Ryan Flournoy Locks Down Cowboys' WR3 Job
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Ryan Flournoy has turned a strong summer into a much firmer spot on the redraft radar. Flournoy entered camp as Dallas' third receiver behind CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, and he has only strengthened his hold on that role. The Cowboys' latest unofficial depth chart lists him as a starter, while the team's own end-of-camp review said the 26-year-old had taken firm control of the No. 3 spot. Brian Schottenheimer also included Flournoy among the players who exceeded expectations this summer. He earned the opportunity after taking a big step in 2025, catching 40 of 56 targets for 475 yards and four touchdowns in 16 games after managing just 102 receiving yards as a rookie. Offensive coordinator Klayton Adams has also praised Flournoy's deeper understanding of the offense as he enters Year 3. Lamb and Pickens will make consistent target volume difficult to find, with Jake Ferguson also heavily involved in the passing game. Flournoy isn't suddenly a weekly fantasy starter, but his role is considerably safer than it was a year ago. RotoBaller currently ranks him WR63, giving him legitimate late-round appeal in deeper redraft leagues

Dallas Cowboys tight end Michael Trigg caught four of his five targets for 30 yards during Saturday's preseason win over the Seattle Seahawks. At 24 years old, Trigg is on the older side for a prospect, which might be why he went undrafted despite having 694 yards and six touchdowns at Baylor last season. Nevertheless, he's already turning heads in the NFL after a productive, high-volume showing in the Cowboys' preseason opener. There's no question that Jake Ferguson has the No. 1 tight end job all locked up in Dallas, but we wouldn't be shocked to see Trigg push for the No. 2 role ahead of Luke Schoonmaker, despite his undrafted status. If Trigg continues to play well, he could be in the mix for a fantasy-relevant workload in the event of an injury to Ferguson

Ryan Flournoy Is Getting Harder to Ignore in Redraft Leagues
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Ryan Flournoy has moved a long way from the practice-squad spot he held at the start of last season. He finished 2025 with 40 catches for 475 yards and four touchdowns on 56 targets, and Dallas now lists him as a starting receiver alongside CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens. That matters, even if the target ceiling is still pretty obvious. Flournoy's two 100-yard games last year both came when the Cowboys needed more from him, including a 9-115-1 line against Detroit after Lamb left with a concussion. He has kept building on that this summer. Dallas has talked openly about his improved route running and consistency, and Brian Schottenheimer has praised the work he put in during the offseason. KaVontae Turpin is still getting first-team reps, while Jake Ferguson gives Dak Prescott another established option in the middle of the field. Flournoy is RotoBaller's WR63, so nobody is asking him to become a weekly starter right away. For deeper leagues, though, the WR3 role and the flashes he showed last season make him a reasonable late-round swing

Cowboys claim TE Zack Kuntz off waivers

The Cowboys lost Princeton Fant for the season to a torn ACL and they replaced him on the roster with another tight end on Thursday. The NFL’s daily transaction report shows that they have claimed Zack Kuntz off of waivers. Fant was placed on injured reserve in a corresponding move. Kuntz was waived by the Raiders on Thursday to end a brief stint with the team. He was a 2023 Jets seventh-round pick and played in two games during his time with the team. Jake Ferguson, Brevyn Spann-Ford, Luke Schoonmaker, Michael Trigg, and DJ Rogers are the other tight ends on the Cowboys roster

Fant tore his anterior cruciate ligament and partially tore his medial collateral ligament and will undergo surgery in the next couple of weeks, head coach Brian Schottenheimer said Tuesday. Fant injured his knee when he was blocked backward into running back Israel Abanikanda during the Cowboys’ first full-pads practice Monday. Fant signed with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of Tennessee in 2023. He has appeared in 11 games in three seasons, playing mostly on special teams. It is a heavy time for rankings throughout the NFL. This is the case thanks to the worldwide leader. ESPN has been slow-playing their release of rankings of various position groups, an exercise they have been doing for a couple of years now (basically the new-look version of the old-school NFL Top 100). For context it should be understood that ESPN assembles these rankings based on their sourcing of executives, coaches, and scouts throughout the league, so the thought is that these rankings are built by people who know the current game the best. Most notably the Cowboys have seen Tyler Smith rank atop all interior linemen and both Dak Prescot t and Quinnen Williams come in at number 6 in their respective positions. Players like Javonte Williams , Jake Ferguson , Tyler Booker (among the interior linemen that Tyler Smith topped obviously), and DaRon Bland pick up honorable mentions. You can officially count DeMarvion Overshown among that honorable mention crew at off-ball linebacker . DeMarvion Overshown, Dallas Cowboys : “He moves like a safety. Incredibly talented. I want to see how he does this year after the injuries.” — NFC scout Obviously Overshown played safety early in his collegiate career at the University of Texas, so that he “moves like” one makes sense. There is zero question that Overshown has flashed serious potential to date at this point in his career. The issue with him has unfortunately been one of injuries as he has had a difficult time staying on the field. ESPN also listed Overshown as someone who could be a breakout player in 2026, and given that he has done so before they even termed it as a potential “ re-breakout .” Him reaching the heights that we have seen in the past would go a long way towards returning this defense to a respectable form. Here are the top 10 off-ball linebackers from the ranking, if you are curious: Fred Warner , 49ers Roquan Smith , Ravens Carson Schwesinger , Browns Zack Baun , Eagles Jack Campbell , Lions Azeez Al-Shaair , Texans Jordyn Brooks , Dolphins Nick Bolton , Chiefs Edgerrin Cooper , Packers Devin Lloyd , Panthers New Cowboys defensive coordinator Christian Parker was around the Eagles obviously, and so perhaps he has a vision for building his own version of what Zack Baun offers to Philadelphia . Along those lines, the Cowboys were connected at points this offseason to trade rumors involving both Azeez Al-Shaair and Jordyn Brooks. It seems obvious that they understand they have to improve at this spot. Hopefully DeMarvion Overshown can be the answer. Do you think he can/will?

Michael Trigg a Deep Dynasty Stash With Roster Risk
Dallas Cowboys tight end Michael Trigg has the receiving profile to draw dynasty interest, but he is still fighting just to make the roster. His final Baylor season was easily his best: 50 catches for 694 yards and six touchdowns in 11 games. At the combine, he measured 6-foot-3 3/4, 240 pounds, with 10 1/2-inch hands and an 84 3/8-inch wingspan, the longest among tight ends in the class. That length shows up on contested catches. The rest is less settled. Jake Ferguson is locked in at TE1, while Luke Schoonmaker and Brevyn Spann-Ford are already battling for the next job. Dallas has also made it clear that special teams and blocking will help decide whether Trigg survives final cuts. A practice-squad outcome remains very possible. RotoBaller ranks him TE43 in dynasty, which fits the uncertainty. He belongs on taxi squads only in deeper formats, not active redraft rosters. Report: George Pickens among teammates working with Dak Prescott in Utah
Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens skipped most of the team’s offseason program, but he reportedly opted to get some more work in with his teammates this week. Clarence Hill of DLLS Sports reports that Pickens is taking part in a retreat for skill position players that quarterback Dak Prescott put together in Park City, Utah. Hill adds that Pickens and Prescott have also been joined by wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, tight end Jake Ferguson and other key players as there is 100 percent participation at the workouts. Pickens did not take part in any of the team’s voluntary work after signing his franchise tag this offseason, but did report to their mandatory minicamp. He did not participate in team drills, however. The Cowboys have said that they have no intention of negotiating a long-term deal with Pickens ahead of the July 15 deadline to get one done, but his presence at minicamp suggests that he will be reporting to training camp at the end of the month
