Giants RB Cam Skattebo, despite a promising start to his rookie season before an ankle injury, expressed dissatisfaction and vowed to achieve historic numbers in 2026, aiming for over 2,000 rushing yards and 300 carries. He expects to be ready for Week 1
Amid a near-total teardown and early-stage rebuild of their roster this offseason, the Dolphins ensured at least one of their cornerstones isn't going anywhere by agreeing to a four-year, $64 million extension with De'Von Achane last week, per CBS Sports lead NFL insider Jonathan Jones . It was a "put your money where your mouth is" situation. The Dolphins had already traded away both Jaylen Waddle ( Broncos ) and Minkah Fitzpatrick ( Jets ) by the time new GM Jon-Eric Sullivan said unequivocally last month Achane wasn't available for trade . Now, Achane has one of the largest contracts at his position. De'Von Achane Extension RB Rank Behind ... Total value $64M 1st N/A Average annual value $16M 3rd Saquon Barkley , Christian McCaffrey Guaranteed money $32M 4th Jeremiyah Love , Barkley, Ashton Jeanty The electrifying 24-year-old registered 1,838 yards from scrimmage last year, sixth in the NFL . His 5.7 yards per carry and 13.4% explosive rush rate were both highest in the league, too. Despite standing just 5-foot-9 and weighing just 191 pounds, Achane played in 16 games last year and recorded a career-high 304 touches, including a team-high 67 catches. The year before, he played in all 17 games and had 281 touches, including 78 catches, showing he's much more than the position name "running back" suggests. He's not alone in that designation, even in his own draft. The 2023 class as a whole, like all classes, had notable busts and notable hits, like Achane, who was a third-round selection. But the running back crop has been excellent, with first-rounders Bijan Robinson and Jahmyr Gibbs ascending to superstar status, Achane on the precipice and fifth-rounder Chase Brown coming off his best season. Achane's extension brings the focus squarely on what Robinson and Gibbs could fetch this offseason. Because they were first-round picks, they have a fifth-year option on the contract, and the Falcons and Lions , respectively, exercised those options . ESPN's Adam Schefter has said that a Robinson extension should be coming this offseason. Two stars of Robinson's caliber in the 2023 draft class -- Will Anderson Jr . ( Texans ) and Jaxon Smith-Njigba ( Seahawks ) have gotten record-setting extensions already, in fact. Things are a bit more complicated in Gibbs' situation given the team's tight finances , ESPN's Eric Woodyard wrote in February. Gibbs is tied to Detroit for the next two seasons, but a second contract might not come this offseason. After all, the Lions decided against exercising All-Pro linebacker Jack Campbell's fifth-year option due to the looming cap realities. The counting numbers make it easy to see why the Falcons and Lions would want to keep Robinson and Gibbs, respectively. NFL ranks -- last 2 seasons Robinson Gibbs Yards from scrimmage 1st 3rd Touchdowns scored 8th 1st Plays of 10+ yards (among RBs) 1st 2nd That last line is crucial. In recent years, NFL defenses have focused on taking away big plays downfield. That makes players who can turn a short gain into a big one even more valuable. Robinson and Gibbs fit that description to a T. Over the past two years, Robinson has 202 tackles avoided, by far the most in the NFL. Gibbs is second with 162. Only one other player, Kenneth Walker III (who, not coincidentally, also got a nice pay day this offseason), is over 150. It's not just volume, either. Gibbs is tied with Achane for the highest explosive play rate in the NFL over the last two seasons; Robinson is ninth. Age is also on their sides. Robinson and Gibbs are both 24, and neither turns 25 until after the upcoming season. The NFL is obsessed with every data point, and especially age when it comes to running backs. Other top-paid running backs, such as Barkley, McCaffrey and Derrick Henry , were older when they signed their most recent contracts. This offseason, Achane and Breece Hall both got significant extensions in which their age was an advantage. Robinson seems more li

Featured pricing is subject to change. The NFC South almost belonged to the Atlanta Falcons in 2025. To end the season, Kirk Cousins stepped up in Michael Penix Jr.’s absence and helped the club cobble together a four-game win streak to tie the Panthers and Buccaneers at 8-9. Unfortunately, due to a tiebreaker, Carolina won the division and sent Atlanta packing for the offseason. Once the season officially wrapped, the franchise went into rebuild mode and dumped head coach Raheem Morris for former Browns field general Kevin Stefanski. Stefanski, 44, joins Falcons nucleus members Michael Penix Jr., Bijan Robinson , Chris Lindstrom , Drake London and Jesse Bates III along with head-turning offseason acquisitions Brian Robinson Jr. , Tua Tagovailoa , Jahan Dotson , Jake Bailey and Austin Hooper as well as standout second round draft pick Avieon Terrell. And, while they look great on paper and have the fifth-easiest schedule of any NFL team in ’26 (based on last year’s winning percentages), don’t start daydreaming of a playoff berth banner hanging from the rafters just yet. Penix Jr. and the Dirty Birds will really have to show up this year given how many perennial contenders — and 2025 under-performers but often great teams — are heading to Mercedes-Benz Stadium come September. Thanks to the NFL schedule rollout, we know the club will have to face Lamar Jackson ’s Baltimore Ravens (Oct. 11), Caleb Williams Chicago Bears (Oct. 18), Brock Purdy ’s San Francisco 49ers (Oct. 25), Patrick Mahomes ’ Kansas City Chiefs (Nov. 15) and Jared Goff ’s Detroit Lions (Dec. 6) at home. Of course, they’ll meet up with the Bryce Young’s Carolina Panthers (Sept. 20) and Baker Mayfield ’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Dec. 27), too. Thus, Stefanski’s squad will need all the help it can get from the Falcons faithful. If you want to root yourself hoarse for the Dirty Birds live, tickets are available for all eight Atlanta Falcons 2026 home games at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on SeatGeek. The NFL’s annual roast – otherwise known as the schedule release – took place via social media May 14 as the 2026 slate for all 32 teams became official. Every team, as has become tradition, created a video to celebrate the occasion . All deserve praise and required hard work from scores of individuals who deserve praise. But like the game of football, some teams fared better than others, and there can only be one winner. USA TODAY Sports ranked the top five videos from this year’s batch of videos. But first … Four teams’ submissions were worthy of an honorable mention tag. The Chicago Bears , for their Rome “Bob Ross” Odunze sketch. The Los Angeles Rams channeled “Napoleon Dynamite” for their bit of nostalgia. Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence chopped off his patented blonde flow and that alone deserves recognition. And the Indianapolis Colts’ “Simpsons” video was impressive. Now onto the top five. The reigning Super Bowl champs kept the momentum going with a spoof of those oddly sultry fragrance commercials. They featured Seahawks players, Marshawn Lynch , play-by-play announcer Steve Raible and celebrity fans Josh Lucas, Joel McHale and Pierson Fode. Each fragrance referred to a different opponent and poked fun at them. A little low for the Chargers, who often take the top spot. But for the fourth straight season, their video existed in an alternate reality, this one in the Halo video game. The points deducted from running the same play over and over again doesn’t distract from the team’s uncanny ability to have the best burns year in and year out. And the level of dedication it takes to create this type of project is more than worthy of a top-five ranking. Nostalgia plays when it comes to the schedule-release video, and if there’s one piece of media that is universally beloved, it’s “This is SportsCenter” commercials. All of the jokes – Matt Ryan losing his temper, a “Bijan” Robinson pronunciation mishap – hit. Kevin Stefanski plays a heck of a straightman. The man-on-the-street (Broadway, to be exact) style is back! Tennessee’s video from 2023 was one of the best schedule-release videos ever produced, and going back to the well three years later was more than appropriate. The format change – the admin approached individuals who “looked like” players of the opposing team for a certain week – was a fun wrinkle that allowed the theme to continue without it feeling too similar. Did Fernando Mendoza and Kirk Cousins just become best friends? Getting buy-in from the two quarterbacks is one thing, but to actually execute upon the “Stepbrothers” spoof is another. No notes, because this video hits all of the right ones. With the 2026 NFL schedule yet to be released, predictions for team records are being made. Offseason activities like OTAs and minicamps are approaching, and teams are making roster decisions. Key players like Matthew Stafford, Puka Nacua, C.J. Stroud, Jahmyr Gibbs, and Bijan Robinson may be candidates for contract extensions, while A.J. Brown's future in Philadelphia is uncertain. Several veteran free agents are still available, and more transactions are expected

Will the Madden NFL 27 cover star be the man capping off a generational year, which included leading the Bears back to the playoffs? Caleb Williams made the proverbial leap this past season. He is young, and plays in a major media market. It sure makes sense that he would be the Madden cover favorite, but can he beat 'it'? 'It', the only thing scarier than Penny Wise the Clown, is the 'Madden Curse'. The one eldritch force in professional sports more reliable than an early-season collapse by the New York Jets . This intense interest and public debate are the primary reasons we've pulled data from the Kalshi prediction market for the Madden NFL '27 cover star to find out who leads the race so far. With the Madden NFL 27 cover acting as the ultimate digital hall of fame, traders and industry analysts believe that EA Sports is looking for a fresh, younger face to lead the franchise into its next era. Matthew Stafford and Jaxon Smith-Njigba took leads in this market post-Super Bowl but Caleb Williams now sits atop the prediction market. Running backs are enjoying a rare resurgence in popularity, with Bijan Robinson and Jonathan Taylor nipping at the heels of the elite. Defensive stars and perennial NFL MVP odds favorites like Patrick Mahomes are currently languishing in the bargain bin of "unlikely" outcomes across prediction markets . The latest riser is Myles Garrett , who is now trading at 17 cents. His probability is up 6% from the start of the month. Williams checks a lot of Madden cover boxes. He's a QB. He's in a major market. He's young. And he's hyper-aware of his burgeoning image. There's been some "mock" Madden covers on social media recently featuring Williams' throw on fourth-and-8 against the Packers in the playoffs this past season. The image of Williams on that throw has been dubbed the "Iceman" image, much like the famed "Jumpman" image of Michael Jordan (the last true Chicago sports icon). This has gained so much steam that Williams has filed for multiple trademark protections for the term "Iceman." Could the "Iceman" image be coming to the Madden franchise? There's too much noise to think otherwise. After finishing second in the NFL MVP voting behind Matthew Stafford, Drake Maye looks eerily like the specter of Brady in that Patriots jersey. Could he end up being even better? That's a big projection, but Drake Maye, in his sophomore season as an NFL quarterback, has shown more athleticism than the future Hall of Famer. Despite a disappointing loss to a dominant Seattle team in the Super Bowl, Maye has a bright future in football and will likely find himself as the face of the Madden franchise at some point in the future, even if his time isn't now. Seattle’s wideout capped off a historic campaign by running away with Offensive Player of the Year and a Super Bowl ring, and he’ll look to break the mold when it comes to the stigma surrounding wide receivers being prioritized by EA. Madden 19 marked the last time a wide receiver appeared on the cover ( Antonio Brown ), and only four receivers have graced the cover dating back to 2010. There's so much volatility in this market that there's value to be find in trading into a 'Yes' position on JSN. Just be sure to keep tracking this market daily. Despite not meeting high expectations in his rookie season, Ashton Jeanty is still considered a top-five dynasty running back. With an improved offensive line and new head coach Klint Kubiak, Jeanty is projected to break out as an elite RB1 in 2026, especially with Kubiak's expected emphasis on the ground game
The NFL will announce its international game schedule on May 13, ahead of the full 2026 schedule release. Nine international games are planned, with the 49ers playing the Rams in Melbourne and the Cowboys facing the Ravens in Rio already confirmed. Other teams involved include the Jaguars (twice in London), Commanders (London), 49ers (Mexico City), Falcons (Madrid), Lions (Munich), and Saints (Paris)
When Matt Ryan was playing for the Falcons, the team didn't have to answer any questions about their quarterback plans but his first year as the franchise's president of football isn't starting under the same circumstances
I get it. Rookie season is just different for all of us, dynasty sickos. Rookie draft picks are at a premium, and everyone who is about to enter the NFL is being evaluated. Phase one, the highlight viewing is done. Phase two, analyzing the workout metrics, is done. The final phase, getting the official draft capital from the actual 2026 Draft, is coming up quickly. The thing about dynasty rookies is that “fading” one isn’t a knock on the player. or some “personal beef.” It’s just the valuation of a prospect when the price tag climbs past the realistic year one return, that’s a fade. Simple as that. The following guys have appeal on the surface. Some of them might genuinely surprise us. Right now, in your upcoming dynasty draft, though, they are being valued at a cost that outpaces where they’re likely to land in actual production. To that end, here’s why I’m letting each of them get selected by other league mates. Here’s the honest scouting take on Jadarian Price . His burst is real, and you can see it on the tape. When he finds a crease, he’s gone, but that’s also kind of his whole thing. His game is built on speed, but I am not convinced he can handle the NFL workload. Would I like to have a player like Price on my bench? Sure. But I am not using the top of his market draft capital to pick him. Price runs upright more often than you’d like, which becomes a problem the second defenses get a chance to key on him. He’s a finesse runner with some agility, decent vision, and I won’t lie he can make a guy miss in open space. But he’s not the kind of back who’s going to bully his way into feature back carries early on so you’re probably looking at a committee role that eats into his touch count from day one. Not sure I understand the Jadarian Price hype. • Can’t pass block • Weak speed score • Not ideal size • Wasn’t heavily used in the passing game • Had some nice runs and special teams plays sure Before you say it, I get it… he played behind Love. Ballers still ball… pic.twitter.com/RbzkoGnX0u — Dynasty Dwarf (@DynastyDwarf) April 18, 2026 His long-term ceiling is intriguing, using high end rookie picks to get a chance at a long-term return doesn’t float my boat. If he lands behind a veteran in a split backfield — the most likely scenario — you’re chasing inconsistent touch totals and hoping he pops on the right week. That’s not a building block… that’s a slot machine. I’d rather spend that pick somewhere with a cleaner path. Malachi Fields is a receiver I genuinely like as a football player. Big catch radius, willing to go over the middle, can