Brevyn Spann-Ford's Increased Workload Signals Tight End Shakeup
Dallas Cowboys tight end Brevyn Spann-Ford started Sunday's 23-13 loss to the Green Bay Packers ahead of Jake Ferguson, but Dallas hasn't entirely handed him the position. Spann-Ford caught four of five targets for 35 yards, topping his three receptions through the first five games combined. His playing time jumped from 16 snaps against Tampa Bay in Week 5 to 33 against Green Bay, while Ferguson dropped from 47 to 37 snaps and managed just two catches for 13 yards. Head coach Brian Schottenheimer had promised personnel changes after the Tampa Bay loss, when Ferguson committed two costly drops, and Spann-Ford was a clear beneficiary. Rostered in just 1% of leagues, he's worth a speculative waiver addition in 14-team formats ahead of Monday's matchup against Philadelphia. Ferguson still played more offensive snaps against Green Bay, though, which leaves the starting job unsettled despite Spann-Ford's increased involvement

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Ryan Flournoy has shown enough upside to be startable as a WR3/flex in fantasy football leagues in games in which either of his team's top-2 WRs are injured. Unfortunately for fantasy managers who have him, both WRs CeeDee Lamb (quadriceps) and George Pickens practiced in full on Friday and are set to play in Week 6 without restrictions. Flournoy's standalone value is minimal when both Lamb and Pickens are healthy. The third-year pro will continue to serve as third fiddle at WR in an offense that also looks to get tight end Jake Ferguson and running back Javonte Williams involved in the passing game. This leaves little room for No. 19 to go off on a weekly basis. He should remain on benches in deep leagues and in the minds of fantasy managers as a waiver wire priority if either Lamb or Pickens suffers a serious injury moving forward

49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk wasn’t the only player to win his appeal of a fine for pretending to drink a beer as part of an in-game celebration in Week 2. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that tight end Jake Ferguson also prevailed in his appeal. Ferguson had been fined $13,611 for miming chugging a beer after a touchdown in the Cowboys’ win over the Commanders. Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Ryan Flournoy has yet to have his first breakout game of the 2026 NFL season. The return of Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb to full health has allowed him to ascend to elite, elite WR1 status, at the expense of every other pass-catcher on the team. Flournoy's big games last season were aided by injuries to the team's other wideouts, anyway, and he's best viewed as a handcuff that has legitimate upside only when either of the team's two starting wideouts, Lamb and George Pickens, go down. Dallas' targets are concentrated heavily on Lamb, with Pickens, tight end Jake Ferguson, and running back Javonte Williams also getting in on the action regularly. That simply doesn't leave much left over for a WR3 like Flournoy to have any kind of week-to-week upside. After four games, he's the WR74 in PPR Fantasy football leagues, which makes him a tough start even in deep dynasty leagues. He should be stashed on benches in those deep leagues for a rainy day for Lamb or Pickens, though
