL completely whiffed on the timing of several high-profile matchups. Cramming both Rams-Seahawks games into two of the final three weeks was only the beginning of the league’s scheduling chaos this season. The NFL lost its mind not only waiting to schedule the first Rams-Seahawks game in Week 16, but also making L.A. visit Seattle on a short week. These teams played in a pair of thrillers in the Emerald City — games that were decided by five points, mind you — and this is how you plan to showcase a matchup featuring the NFC’s top squads? Forget the prestige of playing on Christmas; this is a game that deserves to be played on a normal week, either on Sunday or Monday night. That’s far from the only questionable decision the scheduling gurus made. Tell me why the Bills and Chiefs are playing on Thanksgiving night? Buffalo will enter that game on a short week after traveling to Miami , while the Chiefs will similarly be playing on a few days’ rest following a home date with the Cardinals. Thanksgiving shouldn’t feature the most exciting games, because they’re mostly background noise to lull you to sleep once the tryptophan kicks in. Now the NFL’s telling us we have to power through our food comas to watch what is expected to be another thriller between two of the AFC’s best. Seriously? There are several gripes I have about other matchups, and those grievances will be aired as follows: Why are the Bills playing their first game in a new stadium on Thursday Night Football? And against the Lions no less. Even the Raiders got their first game at Allegiant Stadium on Monday Night Football. Yeah, the effin’ Raiders! Let that sink in. The Broncos and Seahawks, who nearly played each other in the Super Bowl, also face off on TNF for some reason. Speaking of the Broncos, they’ll play in a rematch of the controversial Divisional Round game against the Bills on Christmas. What?! Additionally on Christmas, the Packers and Bears will face off at Soldier Field after Chicago defeated their bitter rival twice in the Windy City late last season. Why is another potential thriller being buried on a holiday?! The NFL apparently believes it’s perfectly fine to hide some of its biggest matchups and most important division rivalries on holidays and short weeks. Waiting until the final stretch of the season to stage a Rams-Seahawks rematch, for instance, is inexcusable. This year’s schedule is loaded with blockbuster games, but the league has chosen some baffling ways to present them

Featured pricing is subject to change. The Chicago Bears have spent the offseason dealing with a lot of “what if’s.” Yet, even after their crushing 20-17 overtime loss at the hands of the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Divisional Round, head coach Ben Johnson’s club isn’t letting heartbreak define them. “This will be, hopefully, a feeling in the locker room we won’t forget, and we will be able to use it as fuel,” Johnson, 39, said in a press conference after the game. Now, three months later, Caleb “Ice Man” Williams and co. will finally get to see who they’ll be using that “fuel” against now that the 2026 NFL schedule has officially been released. Just a few of the most notable biggies Chicago will take on at their home Soldier Field this year include NFC North divisional rivals, Kyler Murray ’s Minnesota Vikings (Sept. 20), Jordan Love ’s Green Bay Packers (Dec. 25) and Jared Goff’s Detroit Lions (Jan. 3, 2027) along with huge matchups against Jalen Hurts ’ Philadelphia Eagles (Sept. 28) and Drake Maye ’s AFC champion New England Patriots (Oct. 22). According to Yahoo! Sports , Da Bears come into ’26 at a bit of a disadvantage, having to deal with the strongest strength of schedule of any team in the league due to their success in 2025. To make sure they’re ready and raring to go, General Manager Ryan Poles addressed major pain points and signed Super Bowl-winning safety Coby Bryant , speedy linebacker Devin Bush , prolific tackle Neville Gallimore , and wideout Kalif Raymond , who played for Detroit when Ben Johnson was its offensive coordinator. This talented group joins the nucleus of Williams, Rome Odunze , and Colston Loveland to form a formidable roster that hopefully won’t have to deal with any “what if’s” after next year’s campaign. All that’s missing now is…you.