hold onto the ball when a cornerback is draped on him. Those are real traits. NFL teams value size-speed guys at the position, and Fields has enough of both to carve out a role… eventually . The problem (and it’s a significant one) for fantasy purposes, is that his route running still needs time in the oven. Winning at the NFL level without sharp, refined routes means you’re dependent on spike weeks and not weekly consistency. The CJ Carr first-play bomb to Malachi Fields traveled roughly 55 yards in the air and landed in a bucket. Notre Dame’s redshirt freshman quarterback has a cannon. An accurate one at that. pic.twitter.com/mv6PNHWM9Q — Tyler Horka (@tbhorka) September 23, 2025 What you’ll likely get from Fields in year one is a handful of impressive contested catches scattered across otherwise quiet stat lines. Fantasy managers hate that, myself very much included. You need reliable targets, not moments that go viral on TikTok. The red zone upside is real and worth noting due to his frame, but I don’t like betting on frame. I want to be careful here, because Zachariah Branch is one of those players who can develop into a star given his abilities. The quickness is absurd. His acceleration out of cuts makes defensive backs look like they’re running in sand. Every time he touches the football, there’s a real possibility it ends up as a highlight. He’s that kind of player. [... truncated ...]
The 2026 Panini Senior Bowl has wrapped, and once again, Mobile delivered exactly what NFL evaluators love, which is a week where the pads did the talking. Between three days of physical, competitive practices and a defense-heavy game on Saturday, several prospects made themselves real money while others walked away with more questions than answers. With over 100 draft hopefuls on the field, the separation between “pro-ready,” “needs development,” and “stock falling” became pretty obvious. Below are the three biggest winners and three biggest losers from the week. PlayerProfiler is home to award-winning dynasty rankings and tools. Our Dynasty Deluxe package includes complete Dynasty Rankings, Rookie Rankings, Trade Analyzer, Draft Planner, Mock Drafts, and more. Check it out . If there was one player who walked into Mobile with something to prove and walked out looking like he owned the place, it was Clemson’s T.J. Parker . His stock had dipped this past season after his sack production fell off, but the Senior Bowl gave him the perfect platform to remind scouts who he really is, and he took full advantage. Parker consistently embarrassed offensive tackles in one-on-ones. His long arms were his main weapon all week, but more importantly, he showed a deeper bag than anyone expected. He showed off his inside counters, rip-through finishes, and even some surprising bend around the arc. He also set a strong edge against the run and carried himself like a player who knew he had first-round talent and just needed to show it again. By the time practice ended on Thursday, scouts were openly calling him one of the best players in Mobile. In a defensive-heavy class, Parker did enough to justify why he was considered and should continue to be considered a first-round pick. Jacob Rodriguez entered the week with production in 2025 that made him a fascinating linebacker prospect. With awards, turnovers, and Heisman votes on his resume, J-Rod was on a lot of radars. Mobile answered whether the tape was real … spoiler alert: It was. Rodriguez was arguably the most consistent defender of the entire week. His processing speed stood out immediately. He beat running backs to landmarks and linemen to the point of attack. He also made one of the best individual practice plays of the week when he punched out a forced fumble, and later hauled in a diving interception. Every rep looked like a veteran NFL linebacker reading the game two beats ahead of everyone else. Coaches and scouts couldn’t stop talking about his football IQ, and teammates gravitated toward him during drills. He entered the week in that Round 3 linebacker cluster, now he leaves looking like one of the safest Day 2 picks on the board and a future Mike linebacker with real NFL potential. Among a mediocre at best receiver group, Malachi Fields managed to look like he belonged in his own category. His size jumps off the field at 6’4″, 218, but what separated him was how well he played through contact and how natural he looked at the catch point. Press coverage didn’t bother him. Physical corners didn’t move him. He was simply the most reliable target in Mobile. Fields made multiple highlight plays throughout the week, including the catch everyone in Mobile was talking about , a deep, over-the-shoulder “moon ball” from Taylen Green where he tracked it like a centerfielder. Any concerns about his hand size evaporated instantly because he didn’t drop a thing all week. For a quarterback in a thin class, the Senior Bowl can be a gift. For Sawyer Robertson , however, it became a harsh spotlight. Robertson struggled to find rhythm in practice. His timing on outbreaking routes was inconsistent, and his ball placement rarely looked comfortable. His arm strength is NFL-caliber, but his operation speed and accuracy lagged behind the rest of the group. Robertson’s performance in the game didn’t help either. He had just one completion on five attempts and an interception that capped a tou
